What kind of harm was a closing garage door going to do that those cowards were scared enough to shoot?

I logged in specifically to talk about this. I am enraged.
"The jury awarded $1 for funeral expenses and $1 for each child’s loss. But because the jury found Mascara only 1% responsible, it reduced the award to four cents. Fuck that. How is it possible that our country dehumanizes black lives this much STILL? I don't understand how anyone can even pretend that racism is dead when we allow things like this to happen. I am so mad and sad and disgusted right now.

The jury's ruling is a pretty stark reminder of how white people will believe police over a minority no matter the facts. And they told his family that he had no worth to them. |

The whole thing is wrong but the jury award is an abomination. The one police officer insists they saw the gun. I don’t have exact details handy but based on how quick the shots were fired (and I believe the first one hit his head) and the lack of blood spatter on the gun it’s like 99.9999% impossible that he had the gun out before being shot and managed to get it in his back pocket again. It’s absolutely horrifying. |
