Here for it. I finished it Sunday.
I am still not sure what to make of it. Do we think Rothstein was the mastermind?

Okay #1 - the hoarding
WTF. How were they all hoarders?? Did they hoard on purpose to hide all their secrets?

Not saying that hoarding = automatic mental illness, but I think a lot of times it can go hand in hand.

I’m shook over Jessica Hoopsick’s confession. But I still feel as though Brian Wells knew about the heist. How was he so nonchalant during the whole robbery?? He was so chill with a lollipop. It was so weird.

I watched this a few weeks ago. I agree, he had to have thought the bomb was fake until it started beeping he was just way too calm. I couldn’t believe they showed it going off. I actually screamed. The whole series was mesmerizing.

I think they roped Wells in by telling him he would get a cut of the $$, but they intended to kill him the whole time. He was the fall guy- I don't think he knew the bomb was real until he was sitting on the road.

I sort of didn't like that Jessica seemed to come out of nowhere with this confession. But, I guess that's the way the investigation went and the police didn't know about her until they started unraveling everything either.

I also wondered if Trey was scared of Marjorie. She was terrifying. I wondered if he only felt comfortable releasing the documentary after she died.

It was so weird. I don't think he knew the bomb was real. This was also my take away. He perpetuated the "Black guys did it" story and was way too relaxed. I mean maybe they scared him into lying about who did it, but I dunno. I also listened to a Case File episode (podcast) about it, so my info is a mix of the two sources.

It was so weird. I kind of felt like her confession was partially a fuck you to Marjorie, but it's been a few weeks, so I can't remember exactly why I felt that way except that she said something like "I'm smart, too" in relation to Marjorie.

Another reason I don't eat from people -
"A true crime thriller documentary centered on a Hobart woman's role in two gruesome murders is set to premier for a two-night event 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday.
The documentary, "Dead North," suggests Kelly Cochran may have been a serial killer who also fed the remains of her dismembered lover to neighbors at a barbecue in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Cochran pleaded guilty to the 2016 murder of her husband, Jason Cochran, at their home on the 7100 block of Mississippi Street in Hobart. "

I just finished episode one. So freaking bizarre. I watched it while on the bike at the gym and my childcare bracelet broke off and went flying. Made me jump big time.

idk if Majorie was as smart as everyone said. Her voice was annoying AF though. Not sure how she got away with so many murders and lawsuits. Sounds like she just got lucky, not that she outsmarted anyone...idk i just found her highly annoying and whiney.
I think Brian knew about it, but there were def contradictions in people's stories about his involvement. He was way too calm while sitting there with a bomb around his neck.
I also think it's crazy there was no evidence on the bomb or letter. It was a strange documentary for sure.

I finished watching about a week ago. I found it really well done and so interesting. I think Marjorie was definitely the mastermind behind it all. She had a long history of taking advantage of people and was a master manipulator.
Rothstein was not innocent by any stretch of the imagination. I think he was so in love with Marjorie and followed along with what she said/wanted.
I feel terrible for Brian and his family members. I agree with previous posters, that he probably went along with the heist but didn’t know the bomb was real until he heard the ticking, and of course it was too late by then. Marjorie and Rothstein took advantage of Brian’s innocent and trusting nature.
Hoopsick is somewhat of a question mark to me still. She definitely had an ax to grind with Marjorie, which makes her confession somewhat questionable. But, I can definitely see a person like her, living the way she did (drugs, prostitution, etc.) doing what she said she did for the money, and keeping it a secret for that long.
I teared up at the end when they revealed Hoopsick had a baby who bares a strong resemblance to Brian. What a crazy ending to a sad story.
