This week in toddlerhood: 1. Anytime she's seen anybody sleeping this week she waves at them and says "byeeee!!" And then she cracks up laughing because she thinks it's hysterical! Also, I took her to the library one day and they have all kinds of life size imaginative play set-ups (a boat, hollowed tree, bus, etc) and she just wanted to push the stool around in leiu of a walker. 2. It was a good week! She's not defaulting to butt scooting quite as much and she's taken a few tiny, little unassisted steps. She may walk before kindergarten, you guys! The hitting has decreased this week! Oh, and she's developed happy feet. When she's excited she'll kick both feet if she's sitting or do a little shuffle when she's standing. It is adorbs. 3. The toddlertude. So much of it. The swinging arms accompanied by "noooo..." The fits if the smallest thing doesn't go her way. Also, meals are more challenging these days. Sigh. QOTW: Pride and Prejudice. The Kiera Knightly version even though they strayed from the book in a lot of ways. I love the videography and the score, though!

Thanks for the check-in, mellyknu . And hai RoRo! So glad she's improving with her walking, Mel! 1. The Funny: I talk to her like an adult most of the time, which includes a kind of play-by-play when I'm trying to do something (i.e. having to grab something from the other room in preparation for us to leave the house). Most of the time I'll say "okay?" at the end, just as a way of speaking. This last week or so, she's randomly responded back with "ohhh taaay" in the littlest of disappointed voices, and it has made me smile so hard. 2. The Heartwarming: On Friday, DC told me she spends a majority of her time during recess/outside time playing in the playhouse they have on the playground. I'd been eyeing playhouses for awhile, but wasn't ready to drop the $$ on one quite yet, because I didn't know whether or not she'd play with it. After Friday, naturally, I had to have one. So, I had it delivered/set up on Saturday during naptime to surprise her. You guise. She lost. her. shit. Like, dropped her baby doll, legit squealed, and ran as fast as she could towards it. Christmas is going to be so much more fun this year. 3. The Challenges: Toddler be toddlering. Nothing that would shock any of you at this period of time in parenting. QOTW: What movie could you watch again and again? Clueless or Fracture.

Thanks for the check in!
1. The Funny: He has a rocking horse that he likes to sit on and do, what I call, directing his troops. He will sit there and gesture and talk at the world around him.
2. The Sweet: He only gives loves to me. And I selfishly flaunt that shit.
3. Challenges: He is still running a low grade fever from cutting his molar (which is taking forever). We are going on three weeks now, which seems just a bit to long.
QOTW: LOTR the two towers. It's my fave.

The Funny: He has started making insanely expressive faces. I need to get some photos of them. He has an "uh oh" face when he drops stuff, a "I don't know about this" face, and a shit-eating grin when he's about to do something he shouldn't!
The Sweet: He woke up yesterday and I picked him up and he snuggled into my shoulder. Then he slung his arm around me and started patting my back. Dead.
The Challenging: AZ is way too hot for him. Even in the AC he's just miserable and having a really tough time sleeping.
QOTW: The Sandlot. One of my favorites as a kid.

1. She's discovered that stealing someone's phone and running away with it will get you to play with her, so she's been stealing the girls' phones and running down the hall giggling. Then she'll just sit down in the living room all proud of herself waiting for you. Lol 2. She's been really sweet with F lately. For example, yesterday morning F was snuggled under blankets laying on the couch, but R wanted to play with him, so they just held hands and passed a toy back and forth with their free hands for like 5 minutes. They hold hands ALL THE TIME and it's the sweetest thing ever. 3. She's been refusing naps or having a really hard time going down. I'm tempted to try to mess with her naps, but they're already so all over the place I'm not sure. I think she would do better with one long nap, but until our friends move out I don't think it's worth trying. 4. Share a pic from the week, if you please!

mellyknu add me and M you July 15 please! 1. M has been insisting for a while that H plays his guitar from him daily, he says guitar and runs down the hall until H complies. But the last week or so M has started singing along. Or should I say almost melodically yelling along. 2. He's been adding a lot of words recently. In about 3 months he's gone from less than 10 to over 30! He's really catching up on his speech, I'm so proud. 3. Teething. Canines have been coming in for months. They're breaking through finally, but it's causing all the issues. PDQ GTKY Princess Bride

