Do any of you make cold brew coffee at home? Have a certain pitcher or whatever is used that you recommend? Any tips?
I don't drink coffee so I know nothing about it. My husband is costing me a fortune buying premade coffee and I'm over it. We buy it in half gallons at the grocery store so it's cheaper than take out but still $20 a week. He read about how hot coffee releases the acid that's bad for your teeth and makes you shit, but cold brew apparently doesn't do this. So he wants to make it like that and not a standard coffee pot. Thanks for any insight!

My H is a huge fan of cold brew, so he makes it somewhat regularly. He uses a French press overnight. Also, he grinds the beans a little more course than they are when using a drip coffee maker.

I don't make it often, really just in the warmer months, so I just use a big glass pitcher and strain it through a fine mesh strainer lined with paper towels.

MH makes cold brew in his French press and then puts it in the fridge. There are 2638373846 tutorials online for it. He loooooves it.

We use our French press but use more grounds (coarse) than you would for hot coffee.

Does the Toddy system make better cold brew than with a French press?

Course ground beans in a french press. We make it the night before and put it in the fridge and it's perfect by the morning.

I more or less use this method when I'm fancy thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/perfect-iced-coffee/Otherwise I just put brewed coffee in the fridge.

I'm too lazy to deal with straining all those grounds anymore.

Another vote for putting it in the French press the night before. Works perfectly for us.

I use a French Press in the fridge overnight and regular grounds. I store it in Mason jars in the fridge and usually drink it w/ a little homemade vanilla simple syrup and a lot of milk.

We have 2 of the kitchen aid ones so we have 1 batch brewing at all times. It's worked out really well. MH was going to DD every morning to get coffee so it has saved us so much $$$!
