I post the monthly quote of the month for my team’s visibility wall.
I enjoy some inspirational quotes.

I also like to drive my cars until they catch on fire so Honda works well for that This is part of why I ended up with the CR-V. I had a Toyota before and don't understand cars that don't run until the end of time. We will have to trade in the CRv for something bigger and it feels so odd since it still moves

I have a few UO. My first is that I hate inspirational quotes as artwork. Even in a kids room or in an office. I think they’re dumb. I feel they have a place and can work. Oh and BTW I have one in my kitchen! "Enjoy Life It's Delicious" under it is individual kiddo BW pics of them eating their first b day cake, and H and I sharing our wedding cake. But I do not care for signs, sculptures in kitchens that say "Eat" I can figure out what to do thanks!

SUV forever, mini-van never.
I know this isn't UO, but my husband took several hours to acknowledge my birthday today - by text message. He claims he didn't forget, but he was awake and getting ready to leave for at least 30-45 minutes before I left for work today. Nothing. Not a hug, a high five, slap on the ass, nothing. He didn't remind DS either, so no one in my household said anything to me except talking about packing lunches and whether or not the coffee was ready.
I'm pissed and hurt, and he's backpedaling now, apologizing and saying they (he and DS) were going to give me cards tonight. I mean, we don't really do much for birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, etc., but we have NEVER not at least verbally acknowledged it at the first reasonable opportunity. I'm willing to bet all the dollars that I will get some kind of "oops I fucked up" flowers today, which will honestly just make me madder.
PLAN AHEAD MAN. Or at least THINK for 2 seconds.
Carry on with the SUV vs. van discussion!

I had a Toyota before and don't understand cars that don't run until the end of time. Hondas retain their value so well, too. So even if you do eventually sell, it is worth it. I drove my Fit for 8 years and still got a great trade in deal for it. I love my Mazda, but I am really a Honda girl at heart. The CRVs were just a bit too far out of our price range.

I'm going to put an inspirational quote over each of my kids' beds that says go back to sleep. It would help if they could read though

I read that pageant contestants will no longer be judged on looks. While I think its wonderful that beauty pageants are now *finally* accepting all shapes and sizes, let's not pretend that they're going to be judged only on their brains. I mean, that's the whole point. They're beauty. And the contestants know this going in They will STILL be judged on looks! It's a beauty pageant. Eliminate, make-up, spanx, hairspray, pageant trainers/coaches, then maybe I won't side eye as much

I needed space for two car seats + teenager and two grown ups in at least one of our cars. It's not the stuff, it's the sheer number of people. the one sedan I had fit my dd's carseat, my nephew's car seat and my sister who is 26 plus 2 of us in the front. the trunk was huge. it was not the biggest amount of space in the back, but they fit this would be fine on occasion, but on a regular basis? we have one sedan and one minivan. when we go all together anywhere longer than 10 minutes it's minivan or bust.

I think that working from home can really ruin a team.
I'm not saying it's all bad, I'm not saying it DOES ruin teams, but unless it's done really well, it can really hurt the group dynamics.

I just chugged my delicious glucoa 100 fruit punch flavor beverage and I'm stuck at the OB for three hours. So please, someone entertain me. I hope you like debates about preferred car styles!

I love seeing family photographs in a home. Childhood photos, wedding portraits, grandparents, etc... It’s not the most sleek, modern look, but it makes me feel comfortable and closer to the people I am visiting.

Next UO. I roll my eyes at friends who have overly posed/calculated IG accounts. I personally think SM should semi reflect your real life and not some fantasy version of it. Unless you're an influencer and it's literally how you earn your money I totally agree. ETA: But I still love a good filter.

Going from my low AF to the ground 3 series to the Jeep has been a GAME CHANGER. I’m not going to say I’ll mever get a sedan again, but I will say I will always have an SUV.

Not every job needs to have a fucking team. The whole team concept is as overused as open floor plans. It's not helpful in every industry. In many those things are detrimental.

I have an SUV with a 3rd row, but I can’t wait until I live the minivan life. Maybe it’s just my SUV, but the second row feels so tight, but there’s plenty of space in the back when the third row is down. The second row should be able to go back a couple inches, as our rear facing car seats are right up on the driver and passenger seats.

If I never hear the word "team" again at work I will be happy.
I hate it as much as I hate "woke"

Even if the pageant ends, there will still be women out there who do bikini and body competitions. <shrugs> I guess I don't see much of a difference.

I guess my UO is that I don’t understand the concept of a 2 week notice. Why 2 weeks? I’d like to think that no matter how much prep and training we do in 2 weeks, it won’t cover my job, so why should I waste my time here for 2 whole weeks.

fikafairy Happy birthday! I would clearly tell him what you want and expect for your birthday. I have. I told him yesterday, for the 11th year in a row, that I want to continue the tradition my family had growing up - "waking" up the birthday person singing happy birthday and some kind of breakfast or beverage. For my parents, we always brought coffee. I have made sure that DS gets it each year on his birthday, and honestly it's usually a toaster waffle. He went downstairs this morning to eat his own breakfast, didn't even start the coffee running, and then came back up and went to bed. I got up, took a shower, got myself dressed and got DS dressed while he rolled around hitting the snooze button. Then even after he got up and was asking about DS's lunch, and if I started coffee - nothing. I left for work with nothing. I mean, I don't know how much more clear I need to be. This is the same conversation we have had every year, and at least before this he would usually SAY something, even though he wouldn't do anything really.

This was my biggest fear when I went full time work at home. I lucked out and got the best supervisor ever that really knows how to keep the team engaged.

It’s an awkward lul where you’re not invited to any meetings, not working on any projects, daily assignments transition to someone else. So I’m like, why am I here?
