How far along are you? 30+4

How are you feeling (physically/emotionally)? E- okay for the most part. If I wake up and he doesn't kick quickly I start to worry but then he kicks and I'm like phewwww. I need to reign in my spiraling of bad thoughts of what can happen between now and post-birth (cord around neck, true knots, meconium aspiration, pphn, etc). Being a NICU RN and having loss brain does not help. I'm also having crazy mood swings. Woof. My poor DH. I am a cranky crazy mess these last few days.

Physically- heartburn and feet/ankle swelling. I just feel wiped out. And large.

Any appointments or milestones coming up this week? Not til next week

Do you need any thoughts or prayers? I'm okay

Anything else you'd like to share? We got a mini crib from a friend, so now idk if we still need a pnp? I had picked a pnp out that had a changing pad and a bouncy chair thing also, so we could use those things, too. But if we have a mini crib, do we need the pnp? 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

QotW: what is your all time favorite summer drink? Just a simple lemonade or iced tea. Alcoholic- sangria!

addymac, I registered for a similar one and ended up returning it for something much more basic. I think it makes sense if your planning on setting it up somewhere and using on a regular basis? Do you have a changing table or area already? We used a changing pad on top of the bureau so never had a need to set the pnp up.

addymac – solidarity on the spiraling of bad thoughts of what can happen between now and birth. I think it is our brain’s way of protecting our heart after enduring so much pain to get to this point. I wish I could say it goes away, but I won’t lie to you. As for the PnP, it is one of the best purchases we made and it still gets used today with a 19mo old. We only use/used it as a crib when traveling, but have it permanently set up downstairs with the diaper changing attachment stuff on to give us a dedicated area to change diapers. It has been used literally every single day since TT has been born, and will continue to be used daily with this LO.

How far along are you? 30wks.

How are you feeling (physically/emotionally)? Physically, it is catching up to me. I put the toddler to bed by 7, and I’m usually in bed/asleep by 8-8:30. This is .. very unlike me, because I’m definitely a night owl who gets a second wind in the evenings. Emotionally, I’m sitting at the same table as addymac . I am just waiting for the other shoe to drop, and I still don’t believe we will be taking home another healthy baby. I’m not sure that I will feel that way until we are actually home.

Any appointments or milestones coming up this week? Nothing this week. OB appt next week.

Do you need any thoughts or prayers? Just that I make it through these next few weeks with my sanity intact. My H should be home in a month or so, and I’m doing the best I can to physically and emotionally power through the solo parenting FT working thing.

Anything else you'd like to share? Not that I can think of right now.

How far along are you? 30 weeks! (HOW did this happen???)

How are you feeling (physically/emotionally)? Physically my swollen feet suck and emotionally I'm freaking out about the baby's room but I need DH to help me with it. I have plans for it to be at least painted next week.

Any appointments or milestones coming up this week? Baby shower in my hometown is Saturday.

Do you need any thoughts or prayers?Nope!

Anything else you'd like to share? Our birthing classes are next week on Tuesday and Thursday. I think this will help both mine and DH's anxiety. I feel like we know nothing so I'm hoping this helps and that they tell us some specifics to our hospital.

QotW: what is your all time favorite summer drink? All time favorite is iced tea. Since I can't drink this summer I've been making homemade syrups to flavor it and it's been so good. This week I made mojito syrup (non alcoholic of course) and a Honey Lemon Mint syrup. So good.
However, an ice cold bottle of champagne on a summer night is amazing!

addymac, We got that PNP with the changed and other chair. Haven't opened it yet but I'm also in the if I have this do I need that camp? I feel like we are getting things that do multiple tasks and I don't know what we need and what we don't.

How far along are you? 30+1

How are you feeling (physically/emotionally)?
Physically pretty darn good! I haven't been sleeping the greatest, so a little tired, but other then that and some BH nothing to complain about. Baby has been very active, and the kicks are good and strong. It was really funny yesterday though when baby got hiccups!

Emotionally I'm feeling a little nervous and stressed. Some of it has been worry and drama with my sister who has been in a bad relationship and is FINALLY getting out of it. The rest is anxiety with the quickly coming end of this pregnancy. I still don't have a nursery. H has started painting, but it's been really slow going. We still need to rip out the rug so I can wash the walls, then finish painting and lay the flooring so I can start washing things. We also had out prenatal classes the last 2 Saturdays, and I must say they were NOT helpful! They were each 3 hours long, and I walked out of there having learned nothing. She told us that relaxation was important and then "go look up methods online of how to breathe". We watched a few things on breastfeeding, but it was already stuff I knew. I think being both a nurse and an early childhood educator has put me ahead of the game in some ways, but I was really hoping for some specific methods to use, not several endorsements for calming playlists on YouTube and 6 hours about how lucky we are to be having babies now with all the pain killers and fun baby items that they didn't have when she had her kids.

I finally get to see my MW today! It's been 8 long weeks!!!!!!!     They called at noon and canceled because she got called to the hospital to deliver a baby. I know that that is part of her job, but I'm getting really tired of being bumped. The last time I saw her I was 22 wks pregnant. That's pretty much forever ago.

