I’m sorry quijibo. I wish health care didn’t cost an arm and a leg here.

Had my ultrasound today. Baby had the hiccups and it was cute to watch. I left and got the call about my panorama results this afternoon. Baby is healthy and a boy! I was right!

I have the biggest pan of Mac 'n cheese in the oven and can't wait for it to be done. My OB told me today to try and incorporate more protein into my diet to try and level out my blood sugar and help with the light-headedness I get sometimes... so I guess it's good cheese is a source of protein?

Trying to decide if we’ll do genetic screening and the nt scan. I’m currently paying off a $2,000 medical bill AND haven’t met my deductible yet. $800 was just added on for the two ultrasounds and blood work. I cried at my desk because DAMNIT AMERICA, you suck. If your plan year is calendar (Jan-Dec), then you're going to meet your deductible no matter what with the cost of the birth. So even if you're paying more of it now, you'll pay less for your later care/birth because of meeting your deductible sooner. Plans vary, but mine is a 6000 deductible and last time, whatever costs I had racked up prior to the birth lowered what the birth ended up costing in the end. This is what my H said. If we’re gonna end up paying it anyway, why not just go forth and do all the things. I’m calling tomorrow to get scheduled.

So, we had our first parent/teacher conference today, and besides basically being amazing in general, DS' teachers showed us a picture he made of his family, and it showed mommy, daddy, W, Jilly (the dog), and baby. My heart melted. They also said he talks about baby in school and seems excited, which I'm so glad about. I know there will be bumps ahead in incorporating another person into our family, but I'm glad he's excited right now at least!

quijibo I freaking hate insurance and medical care stuff in this country. I hate that you even have to factor in finances when trying to make medical decisions.

I had an appointment and it was wonderfully uneventful. A quick listen with the Doppler and that was that.
My next appt is in a month and it’s the anatomy scan! This pregnancy is flying by.

They need to teach a class in school about understanding insurance. I have no clue what any of it means. And I only have one choice if I take the insurance offered at work. When people talk about insurance it’s like they are speaking a different language. I have tried to google it to understand it and it goes straight over my head.

Does anyone feel like they’re being smothered by their boobs? I feel like when I’m wearing my bra they’re right in my face 😂😂😂 I wish I didn’t have to wear a bra all day at work.

I felt like this all day today. I kept seeing something protruding at the bottom of my field of vision. Oh, it’s just my boobs.

quijibo I’m so sorry you are dealing with this.. we’ve had some similar things happen which was completely unexpected, and then we had to switch insurance so it doesn’t go to the deductible at all. Money is stressful and stupid while pregnant. Thanks America I guess. I hope things even out soon <3

Is there a link somewhere for a roster? I feel like someone said we had one before, but we needed to go input our info.

Hey all. I'm going to intro in here! I've been locked out of my account since August, so I've been lurking & finally was able to reset it! 15 weeks today (due 11/14). We did the SneakPeak blood test which said we're having a girl. Waiting on the anatomy scan to confirm that. I have a 3 year old DS already so I'm really hoping it is correct and we're having a girl!

I told my husband after this kid is born, we're doing all the doctor things we need to since the deductible will already be met. I wish the first and second tri ultrasounds and tests would count toward the deductible though! At least we have an HSA so it's not quite as painful to pay the bills, and the prenatal care is billed as part of the birth cost so it goes toward the deductible.

I've been super lucky & both u/s I've had were covered and my first tri bloodwork that was with my NT scan was only $54! But yeah I'll at least have two years of hitting my deductible, so whatever I guess lol

Got my n/t scheduled for June 5! My H talked me off the ledge last night and we’re looking into various ways to pay off the medical bill(s). We’re not necessarily poor, but we certainly can’t just fork over $2,000+. I wish.
Will pick up the scripts for blood work during my lunch break. My insurance prefers I don’t go to the hospital lab, so I need to get the physical scripts. Blargh. I should have told them to fax to my work, buuuuut, don’t really want to guard the fax machine so that no one reads what comes through. We haven’t fully announced yet. It’s apparently 8 orders of blood work. Yikes. 😳

Does anyone have a good non-dairy protein powder or drink they like? I'm having a really hard time getting enough protein in during the day, and it's making my nausea worse. :/

I got so hungry after being at work for an hour, that I took a little trip to the small grocery store down the street...I may have gotten a little carried away...
