I definitely think Trump is naïve saying he trusts Kim, just no. But that could just be something he is saying publicly to keep everyone happy and feeling good, which in a way I understand. I just hope the administration as a whole understands that historically you cannot trust the Kim regime, and with their humans rights violations and nuclear practices we will still need to take a tough stance with them moving forward, and I am sorry, but this agreement was not tough. It's vague, and when the military is asking the questions they are asking right now, well, this all stands to fall apart still. It's one of those things that only time will tell and we just have to sit back....and watch. Brienne I 100% with you. Think about it. They just finished being able to get nuclear weapons. That is something for 60 years they have been working for and is a linchpin to their society and a national goal of them. He is just going to say that "na its cool, we will get rid of them." WHAT? I reiterate my normal statements. This is a trap. First they say they are going to denuclearize and just do a location for show. NK is a big place they can hide anything. Then they say they want the war games to stop. Then they say they want the number of troops reduced. Then they ask for free trade and get all the support they want to be an economic superpower because they have been untouched for decades. Then you know what they do. Invade SK and Japan. They are biding their time. And when we go to respond they launch a missile at the US keeping us occupied. And with the current climate they will be supported by China because they will see their opening to finally dethrone the US. I can see Russia getting to game too. This is all start of WWIII starting with a Cold war. That is how I see it.

Rubio: "He obviously, I would imagine, he doesn’t truly believe this guy is that talented. I mean, he inherited the family business from his father and his grandfather. The family business is dictatorship."

This is all start of WWIII starting with a Cold war. That is how I see it. I don't think I agree that it's the start of a World War type situation - I am not there yet. So much would need to happen in order to get there and there are still too many variables up in the air.
Honestly I see this reverting back to the same old cycle. I don't think NK has the nuclear capabilities to pose a major threat to the United States so I think they will go back to being a royal pain in the ass to the world community. I think Kim Jong Un is intrigued by Donald Trump, and is feeling him out if you will. But I agree with you that this feels like some sort of trap, and I think Kim Jong Un is playing Trump big time. I could very well be wrong, and if I am, I would be happy to be wrong. I want peace. I have a dear friend in South Korea who I worry about every damn day. I want peace for him so he can feel secure.
I just, I mean my God of all the people in the world to trust, Kim Jong Un is the very last person on that list. I just hope the administration realizes that.

Rubio: "He obviously, I would imagine, he doesn’t truly believe this guy is that talented. I mean, he inherited the family business from his father and his grandfather. The family business is dictatorship." So when do we start actually taking home at his word? Someone always has an excuse for “oh that’s not really what he meant.” I’m so tired of people constantly making excuses for him.

I'm just going to listen to pod casts today. I'm currently listening to Pod Save America but when I'm done, then I'm moving on to MFM and disconnect from the world. The shenanigans and watching Mitch praise 45 from the floor this morning, I have to be done for the day.

It's my husband's 2nd rebirthday today! The few days before and after are the hardest for me. The rest of the year I am ~ 0.5-1 about it. This week I get to like an 8-9. We are so lucky he came back to us. He had less than 10% chance of survival alone. He made it through with no brain injury (biggest risk associated with SCA, I had no idea before!) and no real lasting effects. #CPRsaveslives

Anyone know of activism happening around the border separations? Aside from continuing to donate to the ACLU, is there any direct action citizens can support or participate in? I'm tired of seeing photos and tweets and feeling helpless. I'm sitting here with my own beautiful baby safe and sound and feel such rage that my country is treating other children with such hostility and disregard.

Summit journalists were given complimentary USB fans. They may be harmless of course, but I personally wouldn't want to risk it. Trust no one and nothing.
Barton Gellman @bartongellman
So, um, summit journalists. Do not plug this in. Do not keep it. Drop it in a public trash can or send it to your friendly neighborhood security researcher. Call any computer science department and donate it for a class exercise. I’d be glad to take one off your hands, btw.

We are now in the middle of Putin’s most wild wet dream. Sounds crass but his initial investment in a pee tape is paying off in spades. I hate the world right now. KJU is a horrible person and Cheeto elevated to the level of statesman. Now the US looks like we just don’t give a fuck about western Democratic ideals. We prop up and support dictators and berate and debase our allies.

USB devices are a very common way of spreading malware and spyware. The security team at my company actually tests user security awareness by dropping thumb drives in the parking lot and seeing how many people plug them into their computers to see what's on them.

A lot of DOD has banned USB drives and plug in devices. ETA I think I would be more surprised if they are harmless.

Oh I was being sarcastic. Would not be surprised if they contained some spyware at all. Our IT at one point disabled everyones USB drives because the vendors would leave them and occasionally there were viruses on them (not intentional).
