What's everyone use? Did anyone change after reading ISWTE? I'm looking to move away from aluminum deodorant but I don't want to be a stinky mess. I'm sure there's a there went family thread so if you wanna link me to it, that's cool.
I'm looking at Nati.v brand. Anyone know off the top of their head if it's "egg" friendly?

I haven't had any success finding an ISWTE approved deodorant that also works well. I'm using Arbonne's right now, but it doesn't last me all day. I'll be following for suggestions

Grad warning**** amberr, I switched to aluminum free deodorant a few years ago and have tried many natural choices. It takes awhile for your body to adjust to not using the antiperspirant, so I'd carry in my purse whatever I was using at that time to reapply. I had luck with Crystal Essence, particularly the orange colored roll on. But after about a year, it stopped working as well. I'd try that one! Also I just recently got Lavanila from sephora. It's worked really well so far, but makes my underarms red and irritated. It's the baking soda or something they use. So I don't put it on after I shave right away. m.sephora.com/the-healthy-deodorant-P237120It's definitely a trial and error situation when finding the right one for your own body chemistry.

I use Crystal. I've found that the original one that's the actual alum stone works better than the Crystal Essence ones for me, though the Essence is easier if you need something for a gym bag.

I've been searching for the a natural deodorant for over 6 months since I read ISWTE. I've tried Na.tive, American Pro.venance, and To.m's. None of them were as good as the deodorants with aluminum. Na.tive was the worst of them all IMO. I've got a couple more on my list to try, but I feel your pain!!

I saw some crystal thing and thought it sounded super hippy dippy and hokey. But, i have no idea what I was looking at. If it is a rock thingy, how does it work? Like, I know I'll still sweat bc not antiperspirant but HOW does it keep me from smelling like a teenage boy!?

By the time I got to work (20ish minutes after putting it on) I couldn't even tell I had deodorant on. After a couple weeks using it MH even mentioned he noticed I smelled more. For him to say something meant it must have been pretty noticeable! Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

I've tried a few! Tom's made my skin peel off 😬 Crystal Essence was OK but I just missed the drier feeling of a stick rather than the roll-on liquid.
I got a trio of minis from Lavanila on Amazon and it's the best I've used so far. The scents are nice and they seem to last longer than the others I've tried so far. I am hiking all over the city these days so I'm back to Secret for now, but I'll be back to that next. I've been told that Arm & Hammer's aluminum free formula is good on a beauty blog once but haven't tried it.

amberr, It looks like a rock crystal. It was so weird to initially use it, but I love it now. You just get it a little wet under the faucet and apply, then rinse after use. I store mine upside down. sounds weird.... It is made from mineral salts and the salts prevent odor causing bacteria. That's what makes you smell. So even after a work out I may smell a little like sweat, but I don't smell like BO. I also use essential lavender oil or whatever scent I am in the mood for. I rub some in thy hands and then just apply a quick pat under each arm to give myself a smell, since the crystal does not smell like anything at all. I heard Norwex came out with a new deodorant as well using oils and stuff, but have not tried that one. The crystal has worked for me for at least 2 years now, so I just stick with it. ohinvrtedworld, I used the Arm and Hammer one for a while. I did like that one as well. I actually started my aluminum free journey by using speed stick for men. The deodorant not antiperspirant. It worked awesome but I didn't like smelling like a guy. Plus it's not all natural, it was just when I wanted to get away from the aluminum.

Dogpaddle29 so, does the Crystal eventually "use up" and need replacing?

amberr, Yes, it is like rock salt or a salt lick for animals. It wears down gradually. But one deodorant crystal can last a good 6 months to a year. I think it's on the pricier side, like $14 but since it lasts so long its kind of a non issue for me.

I saw a crystal deodorant when I was in the checkout line at marshalls.
What impact does the aluminum have?

I saw a crystal deodorant when I was in the checkout line at marshalls. What impact does the aluminum have? the aluminum, from my understanding, is rumored to be linked to breast cancer. I read articles that both dispute and confirm the link. However, for me, it's more about reducing exposure to chemicals. So like, the aluminum is what acts as an antiperspirant (keeps you from sweating), but sweat is a natural bodily function and has a purpose. So, I'm looking for a plain deodorant not antiperspirant combo. But. I was also wNting an "fertility friendly" form. There is also controversial studies saying aluminum has negative effects on sperm health, also unproven.