1. G has learned how to sneak up on people. He did this to my aunt Sunday and it was funny to see him "tiptoe" and walk up behind her. He's so loud though, I don't know how he pulled it off.
2. I stepped on a lego block the other night and said ouch. G came running and gave me a hug.
3. Nothing comes to mind as far challenging things go.

mellyknu I love the score to the Kiera Knightly P&P as well! I have the BBC one and it's much truer to the book but annoying that it's a bunch of episodes. Thanks for the check-in BTW. I can't remember the questions! Darn cell access. E is 16.5 ish months. So this week she's super into this goofy Chicka ABC book someone got her and we have to read it over and over. She calls it her "BC's" and will beg for it over and over. She has started to call me "my mama" to other people. Sweetest two words ever. She's also much more into her babies. She sleeps with this lamb (Lucy) and rabbit and she wants them everywhere with her. She calls them "Uce" and "bun bun." Lots of toddler behavior today because she missed her nap because she went to VBS with my mom which doesn't end until 1230. It's going to be a long week... QOTW: I can rewatch Harry Potter or Pride and Prejudice over and over.

nikiswims, the score is so versatile. Depending on the scene I feel like it conveys different emotions. I just love it!

DS is almost 2!
1) He has a perfect imitation of my nickname for DH. And he has started using it to call for him and get him to do stuff. It is amazing! He's also been trying (or trying to try) new foods and his reaction faces crack me up. Especially when he wants something spicy. He'll make a terrible face and say "I don't like it," and then go back for more!! 2) His conversations with his animals and baby doll are so so cute. He has a high pitched voice he uses for baby doll and they talk a lot about saying "I love you mama." Heart, melted. 3) Messes. Meal time. Meal time is the messiest thing ever. I hate it. He can use a fork and spoon, but it is like he gets so impatient with the process of using them, that he switches back to hands in order to shove as much food in his mouth as quickly as possible. The mess is just insane.

1- She's started making kissy/fishy faces, it's so funny 2- She's not a snuggler, but lately when she's tired she will curl right up to my chest to sleep. I love it. 3- Fear of strangers. We are looking for a new church and it's impossible to put her in the nursery. She literally screams the entire time. She's too loud to keep in church with us so we usually end up either leaving early or one of us ends up having to go sit in the nursery with her.

1. My husband tried to read her a book this week and she pushed his face away and said mama. Then she took the book and brought it to me. I thought it was hilarious, he didn't. 😉
2. we had a play date yesterday and she randomly gave the other girl a hug and a kiss on the head. 3. Molars!! She is moody as heck.

I'm late as usual.
1. G loves his little horse and barn set. His favorite thing to do is put the horses in one by one and each time says "night night horsey". And it's too cute.
2. He's been super cute with his baby sister. All the hugs and giving her toys and trying to feed her.
3. I mean...I dealt with a 20 min tantrum the other day because I put a shirt on him 🙄.
QOTW: call me cheesy but I could watch Under the Tuscan Sun and Tangled a million times.

mellyknu can I join? I just made my way over from the other site. I've been more of a lurker ever since my twins were born, so I was a little slow to all the drama. I followed the original exodus from TB, and I wasn't sure I posted enough to once again switch sites... but then I remembered how much I appreciated having this community when I was trying to get pregnant, and I realized I wasn't ready to give it up, even if I haven't posted as much lately. So, here I am! My girls, K and H, were born in June of 2016. I can't believe they are already a year old!! 1. K just started to blow raspberries on my arms. She thinks it's hilarious, which of course cracks me up. 2. We took them to their first baseball game this weekend. H loved everything about it, but K got scared whenever the home team did something good that got the crowd riled up. The first few home runs she dissolved into hysterics and I hugged her until she calmed down. By the end of the game, whenever the crowd cheered she learned to press her face into my chest until the noise died down and she didn't even cry. It was the sweetest thing. 3. K still wakes up 1-3 times per night. We sleep trained them when they were five months old. H hasn't woken up at night since then - she did exactly what the book predicted. K goes to sleep easily at bedtime but rarely sleeps through the night. When she cries we feed her either 1oz of milk or 1oz of water. That's not a lot - I think the sucking calms her down. I know we need to cut out the feedings, but she completely flips out and gets herself all kinds of riled up. In the interest of not waking up H we always just give in. We are creating a monster and I don't know how to stop. {Spoiler - Picture}Here are my girls at a birthday party for one of their friends: QOTW: A Knight's Tale with Heath Ledger! ETA: It looks like I didn't link the picture correctly but I'm not sure how to fix it
