Trump sounds so naive after his press conference. He says he gave up nothing but gave up military exercises on the Korean Peninsula in exchange for NK denuclearizing. He took no notes and has no transcript from the meeting. And then added after the agreement was signed that NK agreed to get rid of a missile test site.
Watching as this implodes on Trump in 3..2..1

So we're ending our joint exercises with South Korea, guaranteeing to protect Kim, and he says "Sure uh huh I'll get rid of my nukes."
Seems legit.
President Moon must be screaming.

Trump says he trusts Kim Jong Un. And if he's wrong? "I may be wrong, I mean I may stand before you in six months and say, 'Hey I was wrong,'" said Trump, before adding, "I don't know that I'll ever admit that, but I'll find some kind of an excuse." t.co/J2k6ehVhW1 t.co/onKaUHP2f3

No matter what, he will just find some excuse. And then build his hotel.

Is it wrong I’m hoping today’s Caps parade gets more people than Trump’s inauguration?

I wonder if this will finally wake my grandfather tf up. He fought in Korea, and lost a lot of good friends. Nothing good is coming from this.

I am surprised he didn't do his classic, "You think we are so innocent" line? I mean granted he is right but I wouldn't put it past him.

Again, South Korea "is trying to figure out what president Trump meant." His words mean nothing. Neither of their words mean anything. Ee definitely got nothing from that meeting and North Korea got exactly what they want. Kim was probably done with that site anyways and he has given no timeline to do anything else

Again, South Korea "is trying to figure out what president Trump meant." Because the agreement basically set no clear definitions, milestones, or timelines. But Trump *did* commit to stepping back joint defense efforts w/ SK and also to stopping military exercises w/ SK, but it's not clear if he meant just joint US/SK exercises or just US, and if he agreed to that on SK's behalf 1) WTF? but also 2) SK has a right to defend itself and train its military given that they are still technically at war. WHY would they stop just b/c KJU said, "Sure. We'll denuclearize. Sometime. Eventually. Maybe." It is infuriating and terrifying that this one highly uninformed and uninterested man thinks that he can make these decisions by himself based on his gut feeling in the first minute.

Unfortunately in this case, though, they could definitely mean *something*, which other parties may not agree to (specifically SK) and failure to uphold our end or our allies' failure to uphold our end whether they agreed or not could have major ramifications. It's bananas. It is bananas. His words are thoughtless and meaningless but have serious consequences. It’s terrifying.

I definitely think Trump is naïve saying he trusts Kim, just no. But that could just be something he is saying publicly to keep everyone happy and feeling good, which in a way I understand.
I just hope the administration as a whole understands that historically you cannot trust the Kim regime, and with their humans rights violations and nuclear practices we will still need to take a tough stance with them moving forward, and I am sorry, but this agreement was not tough. It's vague, and when the military is asking the questions they are asking right now, well, this all stands to fall apart still.
It's one of those things that only time will tell and we just have to sit back....and watch.

I'm trying really hard to reserve judgment because I support denuclearization of DPRK and if we have to engage in some buffoonery to get it, that's probably ok. I don't think anything that happens in this trip will actually lead to denuclearization. I do think KJU is smart enough to see that an agreement with Trump holds water for about as long as a paper towel. So he may agree to things that he will have no qualms not following through on. I see nothing positive coming from it. Exactly. I don't believe for one second that Kim will actually follow this agreement. And of course, it does not spell out any steps NK will take, or any repercussions should they break the agreement.
