The weather is predicted to reach the mid 90s with 100% humidity. I'm going to attempt to huddle in my ice cave of an office and not go outside unless necessary. What are you all up to today?

Sorry I wasn't around much yesterday. The pediatrician appointment was beyond rough. K SCREAMED from the time the nurse put her on the scale to the time we got back into the car. We had a new dr. that we haven't seen before. He was thorough but had as much bedside manor as a wooden board. It didn't help that K was completely inconsolable. I also was running late to the appointment so while I grabbed snacks, I forgot the binkie in the car. I did mention my concern about her chest congestion and "juicy" cough and how mh and I were on antibiotics for a nasty sinus infection. He said her lungs were clear and that he wasn't too concerned (I have no idea how he could hear anything through her ruckus, we had to yell at each other over her to talk). He said to wait another week and then we could try an antibiotic. We didn't even get to go over milestones, so if anyone knows what a 15 month should be doing, please let me know. She did weigh in at 19lbs 2oz putting her in the 25th percentile!!!! I have a stupid gripe about the nurse, but I'll post that later.

Yesterday we had a play date with LO's bestie, they have a blow up splash pad, it was so hot but the girls had a lot of fun. LO didn't want to leave there house, she ran away from me and grabbed onto a leg of their kitchen table and wouldn't let go. It was really cute.
Today we have a meetup at an indoor play gym. Hopefully it's not too too crowded but school is out here so we'll see... this place is more aimed at the 3 and under crowd so hopefully it's ok.

sheilathetank This thread title made me laugh. Sorry about K's doctor visit though I hope her cough clears up soon and bummer about the stiff doctor.

I have work for a couple hours before I leave to go to our monthly team meeting with the team including parents for our kids. It is going to be super interesting I have a feeling.
I'm sure I pissed off the SW with going above their head since I was not getting calls or e-mails back on serious things I needed to hear back on. And magically yesterday I got follow-up because of what I did. If that makes me a bitch so be it. It was warranted.
Please pray for us for our meeting today.
After that is done I go back to work and we have a foster care picnic after work.

It was an exciting day for DS at school. Since it was the second to last day of the year, the "ice cream truck man" came and all the kids got to pick out a treat. DS never gets candy and i think he's only tried ice cream once, so the orange dreamsicle he picked out was super exciting for him. His teacher sent me a picture of him holding the dreamsicle with this totally confused look on his face. Hahahaha.
When he got home, I asked him how the ice cream was, and he said "Brrrrrrrr!" Hilarious.

Not much going on here. My morning meeting was cancelled, but my boss should be back today so I'm expecting to fill that space with some briefing from him.
I know, my life is super exciting.

Sorry about K's appointment sheilathetank. Our ped wanted her saying upwards of 5 words and understanding their meaning/using them in context, and working on balance/walking at 15m. That may have been it, I can't totally remember. E was also inconsolable that appointment so my brain is fuzzy. It's regents time at school, so I'm just chilling in my classroom until I have to proctor an exam this afternoon. It's so weirdly quiet in the building. No noisy kids blasting music, swearing, or horsing around in the hallways. I might gorge myself on Chinese food at Wegmans for lunch today. That sounds good.

Today I get to pick up my new car! I'm excited. We have to bring my DD though which could be less than ideal. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Nothing too fun this morning. We've got to squeeze in laundry, a bath, allergy shots, and groceries before naptime.

It's way hot here too, but that means good things for the garden 😉 Vs 15m checkup was canceled today because her pediatrician is out sick, so I think we will head to the gym this morning.

I'm glad you spoke up and did what you had to. You are not a bitch. You are a concerned foster parent that needs answers.

Morning! I had a good night. Baby STTN, a 1st! I couldn't enjoy it as much since L woke up with a nightmare at 1 am. Poor kid. We were outside last night and something fell or touched his eye. I washed his eyes out and he looked fine. MOTN he wakes up and covers his eyes with his hands and says "my eyes!" Wouldn't let me look just wanted me to wash them out again. It's a heat wave here this week. I need to go buy tampons but DNW to leave the office middle of the day. My car's AC is also acting up. It works really well unless it's really hot out.

Seriously, this heat is killing me, I can't handle going out and doing things. Sweaty, bloated, and nauseous... woof!

littlelionPoof... on the one hand it's a long time coming but on the other hand it feels crazy bc I am only PT and WFH on a super flexible non traditional schedule. But we do have a lot of ppl who also work remotely or in satellite offices, and across time zones.

jewel, can I ask what kind of work you do? Are you excited at the opportunity or dreading it? Managing seems to add on hours to the day.

sheilathetank, You are not alone. DS1 is 3 and loses his ever loving mind when we go to the doctor. I had to take him with me when I took the baby to his 6 month appointment a couple weeks ago and it was horrible. I explained to him before we left that we had to take DS2 to the doctors and that DS1 could just sit and play and I had bring a couple of cars and a book. As soon as we get into the parking lot he starts asking to go home. I tell him again that the doctor is going to check on DS2 and that he can play with his cars. We get into the building and he just keeps saying "back to car, please. Back to car, please" over and over. We get into the room and as soon as the nurse walks in he just loses it. He cried/screamed the entire time we were there. I even tried You Tube videos on my phone, the nurse tried to give him a sucker, nothing worked. He cried more than the baby and the baby got 3 shots. He does the same thing when we go to get his hair cut (which is only like twice a year, because it's awful). And FFTC, he's 3 and we still have never been to the dentist. I KNOW I need to make him appointment like yesterday, but I know how it's going to go and I feel so much anxiety just thinking about. I don't know how to help him not be so terrified. We read books and I've had him watch different shows about going to the doctor and whatnot, and nothing seems to help. Well, that turned into a novel. TL;DR: DS1 also screams bloody murder at the doctor and I have no idea how to fix it and I feel your pain.

On a different note, for everyone wanting to escape the heat, just come to Seattle. It's suppose to be in the 60's with rain all week. Yay PNW.
Also, I'm torn between what to get for lunch. The best fried chicken place is on the menu for the delivery service but my favorite taco truck is coming as well. So, spicy fried chicken or carne asada tacos?

I vote tacos!
