I would do another stim cycle, bonzo. Does your RE plan on switching protocols to see if you could get a better response? I still don't have my results, specter! It's been a long five days. I'm hoping to hear get my results Monday. FX your AMH comes back ok and you don't have to wait too long to proceed. lemonliz, I am in the get all the eggs out camp too! DH is a little more hesitant since it's $5-6000 for a FET or $15,000+ to stim again. We just paid almost that much in November plus two FET attempts and our FET in May. I know you know the struggle all too well! I mean, we will definitely stim again if my AMH is lower but it'd be nice to not spend more than we need to.

babyhopes, I'm in the OAD camp now (after all this mess) but I would definitely be firmly in the "get all the eggs now!" camp if I were younger and wanted more than 1! But I totally get the struggle. And that's total bullshit that you paid that much for a bunch of failed FET attempts. The financial end of it makes me so angry!

Thanks everyone for your insight! I feel like H and I are both leaning towards doing another stim cycle now, but emotionally I think I stupidly got attached to the idea of maybe, finally, being pregnant this fall with our planned FET schedule. So that's my only real hang up, but logically I think I need to move past it. dp21, we know we want 2 kids, so that's a really good point. It's sometimes hard to think that far ahead when I don't even have 1, but you're right, my eggs at 29 are better than they will be later! babyhopes, when I talked to my nurse yesterday she did say we'd meet with the RE to discuss the protocol. I don't know what his thoughts are now, but I know we'd have a chance to talk about what worked and what could be better. I know for a fact they want to try a different down-reg, even if it's just the Nuvaring instead of BCP, because of the cyst I had this time.

specter, whoa CD48?! That's crazy. Hormones are nuts like that. When do you get the b/w back?

bonzo, I replied over on the IVF thread but I would also cycle again! I think there's a reason it's recommended by lots of clinics. It has the best chance for success. What's to say you couldn't still be pregnant this fall!

Sorry guys, I had a crazy week.
We ended up canceling. At first monitoring I had a 17mm follie ready to trigger. I still had others but we decided to just let this ride and start over again from scratch the very next cycle. It is what it is! I'm not too upset about it.

lemonliz, Sorry about having to cancel, but best not to use up insurance until things are perfect. AFM, my next monitoring appointment is tomorrow. Follies were still pretty small on Friday.

So I asked my nurse for an estimated calendar for cycling again, and she's thinking the RE would have me stim early September for a late September retrieval. I was kind of hoping we could get the cycle in before the semester started (end of August). I'm mostly concerned about lifting/twisting with the painting class I'm teaching, since I have to do a reasonable amount of prep work for it. I felt so lousy on stims. And I'm hesitant to put myself in a position where I know I'll need a sub during my first semester.
Ugh. I feel so indecisive! What's probably right for my body doesn't feel right for my job, and it's driving me crazy.

bonzo I'm sorry you're having to make such tough decisions. Maybe you should go ahead with FET. You have valid reason and good arguments for either option you choose. The "what ifs" always make me second guess hard decisions. Hugs. I hope you and YH can come to a decision and both have peace with it.

And they can happen either direction we take. I'm glad that we have until Wednesday before I talk to my nurse again, so we have time to really think and talk it over. There is so much to weigh, and none of it seems cut and dry. And again, thanks to everyone for your input! It is helpful to hear the opinions of others in the same boat.

lemonliz sorry you got cancelled, hopefully this next cycle goes better. bonzo I hate all the different things that are factored into IF when making decisions. I hope you can up with the best plan that works for you and your husband, and that works with your job responsibilities. Do you think if you told them you would like to cycle in August they could get you o. The schedule? DH and I were just planning on doing the one cycle due to finances, then I got an 18 month interest free credit card offer in the mail yesterday. I usually throw them away but kept this one as a "just in case" things change in the next week.
