Really good thread on the missing kids. They aren't actually missing. They've been placed with family or people they have a relationship with that don't want to pick up the phone when they check on the kids because they are likely undocumented. This is reassuring and makes sense. We need to make sure to separate the issues of ICE taking children from parents and the unaccomoabief children that are no longer in the direct care of ORR.

I really hope this is true. But If it is true that these kids are with relatives and aren’t missing, why are so many reputable people getting behind the where are the children movement? Is it a rumor that became fact? Or are Democrats getting behind it to highlight Cheeto’s policy of separating children and parents as a deterrent to coming here illegally?

I have a feeling people are just mixing up the two stories, especially not knowing how the system actually works. Children ARE being separated from their parents, and children ARE "missing", but they aren't the same children. As she mentions in the comments many times, I don't think people are reading things very well, if at all, and getting caught up in the hysteria.
