Ugh. The hiccuping is the worst. H has them almost every time she eats. Same and he gets so mad about it. It’s obnoxious. Yesss, same

This kid man, I've done pretty much nothing all day except feed him, barely even fed myself

I had the Mirena after DD1. I loved it except for the low sex drive. But that's any BC for me. I read lucky in that I didn't have a period on it. So I'd love to go back on it for that reason, but I'm not sure. I may go for the copper IUD instead in hopes it won't mess with my sex drive. I've debated the copper one, but I've heard from so many people that it makes their periods heavier and I don't want to take that chance since mine are heavy already. MH has begrudgingly decided to get snipped after this one, so down the line I want to look into an ablation or something so I can get off the hormones and hopefully have lighter periods

First pedi appointment today. Good news: J is already over birth weight at 5 days old! Way to go, my little milk monster. Bad news: he has a congenital defect where his urethral opening is on the underside of his penis, which will require surgical correction. Pedi said we’d discuss more at his 1 month appt. Hope that it’s something that’s easy to correct!

So S has his first cold at just under 6 weeks thanks to big brother. I’m actually out of town right now and not near my pedi. Dr google says to take in newborns with colds to the pedi so I guess I’ll be looking for one here.
Any words of encouragement? Did you LO catch a cold this early on?

kiri I think W has had 2 already and she’s 6 weeks old. My dr said saline helps flush out the nose but they only get worried about fevers. W isn’t actually too uncomfortable she just has some mucus. I feel so bad but daycare germs are coming home and DD has a cold so what can you do?

L is on his second cold already (the first around 2 weeks, now at 6 weeks). He hasn't had a fever and although he's pretty congested and I'm suctioning a lot, he's not struggling to breathe, so I haven't contacted the ped.

We were just told to use a humidifier, saline and suction as much as we could. Hope he feels better soon!

I finished antibiotics on Saturday for mastitis. Now I feel like I’m getting it on the other side. Assuming it’s just at the clogged duct stage, question! DS tends to eat on only one side for a lot of feedings. If he doesn’t eat on that side should I pump it? I do not want full blown mastitis again. So far it’s just painful and red so I’m hoping I caught it early enough.

Warm compresses before nursing and before/during pumping as well as massage should help. A disposable diaper filled with hot/warm water makes a nicely moldable hot pack.

Thanks guys ^^ you know, besides the parental anxiety, my general anxiety is probably the lowest it's been in years. I actually feel like I have energy, and could get stuff done if F would actually go down lol.
We had another appointment with the postnatal nurse today. He's back up at 6lbs even. She said he'll probably hit his birth weight again sometime this week =) She also didn't bother checking his bilirubin because of the weight gain and the fact that his poo is now yellow. She said he should likely be pink by sometime next week, yay! Still need to work on getting my supply up and working to get him to stay awake during feedings because right now he's feeding every hour or so, but it's getting there.

Hi guys, I'm having a baby today. My water broke overnight and was meconium stained so we're at the hospital. I didn't realize I was having contractions at all but they've been coming regularly since I checked in at 4:30. Just waiting for my OB to get here and check me to see where I'm at. Yay baby!

Contractions have slowed a bit so we're going to do a little pitocin and I told them to get the epidural guy here too.
Regular labor >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>back labor though.

E had a cold at 2 weeks old but as long as no fever my Pedi didn't need to see her. Just saline flush the nose and cool mist humidifier at night. SHe is on her 2nd cold now at almost 8 weeks.

I've nursed both my kids on one side only for each feed. Once the mastitis is under control you don't want to keep pumping, let your supply regulate based on the baby's needs.
