What is your baby sleeping in? We have a halo bassinet that Larzmini slept great in the first 3 nights but last night she was inconsolable. We finally put her in the mamaroo and she slept 3-4 hour stretches. I'm feeling super guilty about it since I know technically its not an approved sleep device.

Right now we are using the dock a tot during the day and the rock n play at night. We used the bassinet in the pnp for the first couple nights but I just didnt like how he fit in it. Swaddling for all sleep.

RNP for bed/overnight and either the swing, my arms or she'll occasionally tolerate the PNP during the day.

Thanks guys, it looks like the mamaroo and rock n play are really similar so that makes me feel better. We also have a rock n play unopened but we got the mamaroo free from a coworker so I'm trying to hold off using the rnp in case we can return it.
This ftm worrying is for the birds!! I'm so worried about everything!

L is in the auto RNP at night, swaddled. My uncle gave me a dockatot, so I want to switch to that soon, but L still needs to be propped up a bit until he's consistently eating less overnight.

RnP, on me, or propped up on a boppy in a basinet but the boppy arrangement is only for naps when closely supervised.

In the dockatot in her bed at night, swaddled. In the dockatot in her bed not swaddled, or in her bassinet not swaddled or in the mamaroo for naps.
I only swaddle at night so that she knows it’s night and she needs to sleep longer, lol. Never too early to sleep train 😝

My first slept swaddled in the RnP day and night for months. I did all the Google spiraling and worrying it wasn't safe but it worked so well and he seemed so secure and comfortable in there. Trust your judgement and when you find what works just go with it.
Second baby will sleep in the RnP as well with no guilt this time.

Speaking of swaddling, did anyone besides me get a lecture in the hospital about how new recommendations are to stop swaddling after a month? Also, my sister had her baby yesterday and her hospital has special sleep sacks that they require the babies to be in instead of swaddled in blankets.
I thought it was weird and asked my ped about it at our first appointment. He said he still recommends swaddling until the baby can roll, and thinks some of the shift has to do with concerns about the hips. He thinks though that there is more value to the baby, both in sleep and security, then there is risk for improper development. We use swaddles with looser bottoms, and only swaddle at night, so I’m with the ped that I will continue.

I do bassinets at night, which are in our bedroom, in the dark, with a sleep sack.
During the day they sleep in a portable bassinet, in sunlight, not in our bedroom.

budders if I recall correctly my hospital just said stop swaddling when they can roll but DD hates being swaddled she screams if I put her hands in lol so I swaddle her with arms out. (DS1 was the same way) Is that even considered swaddling? Lol

Both my kids broke out of swaddling immediately so we never did it. Even as a 3x mom I'm concerned about all these things that aren't technically approved sleep decides so we've stuck with the crib and and sharing for the first 2 (sometimes a daytime nap in the swing/bouncer), I think it'll be the same this time as well. DD only slept with/on me or in the car, so hopefully this one will be a little better

budders My hospital didn’t say anything against swaddling, but they never had her in a traditional swaddle. They provided the Halo swaddlesacks while she was in the hospital (and she went through several with poopy blowouts!). They have the sleepsack so the legs are contained but not restrained, and then the Velcro wings to keep their arms tightly restrained. We even were given a brand new one to take home. So I bet it was a thing to do with their hips, not the swaddle idea (calm the startle reflex) that was the issue.

Dockatot in the PNP for all sleep. Occasionally she will sleep on me but she sleeps best in her dockatot. St first i was only swaddling at night, now it’s all sleep. I may try no swaddle during the day again but not sure how it will go over.
Our chiro today said not to swaddle at all due to hips, reflux baby, etc. I don’t think i can totally give up the swaddle though. I may switch to the Halo bc the one we use is more restrictive around the legs than the Halo.
Those who use Halo, do you find the Velcro swaddle part gets scrunched up near their face? That’s what worries me bc it keeps happening with E when i use the Halo.

You guys. We really decided to put together the rnp tonight. Larzmini slept from 11-3! I just had to wake her up to feed her. I hope this isn't a fluke!

I got it thinking that we would need it but swaddling was worked so far.

The only thing I dont like about them is that there is always extra fabric up by the baby's face. I remember that about last time and it was true this time, too. I remember checking on her in the middle of the night all the time due to that. I actually bought these swaddles for Harper, especially since she's smaller. She'll be out of them soon and we may try the Halo sleepsack again. Or I'll buy something new. 🤷♀️

I have a cradle, night sleep starts in that and transitions to bedsharing at some point. He also does his long middle of the day nap there, swaddled. Other day sleep is usually on me while babywearing. He actually doesn't like sleeping in the R&P. Weirdo.
