My kid slept until 8:15 this morning. EIGHT FIFTEEN YOU GUYS ITS A MIRACLE.
And of course I have a cabinet appt at 11, which would have been great assuming the 9-10:30 nap we usually take. Except no because 8:15.

We are back from our trip. I just finished doing a grocery shop and grabbing coffee and am now hiding in my driveway catching up here because I am alone! For the first time since Thursday.
Overall our first road trip went well. DD1 has a huge meltdown about an hour away from home yesterday but we took a quick break and had a chat with her and she was great the rest of the way. It’s been 5 years since we visited and I think we need to make it an annual trip, it’s my husbands closest (geographically and relationship )family.
I have a packed prep week with my sisters wedding on Saturday. Luckily DH is off work this week so I can fit in all my appointments to make me look beautiful.

Tomorrow DS1 turns 5! I’m thinking of keeping him home and sending the baby to daycare, then doing something fun. Beach or arcade or the rainforest. Whatever he chooses.

You guys live near a rainforest? haha it’s like an aquarium but rainforest. The animals are not caged so monkeys may follow you and toucans fly around. It was my favorite field trip in school. DS started pulling to stand on Thursday. First did it in his crib yesterday and now thinks he should stand up on everything all the time, including things like DD’s rocking chair. It is exhausting trying to prevent major injuries haha

cythe sleep! Glorious sleep! Are these different cabinet people then the ones that sent you a sample of the possible “soft wood” you were worried about earlier? Redoing the kitchen cabinets is a very far off project for us so I’m just living vicariously here. Hope it went well! August Blooms I’d say one meltdown for that long of a car ride makes the trip a success! Glad you all were able to do it. curmudgeon one of my favorite days was doing something similar to your plan with my DD1. We just did whatever she wanted and it was great. That rainforest looks pretty cool too!

We made a trip to the bank this morning to cash in a savings bond I received 20 years ago and totally forgot about till my mother gave it to me last week. The bank lady tried to convince me it would collect interest for 10 more years and I was like... no thanks, not interested in $1.52 of interest.
I think we are going to peruse a minivan at our local used car dealership. Neither of us, or our parents, have ever bought a car from a dealership (my grandpa worked for GM forever so cars just kinda *magically* showed up usually). Anyway, any tips for car buying? The bank gave us an idea of the loan but I feel very newb for being a 30 year old adult....

Well the weekend with the in-laws went relatively ok. We sent DS1 over there on Saturday and got a good nap.
But yesterday MIL would give him something and then say, "ask your mommy if you can have that. She's the boss". Like WTF lady, he already has the fruit snacks in hand, of course he won't accept a no now.

I’m stuffing my face fast while pumping with a couple of onigiris yum! I’m super thrilled this place still has it and the only place I know of which sells it in this part of the state. It was a lunch staple of mine when I was working in nyc. So good.

Rama I love her name! 💕 super happy to hear she’s a chill baby. You deserve it after everything you’ve been through. So so hard going back to work I remember with DS. I was so anxious to leave ASAP everyday to come home to cuddle him. It was easier with lil fella but I suspect it’s cos I don’t have time to think with rushing out the door with DS every morning now. Big hugs. Is she going to daycare? Do you think you could telecommute at least a day from home and have a babysitter?

danvers Check out Consumer Reports they will give you great info about all kinds of car details. Once you’ve narrowed it down. If your able to buy privately and skip the dealership for used cars, in our experience you get a better deal. It’s a bit of a PIA but it’s worth it.
