Age: 3 Milestones: He had his first non-family babysitter (I know, I know...), and it went very well! Challenges: Finding diapers for a college-aged kid, because that's where we're headed, y'all. Funny/cute stories: His new favorite compliment is "beautiful and stylish" a la Sunny Days on Nick Jr. A few days ago, he and I were at the coffee shop, and he said to the barista (who called him cute), "thank you. You are beautiful and stylish. I leave you now to see my dad." The little punk got a free cookie for it, and I didn't bother to tell the barista he called a lawn mower beautiful and stylish that very same morning How are you? At my wits' end with the kids' behavior lately, but it's starting to improve a bit. I just got through a big paperwork hurdle this morning for moving (medical clearance) so that is a big relief! I even have a few boxes packed now, so shit is getting real around here. Anything else? Nope! QOTW: He loves hide and seek and soccer. He's starting to get into board games, mostly Candyland.

Age: 3
Milestones:
Challenges: keeping him busy
Funny/cute stories: I asked another little kid for a hug and he cut her off and said no! My momma. It was cute and anytime I would ask this other kid a question he would answer the question as if I were talking to him. Heβs so oblivious.
How are you? So tired
Anything else? We start our summer class together next week, itβll be a nice change of scenery. We have a birthday party this weekend and Iβm interested to see how he behaves. He hasnβt gone to many birthday parties yet.
QOTW: What is your LO's favorite game? He really likes puzzles, throwing balls around outside, throwing the mini football, hopscotch

Age: 16 months
Milestones: He can safely navigate going up the stairs, and he does a decent job of going down. He wouldn't stay away from them, so we decided to do some stair training and it's going well.
Challenges: Communication. He's trying so hard to say words, but he just sounds like an angry drunk so there's lots of toddler yelling these days.
Funny/cute stories: My 5YO had pre-K graduation this week and every time he saw her on stage he yellllled her name reaaaallly loud LOL It was precious.
How are you? Surviving.
Anything else? We have a festival this weekend and I'm excited to let the kids run loose and enjoy some brews, food, and dessert! We need this fun event.
QOTW: Peak-a-Boo and mimicking everyone

Age: 9mo 3w Milestones: cruising. feeding himself with his fingers Challenges: sleep. although lately it's like two steps forward one step back, so it's an improvement! Funny/cute stories: Hah. We have a round ottoman in the living room. We put some of his toys on it so he can play with them while standing. One of them was on the far side of the ottoman. Instead of walking around to get it, he started to reach, and then tried to start climbing up it to get to it. I was like OH NOOOO BUDDY! he looked at me and laughed and swung his leg even higher! I pulled him down and brought the toy over but he's started to do it to get on the couch and what not, so I think I'm going to have a climber! uh oh! How are you? ok. tired. I have a long work day today and apparently I need to cut back on coffee bc i think i'm starting to become dependent Anything else? I am getting pretty bummed out that I work a lot/full time. I think it's the nice summer days that get to me because he gets to go outside and play and I want to do that with him, so seeing the pics my nanny sends me is adorable but also gutwrenching bc I want to do that with him! QOTW: What is your LO's favorite game? He loves being thrown in the air. And "Where's Noah?!" - DH puts his back to N, then he goes where's noah and pretends to look all around and then N touches his shoulder and he turns around and goes "OH! NOAH!" and N laughs hysterically. And repeat. the kid could do it for hours, i'm sure. DH, not so much, but it is adorable to watch. He laughs and laughs and laughs.

We just got home from the ENT. We've scheduled DS2's surgery to have his ear tubes removed in a couple weeks. Although I'm not looking forward to yet another thing to get done, it'll be nice to have this all wrapped up before we leave.

I don't think I've done this for a couple of weeks, it's been so busy here.
Age: 3 tomorrow!
Milestones: She's had a real leap in confidence this week. From Easter onwards she was very clingy for a while. That gradually started to shift about a fortnight ago. This week, she has suddenly started to play with other children at preschool, and she's walking a lot faster. Her running is a lot better too, to the extent that we're thinking of entering her in the preschool race at the town sports next Tuesday. Even last weekend we thought that was pointless. She is even beginning to try to express herself without resorting straight to a tantrum. It's not very successful yet, but it's great that she's trying. I guess we're ready for three!
Challenges: It was my birthday yesterday, and her party is on Saturday, so this is birthday week. She's bubbling over with joy, which is delightful, and she's struggling to listen to her grownups.
Also, she's recently been saying that she would like to have a brother or sister.
Funny/cute stories: Birthday week is definitely getting to her. The first thing she said when she woke up this morning was, "Is there a cake in my house?"
How are you? Three years ago was H's and my last day as a couple rather than a family. I had to have a section so we knew it was, and it was so strange. But it never crossed my mind, for a single second, that she would get to her third birthday and still be an only child. Two years ago I was still recovering from losing Gracie, but a year ago I was expecting twins.
Anything else?
QOTW: What is your LO's favorite game? Most of her play is imaginative games with her trains, little figures or cuddly toys. She's just beginning to learn about games to play together and she's getting the hang of matching pairs.

GUYS! Whatβs a good gift for a girl turning 2? My coworkers daughter is turning 2 and I want to get her a nice bday gift. She got N a hoodie for Xmas that we use almost exclusively - nothing fancy just a great royal blue fleece on the inside that fit him from age 5mo to now, and it was totally out of the blue, and so sweet of her, so I want to get her girl a little something. But Iβm at a loss! Thoughts???

I just bought a nice baby doll at target for a 2 year old girl. She loves anything baby related.
