I drank and ate so much this weekend, so it only felt right to finish it off with getting ice cream. While we were there DD told us she had to go potty and then ACTUALLY WENT!!!!! One step closer to actually potty training.

I'm trying to figure out what to do about a pediatrician for this kid. We can't make it to the meet and greet at the office location we would be going to. None of the doctors' profiles are speaking to me in terms of someone I really want to meet with or don't want to meet with. The biggest thing was I wanted a practice that doesn't see unvaccinated kids and they don't. Should I just call and be like, set me up with someone who's taking new patients? I'm sure I'm not the first new parent to call and have no clue what they're doing but ugh.

I had no idea what I was doing, so I got some recommendations for drs in our area and I called two and said "hi, I have no idea what i'm doing" and I went with the one that made me feel less like an idiot and then they told me what to do.

My kid was in his room in bed at 5 with half a peanut butter sandwich because his behavior was so horrid today. I don’t even know.

goldenbird, talk to your friends about who they use and call the offices. Important things to me were vaccinations and the ability to easily get same day appointments for surprise sickness. I was able to meet the docs at my top choice and it sealed the deal. I would have been good with any of the docs there.

Today has been nice and relaxing. I have tomorrow off to watch the girls, and my sister and nephew should be here around midday!

B and I spent the day in the pool and eating burgers and hot dogs off the grill. Then I stopped by FILs where he let me go through MILs record collection and pick a few to listen to at home. He said I can't keep them, but I don't mind! It was a beautiful day.

I basically do everything for my kid based on recommendations from friends. But the fact is, you'll never know for sure that they're a good fit until you've used them.

Also, our practice has several doctors and for the most part we just see whoever has appointments available. It works for us.

We only have 1 friend who has kids and they see someone at a different location. I'll ask my OB if she's heard great things about any of them in particular. There's half a dozen pedis there so I'm sure at some point we will see all of them. You're able to see any of them if your personal doctor can't get you in fast enough or timing doesn't work. So I think same day appointments should be doable. I guess I'll have MH look at their profiles too and see if there's a couple he really likes.

Lol because that's sort of what I'm doing. I wish we had more friends who had kids who also lived close. We can always change his primary pedi later if we don't mesh with whomever we start with.
