Now I really just want to get dressed up, drink, dance, and eat my way through the night on someone else’s dime.
And the baby isn’t invited.

The boys' get their 4 year old shots today- they are excited to get apples at McDonalds after the doctor. I might have to get them ice cream instead. DS2 has his 4 year check up today too and I was just looking up the vaccine schedule. I think we'll be stopping for ice cream after too. 4 year shots are the worst. I’m so glad we are past that stage for both girls. Ice cream for everyone dealing with those today!

We had a low-key, low-stress, low-budget wedding after being together for 11 years, so it can be what you make of it, if you want. low key, low stress would not be possible due to family and location issues. Hm, I may have blocked out the stress caused by my mom, which was also a big part of why we put it off. Elope? City hall? Or just don't get married, that's cool too.

You know when you get novocaine and you just think your face is 3x larger than it actually is? When I had my root canals done my chin was legit twice its size for 6 hours after. My mom took me to the Gap to buy a t-shirt as a present after the procedure. The sales lady asked if I needed help, and I just uncontrollably drooled all over myself to the point of her just awkwardly walking away. So. Cher don't go shopping right after you'll scare people. omg this is hilarious

if we do ever get married we've already agreed on the destination. There's a hotel in the St Lucia Pitons with a rum bar and rum sommelier

It's 8 and all the boys are in bed. This is amazing! The past few weeks/months we've been living the low-key northern hemisphere it stays light till almost 10pm life but I desperately need a bit more time in the evenings without the boys awake. Plus we don't have summer holidays yet so we all still have to get up relatively early. So treating myself to a cocktail and going to relax with H. You are me right now. All the kids are sleeping, and I'm having a beer with cold pizza. Cheers SaveSaveYou are seriously blowing my mind. Absolutely living your best life as a mom to newborn twins. Please share your secrets.

I've never been to a wedding with a cash bar. I get that treating your guests to free alcohol can be prohibitively expensive, but it seems awkward to invite people to an event and then make them pay for...anything, really.
My young friend is currently planning her wedding and asked me where she should have her after-party. I was like, "After-party? I'm going home when your actual party ends. I'm old."

I'm not getting married again, but we've talked about basically eloping without filing a certificate. Mostly I want a rock and a vacation. I missed the “Not” the first couple times I read this and was honestly a bit peeved you threw an announcement into the randoms

I'm very excited about this wedding H and I got married at City Hall in December in front of the big Christmas tree. My mom came as our witness and that was it. It was perfect. It was marriage #2 for both of us and we didn't even include the kids. No regrets.

I keep seeing a thread about hot spots on a cat and the idea of that makes me want to puke, so I have to close my eyes to click past that.

Since we're talking about parties I'm seriously considering flying in all my close school friends from MN for my 40th birthday (in a few years). I know that for most of them a trip to Germany will just never happen but I was/am really close with 4 girls since grade school and I know we would have a blast together here.
One of the things I love about it here is no one is ever to old for a good party, even like 60th birthdays go into the wee hours of the night and are full of booze and great food and dancing.

As we were walking out the door to daycare this morning, we got a notice that they were closed bc the classrooms flooded. This is the one week my husband and I are totally swamped and our bosses from across the country are in town. We made up a plan, i took DD to work, he kept DS. Now we just got another notice saying they may be closed for another 3-6 days.......WUT?!! Lord Jesus help me. I dont have the sanity or booze to cope. DS teacher wants $17/hr to watch just her not DS (that'd be more $$). I'm crying.

if we do ever get married we've already agreed on the destination. There's a hotel in the St Lucia Pitons with a rum bar and rum sommelier For our honeymoon my husband and I "hiked" the Pitons. I use quotes because it was more like rock climbing. We had NOOOO idea what we were getting ourselves into. We didn't research. We thought we were just casually hiking in the rainforest. We hated every second of it. Surprisingly, it's one of my favorite memories bc we were in complete misery, but the couple they paired us with were pro hikers and we bonded over how much we hated them more than the actual "hike." The second we got home, we retired to bed (it was like 1pm) and ate two entire pizzas to ourselves while watching Family Feud without moving the rest of the day or a stitch of guilt.

My boys will not go down earlier, so we are definitely living that bath at 9 pm and they still argue it is too light outside game every night.

Omg. You are me. So this was originally a filling but once it was done, it was determined I needed a root canal. So after the filling, I’m all numb and I went shopping too. By myself. And everyone and their mother stopped to talk to me. I couldn’t speak, half my face was raised, I was drooling, no one could understand me and would ask me to repeat myself. I ended up hiding in a fitting room and sending brux, sterling and HilarityEnsued pictures of my face and warning them I might get arrested for public intoxication today.

The last time I had needed a filling, they put the numbing gel on my gum and then had an emergency so I sat with it for a few minutes. I was laying back watching tv when I felt like my throat was closing up. I freaked thinking I was having an allergic reaction to the numbing gel, but nope. Turned out, it just dripped down my throat causing it to be numb. The dentist felt horrible
