I am done pumping and I feel so bad about it, which is ridiculous, so ridiculous. I was down to getting two oz from almost 40 minutes of pumping and my left nipple (TMI) was like something out of a horror movie and just wouldn't heal. But I feel so guilty because 1 year was my original goal, and I didn't make it. Now every time he's fussy or doesn't sleep well, I wonder if it's because I didn't pump longer, which I know is completely irrational. Hopefully I snap out of it today. I brought my pump with me to work. . . Dh doesn't get it at all, so I'm venting here.

You’ve done what you could- try not to let any what if’s get to you! Sorry your H isn’t being more understanding- although I think it’s hard for them to get it bc their hormones aren’t all wrapped up in it.

I understand the guilt, I’m already feeling guilty about my plan of likely weaning at a year instead of letting her self wean lol. You have done a great job! Pumping that long sounds so painful, try to release the guilt and be proud 😊

thinkchocolate05 You did an amazing job, momma! I remember feeling upset about not making my goal with DS and feeling guilty that he didn't get breastmilk as long as I wanted. Being done was so hard for me...and then a week or so later it was amazing to not have to think about it or worry about it anymore.

thinkchocolate05 sending hugs. Try to release the guilt. (Like I should talk!). You’ve done an AMAZING!!!!!!!!! Job - 9months is wonderful! You’re an awesome mama and let yourself wallow for a bit- personally I like to wallow in the comfort of my couch surrounded by donuts and ice cream 😆 or do it in your office so your H doesn’t have to deal with it. And vent away 💜 we get it. And let’s be real- shitty sleep is not bc of change in milk to formula. It’s bc our babies hate sleep 😂😭 my mom keeps telling me to switch to formula at bedtime bc that should help him sleep better than my measly BM 🙄 sooo maybe your kiddo will start STTN with formula!

My kid has always had formula and he never sleeps. At some point we need to accept that we cannot fix some things. Though I really miss sleep... thinkchocolate05 sending hugs. king26 yellowcat oh I agree, which is why I roll my eyes so hard when my mom continues to suggest it. Then again there is very little I do with N that she did with us and “we turned out perfectly fine.. we slept trough the night just fine... we laid on our bellies... we had blankets on us... we (insert whatever)..” 🙄🙄🙄🙄

So several things. How do you guys do longer car trips? I'm going to my parents which is 2 hours each way. With 3 naps he mapped on the way up, catnap there, napped home but now he's on 2 naps and I'm not sure what to do. Then we have a 4 hour drive in July. Thoughts??
I had another question and now don't have a clue what it was lol

MOTY over here... guess who had a blowout at Whole Foods and then when I picked him up to wipe the back of him and the changing pad before putting on his new diaper pissed all over me and then didn’t have a second outfit in his diaper bag? I gave up and walked him out of WF in a hoodie that wasn’t zipped up, a diaper on, and one sock (bc the other one was drenched in piss) while I just wore my pee soaked clothes all the way home. Oh and he was screaming his head off the entire time bc he was tired and ready for a nap and apparently didn’t enjoy having shit caked up his back.
😒😆 I was ready to cry bc the whole trip to WF was a disaster with my parents but by the time I got home all I could do was laugh about it bc wtf. Of course. 🤦🏻♀️

king26 For our road trips I like to try to leave right before a nap time so that baby sleeps for a good chunk of it. But now with two kids, we just throw any sort of sleep schedule out the window and stop as needed when they need to eat. addymac Oh no!! What a day! I’ve definitely had my fair share of unprepared Mom moments. All you can do is laugh in the end.

For long trips (5-7 hours) we leave at bedtime and put them in pajamas so we can transfer them to bed right away. It doesn't always work but if I am traveling alone with them I prefer it because it is less diaper and feeding stops. So several things. How do you guys do longer car trips? addymac, I can relate. When were were in South Carolina we drove the hour to Charleston and in that time, A blew out his diaper and of course I didn’t bring an extra set of clothes. So I was trying to wipe him down in the car, while MH ran to whatever store he could find to get some clothes. He spent almost $40! 😫

The vacation went well otherwise for the most part. A started to teeth and ran a high fever one day, and that sucked. He never wanted to chill in any restaurant we went in, so I either had to nurse him the whole time, or we took turns walking him around the restaurant while the other ate. Not ideal.
Now we’ve been back home a couple days and we both have killer head colds. Not fun.

Ugh @easilyunamused that stinks about the restaurant. And the colds. I ALWAYS get sick after I get home from vacation. It’s the worst!! Sorry you know the pain. I was debating buying him some clothes at WF but decided to just let his naked one sock self go home like that 🤦🏻♀️

king26 We also try to time car trips with naps. Baby h is not a car sleeper, though, which sucks. One of us sits in the back to entertain him, I feed him puffs (although I worry about choking in the car), and bring small toys he's never seen before. Music also seems to help. I don't know if your library has this, but mine lets you check out music albums on your phone for free, so I checked out a bunch of Raffi and other kids tunes before our last trip and it seemed to help. addymac How stressful at whole foods, but also quite funny. @easilyunamused I have to laugh at your dh spending $40 on clothes. That sucks about the restaurant. I usually end up juggling both boys while dh eats, but if we're with family, they all yell at him and I get to eat first.

J has had a low fever for three days that finally broke today. After keeping a 2 year old inside for days I finally got her out. Parent fail! I put her in flip-flops she must have run a mile on the boardwalk and now has blisters on her feet. Damn it!

My parents left Wednesday evening. It was so nice to have them here. I LOVE watching them play with Noah. It makes me so sad that they live so far away and don’t get to see him or play with him that often. I often forget how nice it is to have family close by until they visit. I wish they were a shortish drive away, not a plane ride away.
Sigh.

addymac Aw! Completely sympathize with far away parents. Mine are also a plane ride away and only see the boys once or twice a year. I always imagined having very close grandparents so it sucks. That's great they could visit though.

My parents are 2.5 hours away which isn't bad but I wish they were closer. I see pictures of them doing stuff with my cousins kids and it makes me sad. They also babysit them 2 days a week.

Today I noticed 2 top middle teeth starting to poke through DDs gums.. which explains all the biting and crying for the past two days.

Oh guys. I had a dr appt today so after night shift last night I slept a couple hours and then got up to go to my appt. After it was done I figured I’d stop at Whole Foods and target and get us some food and then I was walking out of target and saw the sbux. Got myself an ultra caramel frappachino and it was so delicious. I just sat there relaxing in my alone time while I ate a piece of coffee cake and drank my frapp so thankful my nanny told me to take my time at the store. It was seriously the only me time I’ve had in idk how long and was so nice. Also now I want MOAR caramel frapps. Moar moar moarrrr

As in they know our names, our drinks, our lives. They closed May 18 because school is out and don't reopen until June 18. I'm having serious withdrawl. It's one place j feels comfortable and will just sit and let the staff talk to him and he just chills. Also, that caramel frapp is delish! I'm also glad u got some time to yourself.

You guys might laugh but my favorite alone time during the week is Thursday from 1245 to 1. Everyone leaves the teachers lunch room and I have 15 minutes of blissful silence. I often take my shoes off, prop up my feet, and either read the newspaper, just sit, or play on my phone.
