Apparently The Incredibles 2 scared my children.
They both said that it was scary and they didn’t like it when I asked how it was.
My kids are easily scared, I think.

Have any of you had Lasik done? Is it as life changing as I have heard? I had my consult today and I am totally sold because I have been in glasses/contacts for 21yrs, I just need to convince my H with perfect vision that it is worth spending the money on. I plan on getting this done next spring. WE ARE TWINS!!

Both kids are asleep. I’m going to shower and then I’m garaging with my neighbor. Happy Saturday!

Both of those hats are too small because we both have huge heads and it’s impossible to find any that fit. I see we are twins. Triplets!

FWIW I don’t know anyone who regrets it. I’ve been in glasses / contacts about the same amount of time and a eye exam and year supply of contacts typically run me about $800 after insurance/rebates. So really LASIK would pay for itself after a few years.

Lasik has always scared me but to not need corrective lenses would be amazing! I've been in glasses or contacts for at least 35 years! 35. Years!!! My mom said I started having vision trouble even earlier but getting a toddler to wear anything was a battle she couldn't win lol.

DH went out with the guys tonight leaving me to do bedtime for both kids and deal with the puppy. She slept most of the afternoon and is going crazy right now. Hopefully tonight will be better but I'm not counting on it.

I want lasik too. DH keeps telling me to make an appointment. In the ling run it will save so much money. I’m going to have to make a spreadsheet for MH to show him how much it will save us in the long run. He’s not getting it at the moment.

I had it done in 2005 and I am close to needing a retouch and/or low prescription glasses. But my eyesight was so awful when I got it done that the surgeon told me at the time that I’d likely need glasses again by my early 40s.
I do have dry-eye and need to do lubricating drops when I wake up every morning. And I do get pretty significant halos when driving at night.
All that said, it was so worth it. The pros outweigh the cons tenfold.

Unrelated note, we are watching Baywatch and whenever the Rock speaks, all I can picture is Maui. Even when I see him talking, all I see is a long haired, egotistical island man.

How did painting go? I wanted to ask you how to do touch ups and have the paint match? I'm Always afraid it won't look right, can you do small spots here and there? What I've done so far is looking good, but I only ended up getting a couple of spots today. We weren't sure what the paint was, but we knew it was Sherwin Williams, so we took a little chip off a spot where it's not noticeable, and had them match the paint for us. It's turning out well even with just doing spots. ETA We've been careful to kind of feather out the paint around the edges to "blur" the lines a bit. That's a good idea about blurring lines part. We have some spots that have spackle on them from minor patch jobs and I can't decide if I should just paint the whole wall😬 Thanks for the tips.

It’s funny because someone in one of my FB Mom groups just asked the same thing, so I’ll tell you the same thing: I had it done in 2011, and I don’t regret it at all. It’s honesly the best thing I’ve ever done for myself, even over a tummy tuck and breast lift. It’s so worth the money, even if only for the convenience it will afford you. No worries about swimming, traveling and accidentally forgetting your glasses, no falling asleep and waking up with crooked glasses, etc. It’s been 7 years for me, and I still remember the hassle of glasses and contacts. TL;DR: do it!!

MH was watching some talk show, probably Ellen, and he was on being interviewed. Ds1 and I were one room over and both shouted “Maui!” as soon as we heard his voice.

The thought of Lasik stresses me out, but being able to see without glasses would be amazing. I promise it’s not that bad. They give you a Valium before the procedure and put in lots of numbing eye drops beforehand. He did my right eye first, and in that time the numbing wore off my left eye, and it really wasn’t that bad. Wearing protective goggles for a week and having halos around lights while driving at night was the worst of my side effects. Do it!!
