If anyone wants to plan a trip to the black hills/ Mount Rushmore and/or the badlands of SD let me know. It’s beautiful and not that far of a drive for me.

tgrimes , I hope you get to actually eat said cake at some point instead of just dreaming of fingering it! I did get some cake, but it wasn't that good.  |

Am I the only one that has no desire to go to national parks? If I hadn't been as a child, it probably wouldn't interest me as an adult. I can see how they don't sound that great and frankly, other than some light hiking I'm not at all outdoorsy. But since I do know how awesome they are I can't wait to get back. |

Am I the only one that has no desire to go to national parks? The country I live in is flat, literally below sea level and flat. Wildlife are deers and wild boars. Mountains, big game and whales are something magical to me  . |

trtlcrzy, I also went there on my drive back from GA. So pretty. We will go again someday so maybe we will meet! I'm a nerd and I've wanted to go to Carlsbad Caverns since I was a kid. It's on the list. I don't really care much about visiting cities. I have no desire to see Chicago. I will probably see NYC someday but don't really care either. But hiking, white water rafting, horse back riding, and amazing sights? Give me all of that. I still haven't been to the ice caves at Mt. St. Helens but I've been a bit gun shy since some ice fell and killed people a couple years ago. Mt. Rainier is pretty.

Am I the only one that has no desire to go to national parks? I’m eh on it. I would if it’s close to wherever I’m visiting but I don’t think I would specifically plan a trip to go to one. I have decided that in adulthood, where I’m responsible for everyone/thing, I don’t like camping. I am down with going to someone’s lake house or renting some sort of cabin, but no thanks to tenting it. |

I would 100% rather take a vacation to the ocean than a national park.

The manager of the windshield place called me back and said this was 100% his fault...the part that was missing was on his desk and he couldn't find it this morning when his tech left for a job, then the tech needed to leave early for the day. He assured me someone would be out tomorrow morning, that I would be the first appointment for a tech tomorrow AM.
We shall see. H still wants me to call our insurance company and let them know the issues I've had. I don't see what it would help, this is a large, nationwide glass company. They aren't going to stop using them.

I don't like camping. There's so much stuff to pack--well, the way I camp there is because I need a huge tent, air mattresses, extra blankets, etc. Backpacking would be my personal hell. But hiking and then coming back to a cabin (even a very basic non fancy cabin as long as bathrooms are nearby) is up my alley. Years ago we did a weeklong camping adventure with 2 nights at Crater Lake (this one's too cold), two nights at Shasta (this one's too hot), and 2 nights in the Redwoods (this one is just right). It was great but by the time we got to the Redwoods I wanted to revolt because I didn't want to set up camp again. I tried to convince everyone to just get a hotel. They compromised that they would set up my site for me.

I've actually eaten most of those and enjoy except for two. I can't eat fish so the red herring and the peas soup thing was not one I would eat again. |

We went to the lake today. Had the best time. Now on our way home and I convinced MH to drop me off for a pedicure. So he is waiting in the truck with S while I get pretty feet. Then we will grab dinner out before we venture the rest of the way home. Friday we head to my BIL’s for the weekend for our nephews wedding. S is flower girl. She will be wearing the same dress as a few weeks ago.
