These themes are all so cute! mrsmonogrammed your daughter is the cutest!! Love the mermaid theme. I donât think I have the energy to think about themes for this one yet. I do love looking at Pinterest for all of the ideas though. I did âThe Little Princeâ (the book) for DS1âs first birthday. We didnât do anything for his second (I was in trial so I didnât have a ton of time - I still feel guilty) and for his third we did a PJ Masks theme. So far itâs just been family though since we donât really know any kids his age. With him starting preschool in the fall I am hoping next yearâs will be fun.

My oldestâs was a country picnic: lots of gingham & burlap, barbecue & fruit pies. My middleâs was Adelyn in ONEderland & we did a mad hatter tea party brunch. I may do a Kentucky derby theme this year. Mostly because I want the fun hats đ Ok ONEderland sounds seriously wonderful and I may need to do that. Wonderland is a big deal in our house, it was the movie H and I saw on our first âdateâ We did ONEderland for DD1âs first birthday. I *might* have gone a little crazy. I even had a custom Alice dress made.

My first we did Our Little Lady and it was ladybug theme. Our second was born the week before Christmas and we did a Winter One-derland theme with a hot cocoa bar and snowflakes.
ETA: I see Iâm late on the Onederland convo

I just had a bit of a hissy fit. E went to sleep around 8 but woke up shortly after. I tried to get her back to sleep for 1.5 before i finally handed her off to SO so I could shower and have a second to myself. I came back and he didn't even try to get her to sleep. She was just laying on the bed chatting with him. So I walked and bounced her for another 30 minutes before she finally fell asleep 10 minutes ago. Try harder bro. I'm so tired you guys. I have literally been holding this baby for a week straight, she does not want me to put her down.

Anybody dreamfeeding? I think Iâm going to try starting tonight. I think it depends on the kid? But both my kids have done it. With this one, if he is not fully awake but fidgeting in his sleep, and itâs âtimeâ (aka Iâm already up and I donât feel like waiting to see if/when he wakes), Iâll scoop him up and offer and he will just open his mouth and nurse. If heâs dead asleep he doesnât do it. So not fully asleep or fully awake is key for us. The nursing session never lasts as long as when heâs actually awake but it does the trick for a MOTN feeding. Hope Iâm making sense!

So um...sorry TMI...
...but my kid hasnât pooped for FOUR days. He usually goes 2-3 times per day. We gave him some prune juice today in the PM but so far nothing. Weâve also massaged, done bicycles kicks, etc. He is definitely uncomfortable. I mean he hasnât stopped screaming for about two days. Any other tips??? When do I start getting worried (more than I already am)?

My oldest would go up to 5 days. Since BM is adjusting to your babyâs needs there sometimes can be less waste, especially if itâs a growth spurt. Iâd keep doing all the things youâre doing. So I dreamfeeding around 10. He barely woke but had a decent snack, he still woke at 2 and has been up for an hour. I thought I was golden.

I have to change DSâs diaper before a feed because he is a very heavy wetter. I donât think we could dream feed without changing him âčïž

She always had a giant blowout when we sat her in it. Worked for my cousins girl too. Havenât been able to do it with DD2 yet. Sheâs too wobbly.

Not sure if youâve tried this, but using a rectal thermometer for some stimulation has helped a few times when L hadnât pooped in a while. Heâs gone up to 6 days before, but Iâm pretty sure he was going through a growth spurt at the time. My pedi said to call if it had been a week or longer or if he was clearly uncomfortable, which it sounds like your DS is. Iâd try the rectal temp and call your pedi in case they have any other recommendations. ETA +1 to the sit me up seat helping with a poop!

I thought the cold was going away, but itâs back in full force. I may call the pedi today because itâs been over a week now and heâs nursing much less the last two days. Should I pump after he nurses a few times? Iâm always (probably irrationally) afraid my supply is going to tank for some reason, but I feel like this could actually cause that right?

I am loving the birthday themes. mrsmonogrammed those pics were đ. I dream feed DS before I go to bed if he hasn't woke up since I put him to bed. Which recently we haven't been good about a set bedtime so he's up at random times, otherwise he's really good about being out for the night and I can put him straight back to bed after any feedings. I woke up at 3 in pain. I think I have a clogged duct. So this is fun. đ«

My toddler has been a nightmare lately. Sheâs suddenly afraid of the dark. She wonât sleep. Sheâs up at the crack of dawn. Wonât nap. Is a goddamn tired terror all day, repeat. I am so done.

This happened to my toddler after we went away for a few days. When she stayed with my parents, they didnt' realize people sleep with the lights off so she got used to sleeping with the lights on and wouldn't let me turn them off for a long time. I finally took her to the store and let her pick out a new nightlight and got her to agree to let me put only that on and it's worked. Maybe try that?
In other "my parents are trying to kill me" news, they didn't remember how they were supposed to put Elle to sleep yesterday, so she slept on her stomach. Because my two year old told them so.
I told you she's going to try and kill her sister. I just didn't know my parents would be accomplices.

Thanks sweetc129, ArielMermaid and clementine for the advice. Yes he is EBF and I know itâs ânormalâ that they can go days but L never has gone more than 24 hours without going so itâs abnormal here. Weâve tried all of these tips already and no luck. Iâm going to keep trying today and hope for the best. If he wasnât so fussy I wouldnât really care but heâs been...not fun lately.

My toddler has been a nightmare lately. Sheâs suddenly afraid of the dark. She wonât sleep. Sheâs up at the crack of dawn. Wonât nap. Is a goddamn tired terror all day, repeat. I am so done. Thatâs frustrating. And itâs a vicious cycle - no sleep probably leads to more exhaustion which just increases the terrible moods. I feel like we went through a phase where DS1 went through this too. We started by working on naps - we gave him something to distract him when he went for naps. So we started letting him take books to âreadâ until he got sleepy. Heâs loved it. Also my ILs just gave this toy flashlight to DS1 - he loves it and takes it to bed with him. It lets him play until he is tired and also gives him light (in addition to a night light). We have also talked to him about shadows and how cool they are so he will play with the shadows in his room. Maybe it would help? www.amazon.com/Melissa-Doug-Flashlight-Easy-Grip-Handle/dp/B01AD1TDNU?keywords=flashlight+toy

ArielMermaid +1 to everything with my toddler too. i was in tears last night. i am really struggling with her and feel totally out of control. iâm currently reading 3 toddler books to figure out wtf i am doing clementine im sorry you are dealing with the nursing issues. youâre pumping at work right? when my girl was sick and not nursing well my pedi who is an ibclc recommended pumping at least once a day after nursing but she told me not to go too crazy with it. i think she sensed how stressed i was. if you have a well established supply you should recover just fine

cornpop that would make me nervous too. Hopefully theyâll call you in the future. I dropped a bottle of wine coming in from the car this afternoon so I have a sticky, shattered glass mess in my driveway. So gross. And now, no wine. Also gross. Baby is fighting naptime again today so I expect a perfectly awful afternoon/evening. Anyoneâs baby sleep super light? Iâm laying next to him and every time I so much and move never mind make any sound (like swallowing!!) he startled and wakes up. Heâs still swaddled fwiw.

T & p to polson and ArielMermaid and anyone else with horrific toddlers. My 3 year old has been atrocious the last few days. He is just so angry. Yesterday at story time he stared me down from the opposite side of the room and then picked up his mat and threw it at me like a frisbee. He missed the baby's face by inches. The day only got worse after that.
