wineandcake I hope everything goes smoothly on Saturday! I am feeling good about this cycle and wish it wasn’t just a mock cycle. Everything is working as it should, progressing on a normal timeline, etc. I’m starting PIO on Saturday and biopsy is next Thursday. I also had my nurse draw circles on me for easier shots.

wineandcake sounds like everything is going well! mrsklm I know it's hard when you don't have many follicles while stimming, but you are still pretty early. Even if you only get a few, though, it only takes one. bonzo I'm glad things are starting to move! jacks I'm glad the mock cycle is going well. I hope the PIO gets easier

So, I had my sono. I have a polyp and I haven't heard from my RE yet, but the RE who did the sono said it'll have to come out before we can transfer.
I have been wondering, though, if we should do another retrieval cycle before that though. We have 1 embryo left, and it was not PGS tested. Based on my age when we got it, it had about a 50% chance of being euploid. If we don't transfer it in July/August, I won't be able to transfer until oct/nov, because I have to travel in June 2019 and the travel is non-negotiable. It's a very very small chance I'll be able to get the polyp removed and transfer before, so while we are waiting until November, and since I seem to grow polyps while on IVF meds and will probably have to have something removed again if we were to transfer and it didn't work and then do a retrieval, should we do a retrieval and try to get another embryo? (I mean more embryos would be better, but I'm trying to be realistic). What would you do? Am I crazy? I mean, I need to confirm that it'll take a while before I can have the polyps removed, but if I have to wait to transfer anyway should I try another retrieval?
I'm also AMA and 2 years older than my last retrieval, so I feel like time is ticking if we are going to have a biological child.
Help!

sally, if I were you, I’d want to do another retrieval first. With only 1 I’d want to have a few more embryos before dealing with s polyp removal.

Glad your mock cycle is going well jacks! Hopefully your injections go smoothly. I was terrified about the possibility of injections and I'm a nurse :/ sally I'm sorry to hear about the polyp. That's a tough decision to make, definite pros and cons to both options. Hopefully your doctor is able to give good insight. I've been doing the progesterone for 2 days now and I'm so impressed I haven't missed a dose. I'm terrible at remembering meds. They got a call today that all 7 eggs survived the thaw and were fertilized, they'll call again tomorrow with another update. I'm so glad that went smoothly, I think my sister is finally able to relax a little bit about this (they have a guarantee that they get at least one embryo for transfer from the donor eggs, if nothing then they would get a new lot of them).

bonzo my AMH was .4. I guess .9 is normal so it’s fairly low. I was told we might get 6-8 eggs but the dr I saw yesterday said 2-5 was on par for my AMH. I was just surprised at the disparity. I know it only takes one so I’m trying to focus on that more than anything.

bonzo fx that things keep moving forward! sally, the polyup is defunding a frustrating set back. I feel like I would try for more if you only have 1. I’m already thinking about doing a second round if our numbers are low since we have to do PGD.

We didn’t see all the follicles at the first monitoring appointment though. I think you’re still early enough in your cycle that you should hopefully see more growth!

Hi ladies! I hope it's okay if I start to get my feet wet in here, we met with our RE yesterday and have decided to move forward with IVF. We're still trying to work out exactly when to start so I'm hoping I can get some insight from those who may have been there before. Here's the situation: We go on vacation (long drive, then a week in Lake Tahoe) August 5th. It would be reeeeaaaaally tight, if all went smoothly we would end up doing the transfer just days before we left on our trip. After that trip H is OOT until the end of August. So the other option would be to either TTC on our own in July and then start BC in August and egg retrieval right when H got back end of Aug/beginning of Sept. I'm really torn, I think the right answer is to push it back but it just seems so far away. I know H doesn't actually need to be here for all of this but I would hate to do the egg retrieval without him here. TW: LC {Spoiler}We have an almost 3 yo DS and no family nearby so doing egg retrieval without anyone to take care of me and DS is really non-negotiable
So, that's where we stand. Oh and my RE ran some additional tests (repeat loss panel) so we'll have to see where those come back. We have a financial consult next Monday and then a follow up with the RE on Friday. Ahhhh, it's just all so much lol.

charliefox, does your RE recommend any supplements before IVF? Mine had me do DHEA, CoQ10 and some others for a minimum of 3 months before starting, which is why I ask. Also, would a FET be an option so that your travel in August doesn’t feel like you’re cutting it so tight? Just some things to think about. Oh, and your H does need to be there for retrieval, that’s when he makes his contribution (unless you’re doing donor sperm).

