nam2013 MH will be in Amsterdam briefly next week for work! He’s staying at some fancy hotel that’s several townhouses put together and overlooks a canal.

I’m sitting in the back of my boss’s car with a cake on my lap. It’s huge. I’m starving. I’m trying to talk myself out of fingering the cake. And yes, I’m giggling at fingering the cake. I giggled out loud at my desk when I read it just as my boss was walking by

Also in addition to you naming your daughter Bea, my B being obsessed with the Bee part of Mr. Brown can Moo and asking me to read it over and over last night, and S asking if he can watch the Bee Movie yesterday (we've literally never seen it or talked about it before then), I feel like I can't get away from bees! Oh the wonderful sounds Mr. Brown can do. He can sound like a cow he can go Moo Moo! I have read that so.many.times. It is one of my favorites. It was one of S favorites and now B loves it. He is a very late talker and is just starting to "get it" and he LOVES mimicking the animal noises in that book. When we do the Bee part I always buzz and nuzzle his neck. We've read it so much that right before we get there he sort of pushes his neck into my face in anticipation. It's adorable.

C and I are leaving the museum. My parents and LO are staying. My contractions are more painful but not regular plus some other things made me want to leave.

Hello. I still have to catch up on yesterday. The kids were off for Election Day so I took them all to the Bronx Zoo by myself. We were suppose to go with friends but they canceled. I’m kinda glad because my kids got along so well with each other all day.
I have traveled nowhere. I could be in nyc in like 15 minutes but aside from the zoo, I never go. Been to Canada once and, a few Caribbean Islands. We do Disney and the Jersey Shore. I looked into a camping trip this summer so we could bring the dog and because my kids would love it even though I won’t but I ended up getting my beach realtor to find me a house where I can bring the dog. I would have loved to be on The Amazing Race though.

It's all ok. Just between the traffic and the crazy school groups it was just too much. Plus I'm less the. A week away from my due date so I don't want to go into labor and sit in 2 hours of traffic. The upside to Disneyland was that it's close-ish to my hospital.

I remember traveling across country with my family. Plus my grandparents took me to Hawaii with them for my grandpas job. Not really much traveling outside the US yet except driving to Canada before you needed a passport.

I did have a nightmare I went into labor on it's a small world and the ride broke down. Dnw my kid being born at Disneyland especially small world.

And I think I'd want to punch a singing animatronic doll in the face by the time I'm done. I don't know why but that ride breaks down a lot. I got stuck on it once for a while.

inthekitty our first plan was west USA & Canada ... but the flight is soooo long, we don’t feel comfortable camping there (bears...), I already had nightmares about walking the rim in the Grand Canyon and the distances are huge. So we’ll do that when the kids are a little older. This is where I tell you about camping in Mammoth and a bear chewed through the neighboring tent's ice chest.

It's my big brother's 40th birthday today. He was a scrawny sickly baby and had open heart surgery at 11 months. He's still going strong today and assured me that he "still cuts the mustard."

That sounds like a good plan. I really want to see more of the national parks--Yosemite and the Grand Canyon especially. But that kind of travel sounds like fresh hell with young kids. I want them to really be able to hike before we do those kinds of trips. And we're definitely more spread out on the West Coast. Sometimes when people think of Americans not travelling I don't think they consider that even though it's only 1 state away it takes me about 5 hours just to drive to Idaho...and Idaho's it's own special world. It's like travelling to a foreign country. I wanted to do a long weekend to Canada this spring but it didn't happen. It's embarrassing that I live this close and have only been once. But once again, it's a 5 hr drive to Vancouver so it's still something to set aside time off to go there. I need to get passports for the kids too. semi-related, my parents have started visiting the national parks, like one each year. They love it! We've definitely added some of those (Yosemite, Yellowstone, etc) to our bucket list. It's kind of embarrassing but as an east-coaster I tend to forget about that stuff a bit, but it's really amazing that we have places like that in our country. We are going to do the Grand Canyon on our trip in the fall (that I mentioned last night). We're staying in Scottsdale for most of it but are going to do a day or so up there. I'm excited but also irrationally terrified that I'll somehow be the ONE person that goes over the edge. I really hope you get out to Yellowstone. It's my favorite place in the world and I can't wait to take the kids to see the wildlife and do whitewater rafting. ETA: okay. I see you've been and loved it!

Yeah we seen bears on our campgrounds and do not want the kids in a tent. A few days before we went to Vancouver island a man was scalped by a bear 😳😳😳. I went to the bathroom with a hammer in my hand and a bear bell. I must have been quite a sight!

I’m glad you all are talking about national parks because I’ve never even thought about doing those. I’ll have to look into them. Are most of those places good to do in the spring, summer? We’ve decided to try and plan big vacations in December when MH has time off between fall and spring semesters. I have yet to start to plan this year’s adventure.

We're staying close to home while the kids are young.
We're going to Legoland on a few weeks but that's the only getaway we have planned this summer.

I went to a PiYo class with my mom this morning.
My SD should be here any minute to officially start construction on our room extension.

I was awake for about an hour in the middle of the night with my head jumping from some of the most obscure things, and one of them was is if @goldi was still doing her renovation bc we hadn't heard much about it.

But everyone else goes then too. We want to do a big road trip when the kids are older and will be able to hike and do stuff. Yosemite is the only big one I've been to so far and it was as pretty as an Ansel Adams picture...

Shit you guys...I'm trying not to lose my mind on the windshield place.
No one called me, so I finally called the tech, no answer, then the 800 number since it's a large chain. THEY CAN'T FIND THE FUCKING PIECE THEY BROKE. But no one called me to tell me. Like, I'd just be sitting here wondering what was up.
What has happened to customer service?
I'm now waiting on a call back from the local store manager.
