Happy birthday, inthekitty! I hope you can get that 2nd opinion, tgrimes. I hate the idea of animals in pain.  vino - I fully admit to ducking out of the room when the news switches over to the separations. I'm heartbroken and nauseated about it as it is, I can't handle the audio or the pictures. It's inhumane. It makes me want to scream at all the assholes at my work who thought some of us were being OTT after the 2016 elections because "it doesn't make a difference for YOU!" Yeah well I have a soul, so it does matter. This is absolutely sickening. And "don't call us Nazis because we voted for him." Okay well kids are being taken away for "showers" sometimes never to be seen again so... |

Been waiting 45 minutes for an ear recheck at the pedi.. ridiculous. Have both boys today. I'm not sure what we'll do today. The neighbor is on vacation but her niece is staying there and uses the pool literally all freaking day. I just need an hour to wear my kids out for good naps! I signed the boys up for next session for swim lessons. I spoke to the instructor last night and she agrees that J doesn't need the next few "swimming starters" class. So he's jumping 3 levels. He had to start there since he's 2. But now I won't have to get in with either of them so I can get my tattoo now! The guy wouldn't do it while I had to be in the pool. Hmmm. We're planning to get matching sisters tattoos soon and I totally forgot about the pool. I have to ask. |

I would imagine it includes more than that. When we put our cats down, the prices vary depending on how you want the remains handled, plus if you are getting their ashes returned to you they include things like a paw print plaque, etc. It's actually really nice. I found a place that does all of that for $425. I'm not sure if MH will want it or not, but my vet just to put them down was $600. It did not include any extras. I already told MH that we need to change vets... If the 600 included all that stuff then that wouldn't be so bad. But if it's just to put them down, that's ridiculous. I think my vet charged me 125 for that. But I realize I'm in a low cost of living area. |

When I called to schedule, the guy told me the fastest way to get an infection is to get in a pool. He said I need to be out of the pool for a week and a half for healing to be complete. But it's pretty big an on my forearm, so I can't keep it out of the water. I'm sure if it was on your shoulder or something else higher on your body and you just didn't go under you'd be okay. They told her no pool for at least 2 weeks. |

My car thermometer just reported 106 degrees out. I didn't realize we had moved to the desert. B is wanting to go in the pool and I'm like, Kid, it's basically bathwater right now.
(Speaking of...did I tell y'all the pump broke down on Saturday night? The pool woes continue. They are coming to replace it tomorrow.)
We did our errands and now I really need to get motivated to do the grocery shopping, but it is just so hot. DH is flying today after work so it's a long day solo. On the upside, he is getting close to being finished with his private license.

Stuff I've read points to a spike in 2012-2014, when the number of families (as opposed to just individuals) attempting to cross started multiplying exponentially. So this is not a new problem, but I think there are probably multiple factors involved as to why we're just now starting to hear about it. eta: With all that said, immigration is a really tough issue with a lot of moving parts. (I don't think separating families is the right way to fix the problem, just to be clear.) |

I looked yesterday, I think Chicago is the closest they are coming. Pretty sure H wouldn't be happy with my getting a flight and hotel to Chicago, to see a concert.

Hi guys, I’m here and reading along. I feel so frustrated with this whole immigration thing. I wish I could be there at the centers, cuddling and comforting those children. It’s terrible. You have to be legit heartless to just rip children away from their families. This whole thing depresses me.
I was happy to see out governor pulled back our state’s national guard and refuses to support trump’s nonsense.

I'm so mad at myself...I decided to move the dining table back into the kitchen. I scratched the floors in multiple places. I'm crying. They're going to come back tomorrow and fix it for me.
I should have gone to work.

I’m not cut out for a dance mom. Registration for next year started at 4. I showed up exactly at 4 and the line was out the door. I’ve barely moved. They sent out all the forms ahead of time so i don’t know how it can be so long or what time people showed up. This is ridiculous.