I don't really want to do FET unless something comes up that deems it necessary, I mean...more money, more stress, PIO, lol...would much rather wait a month and just do a fresh transfer. H doesn't have to be there for retrieval, our RE said we could use a frozen sample but I want him there for other reasons. H called this morning and told me his work wants him to travel in late July so it looks like we might have to wait anyway.

If yours is comfortable with it, that’s fine. But yeah, you need someone to be able to drive you home, and take care of you while you’re recovering.

charliefox I would probably push it back. I know it is hard to make that decision when you’re in it, but my experience was that my timeline never stayed the same. Inevitably something wouldn’t be right or “come back in a couple days” to check again.

It is SO hard though because we feel so close to finally being done with all this ish but waiting is probably for the best.

bonzo, H has no issues so that probably helps, but there are studies that show no difference in outcomes of frozen vs. fresh sperm. Of course, that doesn't mean it will work for everyone. In the end I think we'll wait until August...but I'll still hang out here and root for everyone and learn all the things until then

Got the call today, transfer is tomorrow morning at 10am! All 7 are still going strong which is a good sign. I'm starting to feel a bit nervous, but overall still feeling good about this.
Question - did you take the day off after a transfer/will you take the day off? I work night shift as a nurse and while I have it really easy and do no lifting, I'm still not sure. I work tonight so I'll be exhausted going into it, I'm thinking maybe calling in for tomorrow night would be the best option. I've got a busy afternoon which I know isn't ideal either so rest will definitely be needed. Basically, do you think the doctor would sign off on a get out of work form for this or will they want me back to work asap?

wineandcake I was put on bed rest the day of my transfer. I was also exhausted from whatever they had given me to relax my uterus. I felt like I pushed it too hard even the next day, so this time around, I plan on taking transfer day and the next day off. If you are able to get off work tomorrow, I would do so.

wineandcake happy transfer day!! bonzo that’s exiting about getting your message meds ordered! We went in for our final check yesterday. Only 3 follicles are showing and he said he was able to get a good look at everything so now we’re just praying that they can get all of them. Retrieval is scheduled for Wednesday at 8am. I’m starting to really feel all this. I’m crazy tired and my abdomen is pretty sore. I know we’re almost done with this part so I’m trying to get through it and we planned a low key weekend so I could rest. But we’re leaving for vacation next Saturday too so I feel like I have lots to do! ETA: does this process kill anyone else’s appetite? I pretty much don’t want to eat right now.

wineandcake, happy transfer! mrsklm, I’m glad things are progressing well! Meds killed my appetite too, I could graze but it was so hard to eat an actual meal. The appetite always came back a day or two after retrieval though!

TW. Quick mention of children.
Transfer went Well, quick and painless. The clinic doesn't think any down time after is necessary so they wouldn't write a note for work. Unfortunately, my littlest guy came down with a stomach thing and fever so I ended up having to call in and stay home with him since H was away for the weekend. Everything has been going well since, I'm getting anxious to test, beta is scheduled for Monday but since it's a holiday I'll have to wait until Tuesday. Not sure when I'll do a home test, trying to hold off as long as I can (But I know I'll give in and test early).

I had my ERA today. It was not great. They were 40 minutes late pulling me back, which would stress me out usually, but knowing the test is time-sensitive plus hormones plus missing work for the 10,000th time this year annnnd I just starting crying in the waiting room.
And then the nurse couldn’t get the catheter in and the whole thing was super painful and long.
At least we had cake at work today.
