Good morning ladies! I have had a busy day. We got up and had to get out of the house by 8:30 to bring the baby to the dr. Today was helmet day. He has his little helmet now. We have to slowly introduce it so he only has to wear it for an hour today. He is still cute af in it. I just feel bad that it’s so hot out and he has to wear it.

Checking in to say hi. Today is our last day at school so I'm just coming to catch up while I'm pumping. One more pump for this school year after this one!! Wahoo! It's nice to get the break from it in the summer.
We've been having some rough nights too so I will see what's up in the MOTN thread also. DH actually figured out the zippadee zip wasn't working (I wanted to keep it....I was scared she'd startle herself awake too much!) b/c she wanted to lay on her belly but couldn't get comfortable with the zippy on. So we just did a sleep sack last night and that worked better. The night before she kept raging when she flipped on her belly. Other than sleep, she is doing great! She's rolling all over and seems ready to sit up. She can tripod for a few minutes and my mom got a sit-me-up so she is comfy in there for awhile.
I'm just looking forward to being home with the kids. Last summer sucked b/c I was so sick and exhausted but this summer will be better! Exhausting but at least I won't be sick!

Ok I’m going to be lame and slightly hijack today’s thread. What would you guys do with the following...
Baby has been sleeping swaddled, in the RnP, since like day 2. And it has worked wonderfully since. Currently she either puts herself to sleep or I rock it until she’s asleep. But she’s just over 5 Months. She really needs to sleep in the crib.
Yesterday she put herself to sleep in the crib (swaddled) without any tears or any real issue. Her first nap she slept an hour, the other 3 were only about 25 minutes. She usually takes a 2-3 hour nap, a 1 hour nap, and at least a 40 minute nap. By the end of the day she was an over tired mess.
This morning she again fell asleep without issue, but only slept 20 minutes.
Would you just keep going with the crib? Try without the swaddle? Attempt night sleep? I suck at making decisions. Lol.

This morning she again fell asleep without issue, but only slept 20 minutes. Would you just keep going with the crib? Try without the swaddle? Attempt night sleep? I suck at making decisions. Lol. We did a gradual transition, but YMMV. Step 1: Move RnP to the nursery and slept in the nursery in the RnP at night for a week-ish. Step 2: Put to bed in crib to start the night (for us this was around midnight when we went to bed), move to RnP after first wake up for a week-ish. Step 3: Put to bed in crib between 8-9 and stay in the crib all night We did this between 8-11 weeks I think so she was still swaddled and didn't move around too much. The transition was pretty smooth overall, it was just the 4 month sleep regression that had her in our bed more than I would like. We have some rough sleep right now due to a cold and her learning to roll over back to belly over the weekend. The extra movement is waking her up. ETA: her naps at home aren't always in the crib yet, it depends on what else is going on. She sometimes still sleeps in the newborn napper of the PnP.

aprilz81 the RnP is in her room so she is definitely used to sleeping in there. Maybe I should just bite the bullet and try night sleep in the crib and see what happens.

Hi! marygracerich your DS looks JUST like you! I'm underwater. I'm sorry I'm so mia. I'm struggling a lot with working and momming and school. I'm in a good place but I just feel really overwhelmed. I'm constantly dropping the ball. Work is overly chaotic as well. So. Like today I forgot 45 past my pump time I have alarms go off but I guess I ignored it? Idk. I'm so burned out already!

He’s too cute marygracerichajetter I have no advice because my kid sleeps anywhere. BUT he will only nap for about 30 minutes at a time. I’m jealous of the 2-3 hour naps. How do I make that happen? Lol

marygracerich so cute!! ajetter I just did a transition from swaddled into the RnP to unswaddled. I did one week with his nondominant arm out, then one week with both arms out but his body swaddled, then out of the swaddle and into a sleep sack. It worked great. Baby is still in the RnP in my room though, more for my convenience than his since paci pops and feedings are so much easier a foot away from the bed than down the hall. I guess in the best few weeks I'll move the RnP into his room for a week and then transition him to the crib.

This past week LO started rolling around like crazy! I miss my stationary baby. He can only roll one way now but it's so cute.
I am busy working/pumping/momming.
My big fear is I have to do a 2 day out of town meeting mid-July and I'm so not looking forward to it, especially since I'm still BFing. Have any of you guys done this?? Tips???

cake I truly have no idea how I got a decent sleeper. I did nothing different from my other three, and they were such crappy sleepers! And I want to follow my own if it ain’t broke don’t fix it advice, except at 5+ Months I feel like I really need to attempt some transitions 😬🤦🏼♀️

ajetter I don’t have much advice. N will actually nap in her crib for around 20-60 mins at a time (more often on the short side but occasionally longer) and occasionally up to 2-3 hours at a time at night. I couldn’t get my first two in the crib at ALL on their own by this point so I’m happy even if it’s power naps lol!

ajetter K will be 6 months next week and we're still in the rnp. Ugh.... I know his ped wants him out but he's not rolling yet and he sleeps flat on his stomach at daycare but DH is too nervous to put him on tummy for night. So I'm in the same boat. I don't want to ruin a good thing but it's time to be a big boy. He's currently napping in said rnp so I'm obviously not trying.

tiffrobot jessijean glad we’re not alone! I felt like we were the only ones still relying on the RnP. I think I’m going to start pushing more and more crib sleep, but use the RnP for a bit longer here and there to keep us all sane. The fact that she can fall asleep on her own, something my other three NEVER did until we sleep trained (and lots and lots of crying), gives me hope that we can do this without too much loss of sleep.

Why does your throat always itch right when the baby falls asleep? I just coughed and scared the shit out of him! The toddler was coming up the stairs tho so I guess he would have woke up anyways. Please go to sleep child, thanks. I will have to say I have been pretty productive with 2 kids that fought naps all day. One more day of hottness I can do this.

But if you have a few days in a row coming up where you have help the next day and could nap, maybe try for the whole thing, night and unswaddled.

We crib at night since 12 weeks but she still naps I’m her swing. Her naps are shit though. I should attempt crib naps but she takes s pacifier sometimes at nap but never at night. I want the crib to be a pacifier free zone and that could be tricky at naptime.
ETA she does not fall asleep on her own. Nurses to sleep or my nanny does some Nanny magic and helps her to sleep. We need to work on that.

Make sure your hotel room has a fridge. I got a purse looking cooler bag that fit my pump and parts and kept my milk cold. Buy extra freezer packs and extra pumps. If you are flying give a few extra minutes for security. I’ve had some wonderful TSA agents and some major dicks. Ask them to put on new gloves if they touch your milk bags/bottles!

I miss the smell of fabric softener. DD doesn't have any apparent skin sensitivities, when is it considered safe to move away from fragrance free stuff?

I don't remember what we did with DD. ^ sorry - no help. I actually really like the smell of J's clothes with the Dreft! He is the only one that uses Dreft - the rest of us use non-fragrance free stuff
