Hi I'm back from my appointment. No news. I'm annoyed, this is a new ob and apparently the first appointment is just blood work and going over your paperwork/history. I didn't even see the doctor. I go back tomorrow at 10:30 to see the doctor and get an ultrasound. And dh took the afternoon off to come with me to this one, and now I have To go alone tomorrow with two kids. I love my doctor but she doesn't do ultrasounds in the office. I had to wait 2 weeks after my first appointment. I forgot how much the no news in first trimester sucks. I see my doctor this Thursday and have my NT scan Friday but it's been 3 weeks since I have had anything but a blood draw.

Ugh. I can't wait until we get him to poop like a normal person. He is still withholding and it's like no amount of prune juice and miralax do the trick Preach. This is my life.

And I didn't shoot down every piece of advice, I ordered the books, watch and urinal klong11 posted. Fuck this day. Ok I'll admit, I'm way late on this but, chill. Let me tell you why I respond the way i do about my experiences; there have been two times that were huge eye openers to me where I was stressing and certain words and posters jumped out at me. One was on TB, we were all massively stressing out over what food to start our N13's on and how much to give etc, and Kama rolls in with the words 'guys relax, it's just food and you're just feeding your baby' it made me look at everything a little different, calmer if you will. Then on TCF there was a sleep thread and tons of people are giving a shit ton on props and advice to rock for this many minutes, dont have a soother, wait no, have a soother, leave the room, dont leave the room go back in pat bum for this many minutes, and on and on, then mcbenny says, wait did you ever think that the kid doesn't need any of that and you're actually overstimulating them. Again, huge eye opener to me in the midst of J's newborn sleep to just chill and instead of trying all these things from all these books, just try nothing. FTR this is what I did with J and there is zero sleep stress in this house. Which is a far cry from where I was with B at her age. So, I know that is all a very, very long explanation about my maybe 'breezy dont care' approach to some parenting situations but since i've released the stress and planning in major transitions everyone does better. I don't say it to discount all the other advice given, I just say it as another maybe way to look at things. And I certainly don't do it to be bitchy (not that anyone was implying that) it's all said with love. And I was being breezy about it until the dog piling of "consistency is key, you'll only confuse him, only underwear, send him in underwear, can't stop now!" Then it got really fucking over whelming and I felt like I had failed him. My response to nam was esentially "failed, trying again in a few weeks " And with that, I'm done discussing it.

So I asked C after school is he played with the boy we met at the playground yesterday. He said "mom I can't be friend with H. He's bad. He steals toys and breaks them". Not sure how true that is but I feel bad that this kid says no one plays with him.

So... new girl got let go. I didn't mention anything to my supervisors about her so I know I'm not crazy and she was just not grasping it. I feel bad for her but I'm thankful I don't have to spend the next year with her.

Ugh. I can't wait until we get him to poop like a normal person. He is still withholding and it's like no amount of prune juice and miralax do the trick I feel you. This is one of the reasons he took so long to train. The specialist actually warned us that potty training would be a bitch a year or two ago when he ended up in the hospital for withholding. What's M doing? Going in a pull-up at night?

Peach, it's not a personal attack on you. I have seen people giving you advice since you decided to train last weekend and a number of times, you said why it won't work for you. The kids who PT in 4 minutes and never have an accident again are unicorns, but you can definitely make the process easier on yourself in a lot of ways. Nobody is saying you failed your kid. They're giving you advice to work smarter, not harder.

tgrimes, super cute! peachsmama - I totally understand how you are feeling. It really felt like an insurmountable task. You will figure out what works for M and he will get potty trained. Serious question, what happens if he is not PT when he starts preschool? Do they really not let him go there? Like, they'll kick him out? That seems strange to me.Like, is there a certain number of accidents they can't exceed? Sorry if that sounds stupid, but I'm in a preschool/day care setting, and the only rule they have is no field trips till they are potty trained. In the preschool my kids attemd, staff cannot change them if they have an accident, parents must come do it. It's a license thing. There is a difference between a daycare license and a preschool one. This is why we had a PT emergency. dC can help them clean up if they have an accident but no pull-ups or diapers because the license is different for prescool and pre-K. vino - it's funny you say that. S was that unicorn baby that forgives out sleep right from the start. Swaddle, rock, sleep. So when Ben refused to sleep I had no idea what to do. Then I did too much. I tried everything. I posted here for advice. I lurked his bmb and took their advice. I read parenting blogs. Nothing worked well and I still had a baby who was barely sleeping and I was exhausted and overwhelmed by it. I didn't want to CIO bc I was terrified of waking Sam. Then one night I was finishing feeding B before bed and sam needed me for something. So I plopped him in the crib and ran to sam. He fell right asleep! From that point on, I just plopped him down (on his belly) and he slept great. He now sleeps through the night. It's like I was trying too hard or something. I think it also just reminded me how all kids are different. S lived to be rocked and cuddled. B, not so much. In my case, however, this did not apply to potty training... I had to really focus on it. Edited to add - this is about what you posted about the sleep advice and what mcbenny said

Ketchup chips sound like how I would be tortured if I was ever captured by an enemy. Just thinking of it makes me had.
Kinder eggs are the bomb. My BIL and family live in Germany and bring them over whenever they visit. S goes crazy for them.

Does anyone have any bubble toys they recommend?
N loves blowing bubbles but he keeps breaking all the wands (cheap dollar store ones) and I'm just tired of having to go out and buy them all the time.

I will not stand for this ketchup chip hate, not at least until you've tried them. I'll do a blind tasting when we have a N13 GTG, and no jewels it won't be like torture.

I don't like ketchup, so the chips don't sound great but I'd probably still eat them. I mean, chips.

Nail biter moms - they have nail biting nail polish!!! I'm priming the hell out of that. I cannot handle this habit, I don't even like holding his germy little hands lately. I ask him if he chewed them and he says "I tried but it didn't work.." bc there is NOTHING to chew. Fingers crossed this does the trick.

Cheeksmum, we like these two. The second one that we have doesn't have a crank, but a button you press because it's battery-operated (but I'm sure the crank would be just as fun). It has a little dish that you pour the bubble solution into. ![](https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170613/e41680773c2f45d76f32f6247ab67080.jpg) ![](https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170613/a9b0baaa9ac9bf3cbf7007f5411a7132.jpg)

guster what if you just did an Amazon order to the hotel? Then you could get all their favorite treats and maybe some toy or book or something for the kids. And if you gave prime she'll get it tomorrow

guster maybe Uber eats? For takeout? Someone got that for us while we were at the hospital and it was handy. Maybe a local bakery or sweets shop could deliver? I wouldn't do something too perishable like an edible arrangement unless they have a real fridge and something to store it in. Nice of you to send something, I'm sure they will appreciate it.

What about one of those cookie-pies from Papa John's? Wasn't that what we were all ordering during our N13 pregnancies? Maybe not the classiest gift ever but yummy ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) You are sweet to think of them. ETA tag guster

One of those cookie-pies from Papa John's? Wasn't that what we were all ordering during our N13 pregnancies? So funny. When I called the hotel to find out what I could do, I asked if there was a papa johns nearby (totally thinking about the cookie pie) because I remember how prevalent it was during the third trimester. Unfortunately, they told me they only had a Domino's nearby.

I have to brush my teeth or immediately eat something with a strong flavour to get the taste out of my mouth. Before you use it on him, try it yourself.
