I think my neighbors might be separating.. I saw him in the pool with another woman. And I haven't seen the wife in a while. And she's not responding to any messages..
Besides my initial "Oh I hope not! Their poor kids!" All I thought was shit, hope the new wife lets me use the pool!
ETA I'm a horrible person.

xolastunicornxo I was in the Dominican right before testing positive with Evan. 24/7 drinking, eating all the raw fish, hot tubs, baking in the sun, etc. My OB was completely unconcerned. I hope it's a great appointment!

S was end of the month so he was probably conceived later than Evan. Maybe we were there together ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

calimocho, I just reread what I wrote. That sounds creepy. I just meant maybe we were there at the same time and crossed paths. Not like you were involved in any way conceiving my baby. Ok now I sound creepier. I'm going to stop typing now.

peachsmama, I'm sorry you're having a hard time with training. To add to the conversation: - we did not expect E to tell us when he had to go. Day 1 we took him every 20 minutes; day 2, 30 minutes; day 3, 45 minutes. We had daycare take him every 45-60 minutes for the first few weeks. It wasn't until some time passed that he started telling us he had to go. - E did much better standing to pee than sitting. I've had some friends who had their kids aim at cheerios in the toilet -- like a game. - we used a star chart and had a box of prizes that he got to choose something from. First day, any pee in the potty got a star and a prize, plus any poop. Next day, 3 stars got prize, plus poop got a prize. We kept pushing the "target" further out, and did this for about 5 weeks (at which point we stopped when we ran out of prizes). In our case, prizes were dollar store toys and m&ms. For my nephew, he would get a piece of candy for a star, and then an outing after a certain number (for ice cream, or to his favorite store, or something like that). I would give him a week or so to get over the last round of trying, but really talk up the potty and what a big boy he is, and then give it another go.

Also, hi! I'm in FL for a 48 hour trip to visit my grandparents. My nana is turning 90 on Friday and my papa is 96, so I've gotta take all the opportunities to see them.

And I didn't shoot down every piece of advice, I ordered the books, watch and urinal klong11 posted. Fuck this day. Ok I'll admit, I'm way late on this but, chill. Let me tell you why I respond the way i do about my experiences; there have been two times that were huge eye openers to me where I was stressing and certain words and posters jumped out at me. One was on TB, we were all massively stressing out over what food to start our N13's on and how much to give etc, and Kama rolls in with the words 'guys relax, it's just food and you're just feeding your baby' it made me look at everything a little different, calmer if you will. Then on TCF there was a sleep thread and tons of people are giving a shit ton on props and advice to rock for this many minutes, dont have a soother, wait no, have a soother, leave the room, dont leave the room go back in pat bum for this many minutes, and on and on, then mcbenny says, wait did you ever think that the kid doesn't need any of that and you're actually overstimulating them. Again, huge eye opener to me in the midst of J's newborn sleep to just chill and instead of trying all these things from all these books, just try nothing. FTR this is what I did with J and there is zero sleep stress in this house. Which is a far cry from where I was with B at her age. So, I know that is all a very, very long explanation about my maybe 'breezy dont care' approach to some parenting situations but since i've released the stress and planning in major transitions everyone does better. I don't say it to discount all the other advice given, I just say it as another maybe way to look at things. And I certainly don't do it to be bitchy (not that anyone was implying that) it's all said with love.

Ok after reading all this potty advice, maybe I need to force O to do #2 on the potty. I've been taking his Dr's advice to wait until he is ready but GD-it I'm sick of changing his giant poops. This was our tact with Bradley. When he asked for a diaper one night bc he needed to go, we put him in his bathroom and baby-gated him in while DH hung out in his room. We said he could not come out until he'd gone #2 in the potty. DH was prepared for quite the wait, tears, bargaining, etc. Nope. Thirty seconds later, B called out that he was done. We were shocked. Literally, that was all it took...after *months* of trying anything we could think of and so much stressing out. That was in the fall, and he has not asked for a diaper since. It was just like a switch flipped. Some of you may think I'm the worst mom in the world for this, and maybe I am, but it worked for us so just passing it along. Um. If you're the worst mom, so am I. We pretty much did the same thing. And took the tears and screaming that came along with it. He was 3 at that point. He's not a little baby. He's crying because he doesn't want to. Shrug. I don't care. I don't want to change diapers. Poop on the toilet, kid.

So much of this PT stuff comes down to what type of kid you have.
My kid responds best to praise and prizes, so that's what we did. Forcing things on him causes meltdowns that there's no way to recover from.
However, if I knew he was screaming/crying just because he was being stubborn, I'd have no qualms about forcing the issue a la Cher and Flamingo. Aint nobody got time for those kinds of battles!
You do what you have to do to get the results you need.

Peach, I'm sorry you're getting upset but I think there's a lot of great advice here and I think a lot of it can apply to Peach. I have to agree with everyone saying starting and stopping is not helpful at all. From the moment my kid started training (and it took a while for him to take to it), school asked that I send him in underwear. Sometimes that meant he had accidents, sometimes he surprised me. If that's really not feasible, and truthfully I would ask your sitter if you could send him in underwear, I would put him in pull-ups and still continue training. We did that when we traveled, went to amusement parks, whatever. Basically, every time MH or I went to the bathroom when we were out, we brought him, we offered the bathroom every 20-30 minutes when we were home with him. If I thought he was about to go, I ran him in the bathroom. If you have a kid that takes a while to take to training, this sucks. It's a lot of hard work. But pretty much the moment we decided to train, we didn't back off. It took us about 4 months before I would say he was actually trained, but continuing to reinforce and not offer any reprieves definitely made him get the message that nothing was changing, so he should start using the toilet.

Ugh. I can't wait until we get him to poop like a normal person.
He is still withholding and it's like no amount of prune juice and miralax do the trick

Is it bad that I'm so happy h is finally showing an interest in TV? Maybe because he hasn't been feeling well but for the last few days he'll actually sit and snuggle watching tv for a few minutes. So much better than wanting to be held, but wanting down, held, down etc etc. This is me. We are trying to unpack, catch up in yard work, ect. I was thrilled L sat and watched some tv!

Hi I'm back from my appointment. No news. I'm annoyed, this is a new ob and apparently the first appointment is just blood work and going over your paperwork/history. I didn't even see the doctor. I go back tomorrow at 10:30 to see the doctor and get an ultrasound. And dh took the afternoon off to come with me to this one, and now I have To go alone tomorrow with two kids.

You guys are crazy. Ketchup chips are terrible.
But Kinder surprise eggs are legit. And you can totally find them in the us if you're willing to go to some questionable establishments run by former soviet bloc immigrants.

I have negative interest in ketchup chips. But I would love Christmas cards and the occasional kinder egg. I'll bye honest that I would likely open the egg. I love a good surprise!

I've heard of a lot of the bigger practices doing this now. I miss the good old days (3 years ago) when you saw a real doc that maybe knew your name.
