Age: 3
Milestones: heโs eating more healthy foods ๐ all the sudden, itโs probably a phase
Challenges: 3 is kicking my ass, Iโm struggling a lot with him lately. Heโs very emotional and can be physically rough too. The weekdays are good, but on the weekend when we are both home his behavior is abhorrent. Itโs like heโs a different kid.
Funny/cute stories: heโs combined the phrases, โhave funโ and โbe goodโ so he will say โbe funโ. Makes me laugh and now my h and I have it as an inside joke and say โbe funโ.
How are you? Cranky, my patience has been thin lately
Anything else?
QOTW: Does your little one like playing outside? Yes, he would be outside all day rain or shine if I would let him. This year Iโm worried about sunburn, allergies and woodticks.

Age: 3.5
Milestones: Just cognitive leaps
Challenges: He hates sleep. I love sleep. It's a problem.
Funny/cute stories: He loves his cousins, especially the older ones. He's been whining to see his cousin E who lives in MN. Yesterday, DS1 had a friend over who looks vaguely like E, and DS2 kept calling her by that name even though we'd correct him. Finally he said, "I KNOW. I CALL HER E RIGHT NOW." Poor guy, he's trying to deal with the best he can get! Fortunately, the friend thought it was funny.
How are you? My "2018 sucks" streak continues. After feeling crappy for a couple of days, I found a deer tick in the hollow of my knee. I'm on antibiotics for it, but the antibiotics are making me feel awful (ironically though, my skin looks awesome right now!). Hot flashes, cold flashes, GI issues... and I have 11 days left.
QOTW: He would live outside. We have a big backyard with a privacy fence, and he can putter around out there for hours. I send him out there when he's grumpy.

Also, this is kinda off topic, but not really threadworthy. Something very cathartic happened to me this weekend. While I was at urgent care for the tick bite, the NP I saw told me she used to be a midwife and wanted to ask some questions about my chart, but she was afraid they were too personal. I told her to go for it, and she wanted to know if DS2 (who was with me) was my biological child. I said yes, and she was very "...you have two pretty serious IF diagnoses in your chart. Is he an IVF baby?" Then we ended up talking about my OB history.
She asked if she could take notes and share my story with others when appropriate. It gave me a nice sense of peace thinking that maybe it'll help someone else feel less isolated- when I got the Turner's diagnosis, there really wasn't much information about women in my position. It was also nice to talk to someone who was very kind with the way she asked- not that false sappy sympathy people do or the cold clinical questions you get sometimes with HCPs. She struck a good balance.

Age: 1.25 years
Milestones: The chatter continues. He's saying a lot and picks up on all the words. Gotta be careful around him!
Challenges: Bottles. He's addicted. He'll take a sippy cup, but fights it pretty hard. We're working on it.
Funny/cute stories: He's figured out how to get water out of the fridge, but he's too short to reach the button. So instead he just bangs his cup on the face of the fridge and then pretends to drink out of a cup. After each 'sip' he says, "mmmmm..." LOL
How are you? Not great. My mom is still very ill, my car was totaled 2 weeks ago, and our house was having work done on it. But the car is replaced and the house work is mostly done. I need some calm in my life LOL
Anything else? C's pedi mentioned C's weight gain at his 15-month appointment. C's other measurements are fine, but the pedi would have liked to see more weight gain. So of course I'm worried about that. After this kid's NICU time, I'll always worry a little bit more than necessary.
QOTW: He loooooves outside. He'd live out there if you let him.

enchanted - J went through the same #2 struggles. Everyone told me #2 was different, but I had no idea. The rewards worked for us. Also, fiber gummies to guarantee she had to go every day. You have all my sympathies. mirabelle - "Be fun," is adorable! hawkward - That's a wonderful story. I hope that NP knows how kind she was {{hugs}}

hawkward, wow that NP sounds so wonderful! Age: 19 months Milestones: vocabulary explosion, Challenges: crying at daycare drop off, but it has improved greatly. I picked up today and was watching before I went in, she was having such a good time. Funny/cute stories: She counted to 2 on Sunday- H & I looked at each other like what?? She counted the number of balls she put into this toy she has. She also loves the ABC's and letter she points to words in books an will say random letters of the alphabet. How are you? E is sleeping better, I am done being sick, H is on the mend, so so much better than last week. Anything else? Random vent E eats quite a bit of crap at daycare, this week more than she has had in her life. It was a special day they had ice cream, it was another kid's birthday they brought in cupcakes, today they had a trail mix with marshmallows and chocolate chips. I never gave her any of this stuff, and while I understand it's a part of childhood I was hoping to delay some of these sweets a little while longer. I also don't want to say don't give any to her and have her miss out. QOTW: Does your little one like playing outside? Loves it. We bought a water table for her, next summer I want to get a swing set for the backyard.

I have been SO absent from these but I want to get back into them!!
Age: 9 1/2 months
Milestones: cruising everywhere, reaching for things, grabbing food and feeding himself, learned how to climb onto our ottoman!
Challenges: sleep. clingy-ness
Funny/cute stories: Gosh, almost everything he does is so cute. My mind is blanking b/c its 2am and I'm working night shift tonight after getting an hour nap in today. Oof. I'll come back next week with a cute story!
How are you? Okay. tired but in general ok. Our nanny was on vacation this week and we couldn't find someone to watch N for us on my days to work so I had to call in and it was so nice to spend those extra days with him, I really loved it. i was tired but it was so fun to hang out with him most of the day. He's so much fun at this age, I just love snuggling with him and tickling him and laughing and playing with him. I'm kind of obsessed. I was pretty bummed to have to come back to work tonight.
Anything else? he STTN last night. it was amazing. These STTN are happening a little more often. I'm hoping he starts to do them more and more. FX!!!
QOTW: Does your little one like playing outside? he LOOOVES playing outside. he'd be outside all day if he could. he loves the playground, he loves the wood chips and mulch, he loves the grass and the swings, he loves seeing other kids and dogs. I wish we had a real yard I could plop him down in and let him go nuts for a couple hours.

It's been way too long since I've checked in on you guys! How are you all doing???
Age: 3.5 years
Milestones: Counting, singing songs, jumping things
Challenges: Nap times have disappeared which makes bedtimes difficult...he likes to stay up until 11pm and sleep until 9am. Not feasible.
Funny/cute stories: Keeping with counting as a milestone, this morning, watching a youtube commercial for a fire truck firing "water" balls toy he has-"Mommy, I have that! But that one has three balls (holds up 3 fingers). I have two (forces down one finger). That means this many (holds up only the finger he put down) is missing." I wanted to go out and buy him like 10 more balls for figuring that out.
How are you? OK, back to working out and eating healthy, so that's improving my state of mind.
Anything else? Still struggling with accepting being OAD, not by choice, but in grand scheme, I'm so blessed with my LO, I know I'll be OK.
QOTW: Does your little one like playing outside? Most favorite thing in the world, mosquito bites and all. He is obsessed with his digger trucks and finds places to create construction sites.

enchanted I know right? He is so anxious to walk everywhere- he will stand upright unassisted but is too scared to take any steps. Iโm trying to wean him to walking with holding one hand so he gets used to being a bit more independent but thatโs hit or miss. oldbaylover1024 last night he slept til 5:30am! Iโll consider that a win! ๐ค๐ผ He continues to keep this up!! Gosh these kiddos grow up so fast! It almost - almost - makes me want another haha