Do you need any thoughts or prayers?
I don't think so, although has anyone heard from Bug lately?

addymac, like you I sometimes get so overwhelmed and spiral on thoughts about all the things that can go wrong between now and 40 weeks.. or heck even during giving birth or right after. Work has taken me into the NICU many times and I've seen a lot in my direct surroundings as well. Sometimes tis a blessing sometimes tis a curse. *hugs* Being a loss mom sure isn't helping.. I knew/expected the first part of this pregnancy to be hard but somehow expected it to get easier over time. And in a way it did yet at the same time the same ol' PgAL brain keeps messing me up. Frustrates the heck out of me sometimes!? But this is how it is and I have to be kind to myself as well.

ketchup, here's another nightowl who doesn't recognize her current bedtimes! A month to go still before YH comes back home? Ooof! Wish I could send you a can of energy (or a temporary nanny?!) When will you go on leave?

king26, ahh your baby shower is tomorrow! Will you update us on it in the babyshower thread? I'd love to hear how it was! I'm sorry you're freaking out a bit over the nursery - I get it though! We have to start on ours still, and tbh it's making me very nervous and a little upset at times. But I'm confident that we'll pull it off in time. And you know what? In case baby does come early.. well so be it. She'll be sleeping in our room those first months anyway and while it'd be real nice to have her room ready when she comes home tis also not the end of the world if it's not. Or at least that is what I keep telling mysefl

elliecat17, sorry to hear about your sisters situation but I'm glad she's finally getting out of her bad relationship. And I know right, how can it be that within 10 weeks give or take we'll be taking our babies home already?!! I feel somewhat overwhelmed by that thought tbh, but at the same time also am looking forward to it? It's an odd feeling. As I wrote to king26 just above, we haven't started on the nursery just yet... we meant to do a lot the last weekend of May but then I broke my ankle and all plans went down the drain. But I stay positive that some how we'll get it done What a shame those classes at the hospital weren't usefull. I have signed up for a BF class in July and we may or may not be able to go to an info evening about giving birth at the hospital next week.. Not sure what to think of them but I do hope they are useful and not a waste of time.

As for updates on Bug's babies - I have to get on FB to read her updates, it's been a while. I wondered whether to ask her whether she'd like for someone to cross post on A17 but with everything going on I haven't had a chance (and also didn't want to bug her)..

muscari, I know the nursery will be fine even if baby is born before it's ready since he will be sleeping in our room for a while but I'd rather have it finished. I'll update about shower tomorrow. It's going to be small (15 people) but my mom and cousin are working really hard on it. I bake as a side job and my cousin found a boutique bakery to get my cake and cookies from because she wanted it to be as good as my stuff which I'm sure is costing her a fortune. My mom wanted to get me a cake from Sam's Club so I appreciate my cousins effort.
Also, I saw Bug was posting recently on the preemie board and read some updates there.


I just ordered a 3 in 1 bassinet, rock n play type thing, and seat for $80 on Amazon. We already received a Rock N Play at our shower and I wanted a bassinet that's about $150 so if the 3 in 1 works we'll take the Rock N Play back and use the money towards the 3 in 1 which will save us like $200!

31+1 - in the single digits now, wth?

How are you feeling (physically/emotionally)?
Physically I'm doing alright I think. Just some of the reguler 3rd trim symptoms but none of them are too bad. Worst has been my hip pain which can make sleeping a bit of a struggle but with enough pillows and switching positions every hour orso I end up sleeping well enough. Emotionally I'm doing so so, though that isn't really related to the pregnancy right now. Just struggling with not being able to do a thing while my ankle heals.. I'm not made to just lay in bed and/or sit in a chair all day long weeks in a row. Good news is that I had my 2nd check up on Wednesday and was given a "walking cast" or whatever tis called - and was allowed to start putting some weight on my ankle again and start practicing walking. Ahhhh, I hadn't thought i'd get the go-ahead for that for another 2 weeks! The first steps were friggin scary lol but I practised some more yesterday and today I hardly touched my wheelchair. I even made my way upstairs once, score! Still need to take things easy and not overdo it obviously but omgosh I feel so much better already!

I went by the MFM office on Wednesday to ask them about my anti-D shot, and was told it was fine to get it at my appointment on the 19th so that was a relief.

These past weeks I've been freaking out about the nursery and not being prepared and all.. I have the urge to nest but none of that was possible cause of my ankle, and instead of tidying and cleaning around the house the place only became more and more messy since MH ended up working 13 shifts in a row (ok 12 with one measly day off) and has been too knackered to stay on top of chores (understandably so). But I've found some sort of calm and peace while being on modified bedrest these past weeks.. and while I'm not happy about the circumstances I do believe that things will eventually fall into place and will be alright. I feel a little stressed about certain things like the nursery (which we have done zero on so far - planned on getting a lot done last weekend of May but yeah then my ankle happened) but you know what? Maybe the baby does come early.. well so be it. She'll be sleeping in our room those first months anyway (nts: you do have to get the stuff together to get the crib set up soonish) and while it'd be real nice to have her room ready when she comes home tis also not the end of the world if it's not. Or at least that is what I keep telling myself But it helps keep the craycray and stress away a little.

I love me some lemonade (preferably pink but they don't sell that here) in summer! Tho I've been on a fanta zero sugar added kick lately, mmm.

Yeah me too, I rather would just have it finished well ahead of time. I dunno why but I worry that otherwise maybe it won't end up being like I want it to be or something and the thought of that makes me... sad? This is going to be our one and only baby and I just want her to have a sweet nursery. Don't care about any of the other rooms in the house as long as this one will be done properly.

Ahh thanks for mentioning Bug is posting on the preemie board - will nose around there tomorrow. Just logged in to FB briefly and saw her recent updates, seems the babies are hanging in there and are doing alright given circumstances. Makes me so happy and relieved to read.

Sounds like a great deal you scored on Amazon! We were offered to use a friends bassinet which is a really sweet one so we said yes. Just have to go pick it up and make sure I got fitting bedding etc (if not my mum wants to sew some . One thing we really do NEED to get still is the car seat.  And perhaps a pnp type of thing for in the livingroom, though I think we'll be using my sisters "box" (not sure what thats' called in English!)
