I really feel for people who have early risers everyday. I like the mornings but not that early 😴 What shot did he need? I thought there wasn’t any at the 9 month appt

Aww poor J king26 N woke up twice and dh was supposed to take the second wake up so I shook him awake and then he was taking his time to go get him and N was screeeeaming his head off and standing in the crib so I finally just got up and went myself and then dh was all huffy bc “I was going!” Like I want to get to N quickly so he doesn’t wake up so much and I can lull him back to sleep faster dude! And of course then N wouldn’t let me put him back in his crib for like an extra half hour 😒 so I am tired. 😴 working 12h shifts today and tomorrow. jt2378 man I hate early mornings. That is my life now. But at least on my days off N sleeps til 7ish. Are you guys doing anything fun this weekend? I need to live vicariously through all of you.

I’m the one who gets man colds. Haha! I mean, I guess not too bad. Even though I’ve been sick I’ve done laundry everyday, cooked and cleaned all 3 meals, grocery shopped and still out for walks with the dog. Long gone are the days curled up on the couch with tv while I recover.

A is going to be 10 months old in a couple days! I’ve never been super concerned with milestones, but for some reason I’ve been overthinking them lately. There’s some things A isn’t doing yet, like waving hi/bye, clapping, looking to where I point (he just looks at my hand). I know it’s not big stuff, but I’m...idk hoping it’ll click soon.

But I understand your concern. I think most stuff is like ranges though. Like 9-12mo so they still have time.

Sorry you have been sick, M woke up yesterday with a cold out of nowhere ugh. As far as milestones, I know it’s hard not to worry but there is such a broad age range to do all that stuff. My first was not hitting them as early as M has been (didn’t crawl till 9 months and M was 7 ish months) and I swear it’s because she has to keep up with her big sis 😂

You’re both right addymac & jt2378. I think I’m dealing with some residual ppa and it’s making me anxious about things I was breezy about before, if that makes sense.

I find I go in spurts about being overly anxious about different things and I have to calm myself down a lot every now and then. I also get defensive about things that make me anxious. Like, my mom kept trying to make N speak. Like he babbles and screeches but he doesn’t say words. She spent half her trip just repeating things like MAMA MAMA MAMA DADA DADA DADA to him and then being like. He won’t say it. Like I KNOW DUDE HES 9mo! Leave him alone! I’m worried he’ll be a delayed speaker bc of the bilingual thing (Ben read somewhere that bilingual kids tend to speak later than normal) and I’m worried I won’t notice or brush it off and then my kid will be 20mo and not speaking like my bff’s daughter. Like stop fueling my anxiety, mother! And trying to get him to wave hi and bye. He just stares at you. And I’m like. Leave his arm alone. He’ll figure it out eventually. Or he will just never wave lol.

@easilyunamused j scored low on speech and gross motor buy the doctor said that's fine at 9 months that they expect a huge range at that age. It'll be more definite at the 1 year appointment . But anyhow he wasn't worried about j. jt2378 he got his 3rd hep b vaccine.

R woke up at like 5am. She was sitting up - so, I shut the monitor off. She ended up going back to sleep until 7:20am. But, I was awake the whole time.
R just started clapping today. She was sort of waving last week, but hasn’t done it since. She’s pulled herself to standing three or so times in a couple week time period. The learning process is different with each kid.

Of course she had a language explosion a week before the appt and they Loled us and said she was more than fine. She never shuts up now 🤣

J is ten months and not doing a lot of that but he is trying to walk and babbling a lot. There are some things he is ahead of, so I wouldn't worry unless your doctor says something is up. A is going to be 10 months old in a couple days! I’ve never been super concerned with milestones, but for some reason I’ve been overthinking them lately. Staying home with two kids is kicking my butt, and DD is obsessed with my phone. So every time I try to sneak using it during the day she gets mad if I don’t give it to her. And I’m like, no, iPhones aren’t for babies- silly!
My sister has 3 teenagers right now, and listening to her talk about their attitude/issues today made me glad I’m just dealing with a 3.5 yo and a 9 mo. I may not be sleeping- but at least I’m not dealing with that attitude yet?!

@easilyunamused E doesn't do any of those things either. She just started army crawling in the last few weeks. She can pull herself up to her knees. And she has an older brother to chase after and shes still just happy chilling on the floor sitting with a few toys. 🤷♀️
My DS had a speech delay and didn't really have many words until 2. He had about 6 months of early intervention and you wouldn't know he had issues now. All kids develop at their own pace. Try not to let anxiety get the best of you. But know that there are services available if you need them (way way way down the road... I'm 10000% not saying anyone needs to be looking into any kind of services now!).

pennylane I'm sorry sah is kicking your butt. I don't know how you do It. kristyw I agree early intervention services are wonderful and there is no shame in having any baby evaluated down the road. Just to put it out there, I'm a special ed teacher and work with kids coming in from EI so if anyone has questions down the road in here! As for milestones, j is just now crawl, he babbles but doesn't say anything. He does wave if you wave to him, but he doesn't pull up, he can't get to sitting on his own. Like I said before, the doctor wasn't worried about it at all because all kids develop differently.

Darn. I'm so behind. @easilyunamused, baby h doesn't do any of that either! I forgot he was supposed to wave at this age. But like others have said, they all develop at their own rate. He seems a little more coordinated than my first, who walked at a little over year, so now dh and I have a bet as to whether he'll walk before his birthday. He thinks he will, and I think he won't.
Oh, and he got vampire teeth!!! The canines came in this weekend like the Dr predicted. I'll post a pic once they are far out enough to see.

Oh gosh yellowcat I hope he keeps recovering quickly. And I hope your guests stay is short and sweet and not too needy. Are you an archeologist? What kind of dig are you doing? I am so interested to hear about your job!!! Dh actually just flat out told his dad we weren’t doing visitors this month bc of time constraints but really he just wants a break (and barely has a relationship with his dad so he doesn’t even care to see him) bc he doesn’t want overnight visitors for awhile. I get it but I feel awkward about it. Good thing we see his dad *maybe* once a year and considering his dad forgot DHs birthday two years in a row.... we don’t feel that badly about it.
