Halp! I switched from WW to my fitness pal after weeks with no success. I've had slightly better success with MFP but I'm just not losing. I'm working out 4-5 times per week. I'm not sure what to do from here. I'd think I have to make diet changes but it needs to be reasonably easy to maintain, I have a 2 year old and 4 month old and just went back to work.

What does your current diet look like?

What does your current diet look like? This. And how long have you been at a deficit? Sometimes you have to take a break from cutting for a bit.

How many calories did MFP give you? They are notorious for setting the goal too goal, so maybe you aren't eating ENOUGH.

I don't have a consistent diet for sure but I've been pretty good about staying within my calories. They give me 1200, and if I workout I add those and eat them too. GhoatMonket it feels like forever but probably a few weeks. 3 maybe.

Thanks for the input guys. I feel like I keep whining about it but I hate putting work in for no results. Might as well eat cake then.

No to 1200. No to eating workout calories (a big reason is most people vastly overesitmate this number).
Weight is driven by diet. If you aren't eating well- not just within your calorie goals, but quality foods for the majority of your intake- you are going to struggle to lose weight.

1200 calories is too low and hard to sustain, especially if you're working out.

GhoatMonket I've done some reading and that makes sense (regarding the workout calories). I feel like such an idiot asking these questions - I should know better. I've just never had such a hard time losing. Getting old blows.

Thank you! I searched but I didn't want to end up with something inaccurate.

No problem. And if it is a significant increase, don't feel like you need to make the drastic jump in 1 week. Each week add 100-150 calories until you get to their suggested number.

kmkd, how are you tracking/determining portion sizes? 1200 calories is really not very much. So if you've been logging 1200 and not really feeling deprived, chances are you're eating more than 1200 calories. I'm guilty of it my myself on occasion - I'll guestimate what a portion of something is or rely on the fact that I ordered X an the menu says it has Y amount of calories. Every so often I go back and weigh/measure stuff just to remind myself what 2 oz of pasta or an oz of cheese really looks like.

I contacted a nutritionist who is a friend of a friend so I may go that route and see if it helps.
