....because I have a complaint. It was a LONG day yesterday. We had an extensive eval for the 1 year old for early intervention and he is behind in two areas, one of which I hadn't really considered. He is perfectly healthy, expected to catch up relatively quickly and I'm being over dramatic about it but I have a LOT of guilt. Basically I'm exhausted.
This morning at 5:30, after I was already up with one kid, H tells me that he has to leave for work right then with no warning. So I had to then get myself and two toddlers completely ready, pack lunches and throw dinner in the crock pot alone. This is generally no big deal if I had KNOWN about it because I would have planned my morning much differently and done all that before the kids got up. So now I'm annoyed with everything AND feeling lots of mom guilt.

I got home extra late last night from work and when I picked DD up from my parents, they said she was so tired that she ASKED to go to bed early.
I must be running my kid ragged because it is 8:15 and poor girl is still KO'd to the world. I, on the other hand, can barely sleep and need to cut the grass now so am up and eating a poptart like the adult I am 😀

gimmeaQ Don't feel guilty. Sometimes kids just need some extra help and if you don't do that for a living you might not know what to look for. My kids have all gotten or are in ei and it's a wonderful program

gimmeaQ, commiseration. Little tweaks to my routine/schedule completely derail me. It's tough.

gimmeaQ that would frustrate me too nothings are hard with little ones. Power through and it’ll be ok! And don’t beat yourself up about the eval. Sometimes it harder to see things when you’re in the thick of it. It’s great that you had him evaluated and now can get the help he needs!

That’s supposed to say mornings* are hard with little ones.
Obviously, my typos prove it’s true.

DD was up twice during the night, puking. So, we are just having a chill on the couch day. At least its cooler than yesterday.
Also hoping to hear on a job offer 😬

My gym kinda fell apart and so I’ve been forced to try new workouts. It’s been hard getting out of my shell and routine, but it’s been awesome! I’ve finally broken through a plateau and I’m loving 6 am workouts again! Never thought that would happen!
Anyways, did 6 am workout this morning and now enjoying coffee before the tornadoes awake. And by tornadoes, I mean my children. I have the day off so we might go swim at my parents.

I slept like shit last night. I need to decide whether I’m going to stay in this house with my current financial situation. They sent me a lease renewal, and I’ve been letting it rot in my inbox.

My kids have all gotten or are in ei and it's a wonderful program thanks. for everyone else I very easily recognize this and would absolutely tell a friend/acquaintance/whomever that there is nothing to feel guilty about and great job knowing he needed some help, etc. it's just harder to believe these things for myself. I am really looking forward to starting with the EI therapists. The team that was at our house yesterday was comfortable and thorough and I'm happy that their jobs exist.

gimmeaQ my older son did EI starting at age 2, mostly for speech. He's now 8, just finished 2nd grade, and was released out of special education a few weeks ago. No more IEP, no more speech therapy, nothing. Early intervention did for him exactly what it was supposed to do. I know how stressful the process is and sometimes you end up hearing things about your child that are difficult to hear. It is so worth it though IME.

gimmeaQ, it's great that you took the steps to get him evaluated early so that he can get the help he needs and he'll be able to catch up in no time. I think that shows that you are a great mom, not the other way around. And it seems like you could use more support and consideration from your partner and I hope that you could have a conversation with him about it.

I bought off brand lucky charms and my kid threw a fit because they don’t have unicorn marshmallows in them. Get over it dude. I bought a big ass bag for the same price as a small box.

Tomorrow is my kid's last day at the infant room at his daycare. Should I get something for the teachers? Just a card? Gifts?

Present. The puking kid was fine after a day of rest yesterday but he was up all night in a delirious moaning state. He called for me every hour for no reason. I'm beyond tired. DH is traveling for work again so at least I can go to bed when the kids do tonight.

I have Ds2’s well visit today and get to take the baby with us. I promised McDonald’s if ds2 is good at the doctor because I have a feeling that we will have to wait a long time.

We’re on a vacation road trip to celebrate our fifth wedding anniversary, which is Friday, and it’s like “how you know you’re a parent when” your kid is with his grandparents all week and you still wake up at 6 a.m.

Next time save the empty box of Lucky Charms and slide in the bag of the off brand. They won't know the difference.

Most cereal I buy is off brand (a few things just aren’t as good as the real deal) but he’s seen the real thing at daycare. 😒
