I want to try and read more this summer so I need some good recommendations. I'm not super picky on genre. I would love if it was in a series so that I could read the series, but I'm not picky.

I've gotten a lot of recs from the "What are you reading" threads or the book club (that I fail to participate in). I usually just read for entertainment with occassional historical fiction.
Some of my favorites recently: The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, Big Little Lies (there are others by L. Moriarty but liked this one best), The Baker's Secret. For beach reads I like Elin Hilderbrand - The Matchmaker was probably my favorite of hers. Some of her books tie in or reference characters from other books and she also has a Winter Street series.
I've also gotten into Beatriz Williams and she has a Schulyer Sisters series - which isn't really a series but focuses in on each of the sisters and tie together somewhat.

I agree with Elin Hilderbrand. Her new books are good, but I like the older ones best

You should read the Crazy Rich Asian series by Kevin Kwan. There are 3 books, and the first one was made into a movie which comes out in August and looks so good. They were a fun read.
