It turned out to be a great Sunday. We were only outside for an hr in the morning but it must've hit L hard cause he took a 3 hr nap! And baby decided to take a 2 hr one. At 1 pt they both woke up and I thought that's it. But nope, L wanted me to lay down with him and he fell back asleep. By the time I got back to the living room, A had put himself back to sleep. I managed to clean the house and have some me time.
And the surprising thing was L woke up at 5 pm. Did not think we would have a good bedtime. I got him in bed at 8 pm, read only 3 books and sang a couple of songs and he was out. Not sure exactly how fast since I dozed off too. I was tired. At some point I was singing the 10 little monkey songs and started sleep talking about my CW's. It was odd.

The extreme heat we're having is glorious, but I wish I was at home enjoying it, instead of at work. Boo.

What a weekend!
We had BH's birthday party Saturday morning. Then after everyone left, we cleaned up while the boys napped. When they woke, we headed over to a friend's "end of the school year pool party." And when that broke up, we went and grabbed dinner at a party DH's work friend was throwing.
Sunday, we let BH open his presents and hung out around the house, then headed to a brewery for lunch and beer. But it's hard to have a recoup day with kids, so I don't really feel any more rested.
Today BH has his 2 year appointment. I'm looking forward to that being over so I can drop him off at preschool and finally have some alone time. I don't even mind working today, because it means my house will be quiet and orderly!

DH put in the AC for the living room and I'm much less crabby today because I'm a lot more comfortable. Now DS is sending me text messages from DH's phone--it's mostly emojis and random letters from him, but it's still entertaining for both of us.

Toddler woke up FIVE times last night, because he didn't get very good naps yesterday. If only I could have more coffee.. I'm so exhausted!

I'm attempting to work from home this Monday but my children are not making it easy. How was everyone's weekend? My DC closes for a week in July. I don't want to use up all my vacation so I'm going to ask to WFH a few days. Which seems impossible to do with a toddler and baby. Esp if the baby starts crawling by then.

So I WFH part time and have no full time child care. I don't work any set hours, I do a percentage of my old workload... it's mostly project based. I only have 1 (15 month old) though. It's hard sometimes, but doable if your work is flexible. If you have to be doing things at very set times, I don't think it would work, but if your work is flexible... or can be since it's only for a week. Sucks that your daycare closes for a whole week with no coverage!

We had little gym this morning and I'm hoping it wore DD2 out enough because I'm currently trying to put her down for a nap at my parents. Last time was a disaster so I'm hoping this time is better.
I'm hoping we can make it to the splash pad this week, it's supposed to be in the 90's the next few days.

When I enrolled they said they were removing it. It better be gone next year. I still have to pay half the tuition!

Good Morning! (it's still morning here)
It sounds like everyone had busy but fun weekends!
I had a 3 day weekend. Friday was just a relaxing day at home with the boys. Saturday I did an obstacle course run and then we went to a touch a truck event in town. DS1 was in heaven! Yesterday we did a ton of yard work. We had a new patio poured on Thursday, so the yard is a mess from it. We got most of it picked up and then I used a rototiller in the old garden beds that we tore up. My entire body is sore today. I can't wait until the backyard is done so we can just sit back there and enjoy it.

I'm attempting to work from home this Monday but my children are not making it easy. How was everyone's weekend? I love working from home. One of my favorite parts of my job. But both the boys are in preschool, so that makes it much easier. I find that if only one child is home, I can usually do fine. But when both are here? Nothing gets done.

I'm having SUCH a Monday.
I got back from BH's doctor's appointment and tried to log into the meeting I was supposed to be in, that had already started.
Except the internet chose sometime this morning to go out, so of course I couldn't connect. I had to grab my stuff and book it to Starbucks so I wouldn't miss too much more. When I got home after the meeting to call our service provider, the internet was already back up and running.
REALLY? It just wanted to go out for the hour I needed to be connected to my coworkers?

I ended up agreeing to watch my previous nanny kid today (someone else is watching her for the summer). The little booger is refusing to go to sleep after a failed transfer and I am not having it. Her parents still hold her to sleep most of the time at 15 months and it makes it a real PITA to watch her sometimes. Today she just wants to suck her thumb and try and rip my earring out or play with my shirt. Nope. Sorry. You can lie down now.
At least my kid has been asleep for almost an hour.

That's the thing that makes me nervous about WFH. SOmething going wrong. I try to move all my files and dbases to my desktop JIC. Last time I stayed home with L (he was sick), I logged into a dept wide mtg training via skype late. I must've hit the wrong button cause I got an IM from one of the Dir to mute my mic. They got an earful of Monsters Inc.

We have K's 15 month appointment this afternoon. I completely blanked and packed no snacks. I have to leave straight from work to pick her up from DC. Maybe I can bum a cracker or two off of them. K gets so hangry at the end of the day.

I hate coming back from travels with kids. DS woke up 4x last night to go pee and 2 other times because?... All of which woke up DD. Hoping tonight goes a little smoother.
DH did OK on his Tri, but not as well as he had hoped so he is pretty bummed. It was a fun trip despite that.

Ugh, Monday. This is our last full week of school and EVERYONE in my class is sick, including me. It was also 95 degrees today, so we were all just super cranky.
On the bright side, my kid is super cute and was in a good mood this afternoon, so we had a great evening together. I can't believe how much more he seems to learn and say everyday, it blows me away.

Sounds like everyone had pretty busy weekends! Our Monday was good - it's the last week of nursery school for DS, so DH had a little parent teacher conference in the morning. The school put together this awesome binder/scrap book with pics of DS throughout the year and descriptions of the activities he participated in/what he learned. They also gave us a thumb drive with all pics they took of him from the year, plus a few pieces of artwork. I love it - esp since his teacher is an artist/photographer and takes really great pics. We're going to miss having her as his teacher next year for sure. DS also did afternoon soccer lessons and was able to dribble his soccer ball through an "S" shaped cone maze and kick a goal on his own. He's really come a long way since we started lessons last year. He can also do little mini "jumps" now, which is cute I'm still stuck on bedrest, but watching the videos of DS at soccer and seeing the scrap book from school really brightened my day!
