Hi all - just thought I'd share this for any podcast folks. There is a new podcast by a Huff.Po reporter and her husband called IVFML. It's a 5 episode podcast about their infertility journey and IVF. I'm only through one episode, but I will give a TW because they do discuss loss. Anyways, obviously I haven't gotten through much of it to give a full review, but I do like supporting people who are doing things like this to raise understanding and awareness regarding IVF and infertility.
As background - they started TTC while still pretty young (late 20s) and she has PCOS. Later they discover some MFI issues as well (based on just reading the one sentence episode summaries). I also should apparently work for Ver.izon or a subsidiary, because they have insurance coverage for $40k toward infertility. Muy jealous.

I binged the podcast when it dropped last week. LMK when you're done. I'd love to chat about it.

I don't think I've ever listened to a podcast. I'll have to check it out tomorrow.
Also, mad jealous about the 40k insurance coverage. Wonder if that is for all states?

I'll listen to episode 1 tomorrow on lunch! I'm excited. I like to listen to them on lunch, the last podcast I listened to was S-Town.

I've finished all five episodes now. I'm still undecided on my feelings about it.

daisy818 I listened to episode 1 today. I liked it. I laughed at several spots. I "yeah, girl, that's right" at some details. I found it interesting that the expert said to seek treatment after 6 months. I didn't realize the % of getting pregnant after 6 months drastically declined. I need to do some fact checking. I'm intrigued enough to finish it out.

daisy818 I'm mixed as well. I think what I found most interesting was the H's candid feelings. The episode on loss really rubbed me the wrong way. I have more thoughts, but it's too early to collect them!

**grad warning** (can't disable siggy but it is spoilered)
Does anybody know how I can listen to those on android? I googled and found the podcasts but when I play them (or try to) it will fastforward thru in less then a minute and I don't hear a thing. See an Apple sub link but I am on android and all. I am a true podcast noob... help? 😊

Episode 2: this one was really tough on me. They discuss pregnancy loss. I cried.

Episode 3: was ok. Nothing spectacular. It was about cost and funding IVF. They told exact costs they paid.
I'll just keep breaking down the episodes as I go! If anyone wants to discuss, jump in!

I think part of my mixed feelings are that I just found something about the husband annoying. I did like the first episode, and I liked that they interviewed various people throughout.

Ok so episode 4 was kind of a yawn for me. It's about MFI and it didn't apply to our situation. It did give insight to make perspective on doing @his thing" in a cup. I realized, I regularly dismiss MH role in all this. And since listening, I apologized to him for taking him and his feelings for granted.
Episode 5: their IVF results. I cried several times. They had recorded several things prior to developing and releasing the podcast. You hear in the moment talk by them regarding ET, Betas, bleeding, etc. hearing the stress in their voice, broke my heart. All the feelings I have felt before resurfaced.

I'm going to just be our resident IF podcast promoter I started listening to a new one this week (it launched in May, so it's still new-ish) called Miracle.s Ha.ppen Fertility Podcast. I think it's a good resource because it's a therapist who is focused more on the emotional/mental aspects of IF (she herself went through infertility) - there are not as many resources like that floating around, it seems. She also has fertility meditations on her website. The host, Maria Rothen.burger, is also a regular guest on another IF podcast that I listen to a lot. Check it out and let me know your thoughts! If you need a non-iTunes way to listen, she has the podcasts on her website (remove the extraneous period in the middle): www.drmariaro.thenburger.com/podcast/

daisy818 I didn't know Dr. Maria Rothenburger has her own podcast now! I assume you know her from the Beat Infertility podcast?

I just started listening to IVFML today. I find her a little annoying, I think it's the way all the jokes and sarcasm seem so scripted. I thought it was interesting that the doctor they interviewed said to seek medical help after 6 months regardless of age. That definitely doesn't seem to be a prevailing attitude.
