Omg dizzycooks. I’m so sorry about your ILs. It would be so hard to feel like you have to entertain them on such short notice. Especially when you’re trying to get ready to go out of town. I would definitely be upset about that.

clementine that is the exact schedule I had when I went back to work after my DD. Nurse once in the morning, pumped 3x at work, nursed as soon as we got home, and nursed at bedtime. My dd was STTN so I woke up to pump 1x MOTN. We nursed until 15m😊

I’m watching second hand baby jogger prams because I cannot even with my pram at the moment. It’s a Phil and Teds and was great for DS1 but I have realised that there will be a period where DS2 cannot sit in it in any of its configurations since he’s set to outgrow the bucket seat way earlier than DS1 did. It’s also heavy and annoying. I love that it’s all terrain but I need an option that fits both kids in. There was a baby jogger city select double on Craigslist for $300 for awhile that I kept looking at and now it’s gone and I’m kicking myself.

I cut down to two pumping sessions around 7mos, then 1 at 10mos, then quit at 12mos. We nurses until I weaned her at 15 mos as a desperate attempt to get her to STTN. Spoiler: it didn’t work.

Because it is so available though no one over indulges. You just have to be willing to live in one of the highest COL cities in Canada.

I was up all night with baby. He's super congested and didn't sleep well at all. I sat up most of the night holding him upright so he could breath and sleep. He didn't eat much either. Poor thing. I wish there was more I could do to give him relief. Wish I could just sit and snuggle him all day.

I have a family wedding to attend at the end of June and I have literally ordered 5 dresses in multiple sizes in attempt to find something flattering and nursing friendly for this mom bod. It is impossible. I'm super petite but have huge boobs and a 2nd tri belly. Ugh. Anyone want to be my personal shopper to find a magical unicorn dress that will make me look good?

mattsgirl2004 , have you tried saline drops in his nose to try to help relieve the congestion? They are lifesavers for us.

Ugggh. A few weeks ago DH looked at his schedule and said he actually had three night off! So we decided to go camping, leave this afternoon as soon as I was done working. So I've spent all spare time this week getting ready for that. Groceries, digging out all our gear, restocking and organizing. Last night when he woke up to go to work he went online and rechecked his schedule and apparently when he printed it out the last day of May hadn't been scheduled yet and he has to work tonite after all. 😢 A-he didn't get three nights off this whole month and B-totally ruins our camping plans. We will still go for just one night I guess but once we drive 3 hrs up there and back it doesn't leave us much time to do anything besides setting up, cooking, and breaking down.

Dropped DD off at preschool this morning. I found out that there’s been a confirmed case of lice. I just bought a lice comb and I’ll check her when she gets home. Fingers crossed that she doesn’t have them. It makes my head itchy just thinking about it. I’m really hoping since she only goes twice a week that she didn’t get it.

dizzycooks omg that’s insane. I’m sorry - that is not very considerate of your ILs especially with you going out of town soon. stardust84, that is so inconsiderate and I’d be pissed too. Your work stuff is yours even if you aren’t currently there. alwayscheese I’m sorry about the disrupted plans. That sucks when you’ve been looking forward to something. Hopefully you can still go and have a good time! auri, yikes! Hope you guys stay lice free!

So yesterday was a terrible travel experience. After seeming to be better for the two days before we traveled, DS1 has a terrible day yesterday. He had a really high fever and seemed lethargic. Meds help for a bit but he also couldn’t eat anything without feeling sick. And of course we flew from CA to FL so it was a LONG day. Still has a fever today but at least he’s asking to eat again. I’m still naively hoping DS2 is spared. Fun way to start our vacation. 😧
Silly question - what is everyone’s experience with kids and eye color? I’ve heard that infant’s eyes typically change to their permanent color by 6-9 months but they could change as late as 3. DS1 has steel grey eyes up until around 18 months and now they are grey with some brown flecks in the center. DS2’s eyes started dark blue and seem to be lightening. I’m wondering if that means they will stay blue or any chance they will turn brown (he’s almost 3 months). Yes I’m insane and care about this (I have brown eyes and just assumed my kids would too).

I haven’t tried it myself but a mom from my other bmb told us about this one. Said it was very forgiving and has the wrap top for easy access. m.6pm.com/p/kut-from-the-kloth-lila-navy-pink/product/8719343/color/18640

Could congestion, cough, or stuffy nose cause L to be spitting up more than normal? He’s spit up maybe 5 times since he’s been born (don’t hate me), but he spit up once MOTN the other night and then just now after I nursed at lunch. I can’t think of anything else that’s changed in the last week besides him maybe coming down with a little bug. I’m really hoping this doesn’t turn out to be a regular thing.

I don’t know if there’s anything that can be done for a broken toe though. Hope it feels better! It might be? For sure it hit the nail which is swelling up and causing most of the pain. Might lose it at some point. And ya with broken you just tape it to another toe and try not to hit it too many times. ... not that I’ve broken toes before.

My only thought on this is that maybe mucus from his nose is draining and causing a bit of a gag reflex?

Ouch whatsit! I hope it doesn’t take too long to heal sunshinedaisies I hope your older kid feels better soon. It’s miserable vacationing with a sick kid. As to your eye color question...I don’t remember how old DD was when her eye color set, but her eyes are hazel. It’s possible the baby might keep the blue eyes if they are lightening, but it’s also possible they could still turn a light brown or hazel too.

sunshinedaisies DD1 barely had blue eyes at birth. They were a very dark murky blue and became light brown. DD2 is only a few weeks old but her eyes are a very bright clear blue. I’m very interested to see if they stay that way.

sunshinedaisies my eyes changed from blue to hazel when I was three. Both of my parents have brown eyes and both my girls’ eyes changed to dark brown really quickly. Genetics are weird. I’m a little sad that neither DD looks a thing like me. They’re both super tall and lanky and I am the literal opposite 😂

My middle didn’t even make it out of the hospital before her eyes turned brown. My oldest is almost 7 and has light brown, leaning towards hazel eyes, and his changes fairly quickly, too. So far, A2’s are still the newborn-y blue grey. I’m really hoping she ends up with blue, but I’m not getting my hopes up too high.
My brother will be 25 in July & his eyes still change. They switch between brown, green & hazel regularly. He’s basically a X-Men.

I think we might have dodged the bullet with the lice. The director told me this afternoon that the kid came in on Monday and he’s not in DD class. I checked her anyway and didn’t see anything. Guess I don’t have to burn my house down after all.
