We got to the hospital around 5:30 and started the check-in process for my RCS/possible induction. During the almost 2 hours I was hooked up I had two tiny contractions so we went RCS route.
I was fine until they started then I got nauseous. My BP skyrocketed from everything happening and my brain felt like it was trying to escape. When H came into the OR I was crying in pain and could see and feel every heartbeat. After a few minutes the meds got evened out and I was fine.
Ly.dia Le.e came out screaming and kept screaming until they brought her to me. She was 7lbs even and 19 3/4 inches which is over 2 pounds and 3 inches smaller than her brother!
Fun part of delivery! I got wheeled into recovery and was just getting to hold L. H looked at me and said he was really nauseous. One nurse ran to get him water and the other caught him before he passed out and got him into a chair. H then went rigid and there were 5 nurses around him. The episode lasted about a minute and a half. They got him conscious then put him on a stretcher next to me. He ate some crackers, drank some juice, then went to the ER. He is fine and they think it was a residual stress event. He is embarrassed and feels guilty about it but I'm just glad he is okay and it happened here.
L is either content while nursing/sleeping or screaming at this point. Her latch is great and she's spent more than half her life nursing so far. Big brother met her and was pretty interested in shoving her pacifier into her unwilling mouth. I've already had my IV removed, get to eat regular food and am sitting in the recliner. Aside from H's issue, it's been a good first day!
