Add C to the lost of kids struggling lately. He's been really challenging the past few weeks, I thought it was because of A. I can't stand the whining and tantrums! I just bought a reward/behavior/chore chart thing that I'm loving. Though it's also annoying when every 2 seconds he says things like, "L touched my arm and I didn't whine so I get to add a star!" Not quite how it works, C. Which chart did you get, I’ve been thinking about one for B

Welp the saga continues...
So the tile guy showed up about 8:30 this morning, took a 30 minute break around 11:15 and left at 2:00. TWO. I think he fucked something up and was frustrated and needed a break, but to leave for the day, at 2? I don't think there is anyway he can get it done tomorrow. I talked to H, who is on his way home and gets to deal with this shit tomorrow, then stopped by the local Home Depot. I told them what all is left, about 3 rows of tile need placed in the master, grout on all three bathrooms, backsplace removal and replace. I do not think it's possible for him to do it all tomorrow, not with the hours he works. I told H when he leaves tomorrow, he needs to take all his tools, regardless of how far he is. He will not be allowed to come back and finish and I told Home Depot that I expect reimbursement for the labor if he doesn't complete it. They agreed. H said if he doesn't finish the floors, we're not letting any other of their contractors in to do work and cancelling the rest of the work and asking them to credit our account. Including carpet.
The contractor assured the Home Depot store manager that the tile guy would finish tomorrow. Guess we will see.

There are so many choices of things to put on it and I love how it's a big magnet so it can just be stuck on the fridge. I actually ordered a second one for L. ETA: guess it'd be helpful if I actually showed you which one it is Rewards Chore Chart for Kids - 49 Responsibility and Behavior Chores - Ultra Thick Magnetic Board www.amazon.com/dp/B01MRLINN5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_xkl9AbPEQYBQ7

mwhip that's ridiculous. I hope you are documenting all this so you can go back to Home Depot and maybe get some money back.

Home Depot and their contractor are well aware that we are cancelling everything if stuff isn't complete tomorrow. H said he's kicking him out by 5 tomorrow, regardless.
H is also a big talker but doesn't do the complaining, I do. So it will be interesting to see how his day goes tomorrow, with 2 sub contractors here.

joelies , sorry things are tough right now. Where is your conference next week? Is it somewhere nice and can you spend some time relaxing? It's in Boston and I'm speaking and hosting clients, so it's sure to be exhausting. The only positive is that we're so overbooked that internally-facing staff (which I technically am now) have been asked to eat and attend general sessions in satellite locations to give our clients priority seating. I have no issues speaking at these things but I HATE the schmoozing, so this is a huge relief for me.

Just coming back after my PNR this morning. Seminar took a while and then I got my nails done afterwards. I got my goodies that the kids made at school (since they’ll be home w my ILs tmrw, the teachers gave me my stuff today). I love the kids Mother’s Day crafts- so cute.
Now I’m home and have a T-shirt and yoga pants on. I don’t feel like doing anything so will prolly order takeout for dinner.
Off to catch up on the thread.

We just had a company come out to estimate for a new fence. It was $13k!! Double what another company estimated in November. I want to get one more quote since head are so far off but good lord! It’s a 3800 sq foot lot so it’s not huge. I was expecting $5k.

I need your guys opinion!!! This paragraph was in our Power of Attorney form. It’s referring to real estate transactions. Do you guys interpret is as ONLY in the state of Indiana? Or Indiana and other places. It’s not relevant because we removed it since we couldn’t agree but now it’s just about who wins the argument on what it means lol.

wedding I hope the other estimate is better! That does seem high. Our lot was 15,000+ sq feet, with a very large backyard, and we were looking at $10-15K (we ended up not doing b/c we knew we wouldn't recoup the money when we sold). We were looking at the black aluminum kind, though, so not sure how much that varies from wood or vinyl. COL plays a part, too, I'm sure. lahdeedah so sorry to hear about your colleague, I remember your mentioning that. I'm glad your work let y'all out to pay your respects.

The beach was so nice! B did not want to leave, despite his blue lips and convulsive shivers. C, clearly the smart one, just stayed in the sand and was perfectly happy playing with the beach toys and occasionally dipping her toes in.
I think we might go back tomorrow once DH gets home from work.

sands42 It includes the wording in real property whatsoever, so it could be anywhere. Both of my attorneys agreed. They also said you could ask 50 different judges/attorneys and they would all interpret it differently. Story of my life with this firm...

I also asked my uncle who is a lawyer but he hasn't practiced in like 20 years. He said the same thing. But, we took it out because the wording was confusing.

You could have left it in and just marked out the part about Indiana and both of you initial it.

S had a seizure while playing outside at day care today. She locked up and went straight back on the concrete without bending her legs and hit her head. She’s got a huge goose egg on the back of her head. They said it was almost a full minute of her not responding (because of seizure) and then she came out of it and started crying. My H (who is an EMT as part of his job) checked her over but said she should be fine. But we are keeping an eye on her. She had a popcicle and seems to be doing better. The teachers said it took 10 years off their lives though.

Oh my goodness, poor S! lfig Happily, she looks none the worse for wear with her popsicle, but that must have been so scary for all involved. Glad she seems to be OK despite the goose egg. A friend of mine in high school had epilepsy and I witnessed a seizure once (found her in an elevator, actually). That's my only experience with it, but It was scary. I imagine it's much worse seeing a child experience it, no matter how 'used to it' you get :/ On an unrelated note, what is that magical looking contraption she's got on her popsicle? I have never seen that before. Does it catch the drips, I assume?

How terrifying lfig! Glad she is ok! vino we bought the same chart as wineallthetime when we potty trained, and I liked it for the same reason she said - so many different options. I’m thinking it might be time to break it out again Just be careful, I put it away bc B liked to try to eat the tiny magnetic starts. I’d have to figure out a way to keep him away from it.

@flamngo yes, it catches the drippings of the popsicle! I don’t know what it’s called. I bought off Zulily about a month ago.
