Who is doing their kegels? How many? How often?
My midwife had me do a kegel and asked me to "now squeeze all the way". Of course at that point I was already squeezing as hard as I could 🤣.
So I'm determined to work on them. I had the WORST labor with DD so want to do everything I can to avoid that again!

I'm such a wuss. Kegels seem hard.
I had a VBAC w DS2 and legit pushed for 3 hours before he finally arrived so Kegels is probably a good idea.
I'll start in... second tri.

I'm having a scheduled c section. I'm not worried about kegels. I only do them to help me not pee my pants. 😂

You are the first person I've encountered that pushed longer than I did. Huge props to you and your MW for letting you stay at it. Its got to be easier for us this time! Let's commit to the Kegels but in second tri.

I need to do them but I suck at remembering. Last pregnancy I did them at stoplights. I should try that again.

I don't do kegels but I think squats are supposed to be great for strengthening your pelvic floor! It worked for my first delivery, DD was sunny side up and I still only pushed for 15 minutes.

Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk I am a Pure Barre and group fitness instructor so I'm squatting allllll the day long and yes it's so good for you. However I pushed for 2 hours. 😭 On the upside I didn't tear and was back at barre class 2 weeks postpartum. So it still made a difference just not with pushing lol.

I don't think levels are useless, but I think baby size and position plus your pelvic size have a lot to do with push time too. I didn't really do kegels but all three I pushed less than five minutes. The girls all had less than 10th percentile heads, and none of them were over 7 pounds. 🤷🏼♀️

I had bad bleeding issues with my first so I become a fragile flower while pregnant now out of habit BUT after I have this baby and I'm out of the early zombie/nursing all the time stage it's my goal to really tone up. I'm super interested in barre method. I'm going to ask you all kinds of questions at some point.

I have an super small messed up pelvis and my kids head % were both over 90%. WTF. I'm totally in awe of the ten min pushing. Great work! 👏🏻

I went to a mommy & me yoga class led by a local doula & she told me kegels actually don't help-- that squats are really the best way to help with your pelvic floor! (I know this has already been covered haha).
But my personal anecdote is that I never did kegels with #1 but I worked out consistently and that included tons of squats every day. I've never had issues with the peeing or any of that since my first delivery and I think it's absolutely thanks to all the squats!

Planned c section here! But it's always a good idea to do those anyways. Thanks for the reminder. I'm doing them as I type!
