I totally did not realize there's a planner board. Now I really feel bad about neglecting my planner this week.

I totally did not realize there's a planner board. I blame Tapatalk. It's cumbersome to pull up the full list of boards and sub boards. I really should explore it more often. Or visit the forum on a computer more often.

Thanks. I forget to come over here. I shared the spreads I’ve been doing in the UO yesterday, but I’ll share again. I’ve found that simple threads have been working for me lately, so I have this written out through most of June. I also did this, because SO needs visuals and will not look at his phone. It’s huge and obnoxious, but it’s been effective thus far. Bonus, I write things down twice, so I’ve been remembering more things and not having to check.

McBenny , speaking of family planners...do you use a chore chart with your kids? Yes! It's more of a list of chores and how much you can earn if you do it.
Last year it was on paper. This year I am trying to go to poster board.
So, things like their room, their laundry, pet care are given and things you are responsible for as a member of the home. You don't get paid and can lose privileges if it isn't done. Right now they clean their rooms every week this includes dusting, vacuuming and they do their laundry. Deadline is Sunday evening.
things that help mom or dad you can get paid for. Things like vacuum the stairs, my laundry, dishes etc.
So we sit down and talk about them and negotiate the prices.
If you work more, you earn more. If you don't do anything then you earn nothing. This is important in that during the summer they want ice cream trips, ice cream man passes by, snowballs, etc.
Or if we go somewhere, you don't have money to spend. If we are going special or out of town you can earn double to money.
I don't know why I didn't think about it before but my house was so clean last summer.

This is almost exactly what we have informally. The big one has to clean her room, the little gets a little more leeway. They also have to clean up after themselves, feed the pets, load their dishes in the dishwasher, etc without getting any sort of extra. That's just part of living in this house. But when they do extras they are eligible for a reward--like usually it's one of them wants an ipad game and in order to get me to spend 2.99 you have to do a list of chores or complete an extra chore for a week or something along those lines. I want to make this more formal and I also want to incorporate it with the expected daily self care and adaptive skills they need to do--clothes on, teeth brushed, shoes, backpacks packed, etc. But you are right, it is amazing how much a difference it makes when they do simple things on their own like put their dirty clothes in the hamper.

This lady I watch on youtube has 5 kids and she has a clipboard and it has the daily expected stuff on there. I am thinking I might definitely use that during the next school year for the evening stuff especially.
there is a lot I expect them to have done because I get home so late. I should just be helping you with homework you were struggling with. I should not have to tell you to get in the shower.
Back to this lady she puts things on there that she feels they can be self sufficient about like getting dressed, clothes in hamper etc. I am thinking of making a list like that for them as well and then the chore list on poster board.
I also tell my kids that if they don't help around the house then we can't bring them to where they want to go because we have to stay home more to get chores done. That too seems to drive them.

I have also seen where someone wrote chores on wooden clothes pins and that way the child can take the clips and put it on their name if they did it or go the other way and clip the chores you want that child to do and then when done they put them on a done section.

I love the clipboard idea. I could laminate a chore list and then use dry erase markers so the kids could check off their lists and then reuse them day after day. My kids, especially K, struggle with adaptive skills. Things that I feel like she is old enough to manage without reminders, so doesn't do. Like consistent teeth brushing, bathing, etc. It's only getting more complicated as she gets older and we are introducing additional self care tasks like putting on a bra or using deodorant. I feel like a consistent visual aid would be helpful.

DH is clueless about his phone somehow.

It’s just basic 7 days with a basic schedule or appointments highlighted, a notes section, a meal plan box and under work days I have three bullets to designate important tasks for the day (these sometimes turn into more).
