We’ve gone thru s ‘disgusting’ phase too...I think we’re mostly past it, tho. No comments on what I wear, but the other day B kind of confidentially told me I should put some lipstick on so I don’t scare anyone 😂😂 it’s my own fault bc I always stop to put some on before getting out of the car and I’ll say something to that effect—apparently he’s listening! Ded.

Anybody else's kid kind of off? Josie is waking up much earlier than usual, any little thing sets her off, and we're having such control issues (I wanted to fold the clothes! After I had already finished folding them, and had no idea she wanted to help with that task ... cue meltdown!!) but it's over everything and 55 times a day. Yes. Just... yes. Also, he literally FLIPS OUT if MH tries to do any of his regular tasks (ie put toothpaste on his toothbrush, go in there in the AM to help get him dressed, etc). He only wants me. Which is super fun for me. And MH gets his feelings hurt by it. I think @mwhipz onto something with the idea of independence, but ours came on in such a sharp contrast and so quickly that it doesn't feel entirely right to me.

Dude has been especially fragile lately. Could we count "bursting into tears b/c C wouldn't give him a spitty cheerio" as 'especially fragile'? B/c if yes, then my kid, too. He's still got this cold, though, so I think that is contributing to his emotions being closer to the surface more than anything.

We're going on the second week. The same thing happened last year at this time. It was about five weeks of pure torture for all of us. Emotions are so out of control that I know she was struggling, too. M flipped out yesterday because I turned right out of the daycare parking lot. Apparently she wanted to go left. UGH I get this one a lot. There are 2 different ways I can go home from DC, depending on traffic. It really makes no difference either way (I live 3 minutes away). But according to him, I always pick the wrong one.

jewels - You reminded me, "disgusting" is a new favorite word of Colin's. He seems to be trying it out on the most inane things, but it's actually oddly cute. We went through this phase awhile ago. Now both boys are obsessed with Toy Story so every time Dude gets upset he calls us cannibals or backstabbing murderers. It's hysterical. IT's pretty funny that he calls you cannibals. You know, since you don't even eat animal meat. Like, of all things to call you...

Did I tell y'all we're going to the beach as a compromise b/n the gardens and Funville? Any day I can avoid Funville is a win, so I'm happy.
However, I was thinking I could just let the kids play and I could wear shorts, but my friend is wearing a suit so now I feel like I need to struggle into one, too. I am ghastly pale and just feeling so blah, this is not going to be pretty.
I downloaded the BBG app on my phone, i need to actually start.

Yes, there is a touch of the independence thing in there for sure. But he's so mean sometimes to MH. I explain to him that his words can hurt daddy's feelings, but he still just wants me. I'm sure it's because I'm always there, and MH comes and goes. But still...

Yeah, MH won't even go in there in the morning anymore. He'll just call into S that I'm in the shower and when I get out he'll tell me S is waiting for me. This morning, S woke up right as I got out of the shower, so I went straight in there (in my bra and underwear and a towel around my head) and told him to go to the bathroom then come in our room (our standard morning routine). I ran in my room to remove the towel and brush my hair and MH walked in there to help him get toilet paper and he lost his mind. It took a solit 15 minutes for him to recover.

Yeah, I just opened up my dashboard and it asked if I wanted to track it. I said sure. Then it asks you the general questions, 1st day of last period, normal cycle length, etc. Now it's tracking it. Apparently, there are 8 days left before my fertile window. Bet you all wanted to know that. LOL Wow! After you log so many it will tell you if it affects your sleep, gives you headaches or cramps on particular days, etc. Kind of interesting.

This morning poor X freaked out about my sister holding Poppy. Like he thought she was taking the baby or something? She asked to hold her and as I handed her over he grabbed her clothes and started trying to pull her back towards my lap. He was shaking and crying and looked so panicked. Poor little sweetheart. Awww. M is like that about M2. A friend of mine came to watch his teeball game and after she was holding M2 while we walked to the car. M runs to her and starts asking to hold him and kind of starts to freak out. It was then that I realized he thought she was taking him home and I told him she wasn't. He calmed right down after he knew M2 was coming home with us.

Doctors appointment went well. She's already in position (which I know could change) so it could happen at any time. Stopped by some stores at work and picked up Carmel apples for the main teachers and cake pops for the rest. Also picked up my mom's Mother's Day gift and my nephews graduation gift. Just need to get a gift card from target and a graduation card and I'm done for the month of May.

Hi all! I’m currently trapped under a sleeping baby, per usual. She insists on sleeping on my chest for her afternoon nap, and while I love the cuddles I’m a little worried my brain is turning to mush because of all the crappy tv I’m watching!
This morning I went to yoga with a mom from Landon’s baseball team. She reached out to me and she seems cool, so I’m happy I went. And it felt really good to do yoga instead of my usual cardio/weights. I’ve been so focused on just losing the baby weight I forgot I love getting centered and focusing on my mental health with a good yoga class.
We have yet another game tonight, but it’s Rylands so hopefully it won’t be a late night. I have muffins with mom at Lucas’s school tomorrow and then I can’t wait for the weekend!

Add C to the lost of kids struggling lately. He's been really challenging the past few weeks, I thought it was because of A. I can't stand the whining and tantrums! I just bought a reward/behavior/chore chart thing that I'm loving. Though it's also annoying when every 2 seconds he says things like, "L touched my arm and I didn't whine so I get to add a star!" Not quite how it works, C.

Hi! Late to the party today. It's been a weird day. You all may not remember, but I mentioned our nurse was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer almost two years ago. She passed this weekend. She actually lived a lot longer than her doc originally gave her. The service and visitation was today, so we at work went in shifts to the visitation. After that we had a work provided lunch, so I'm just catching up. +1 to fragile 4yos. Every little thing is meltdown city. He asked me to clean his ears last night. I said ok and grabbed the qtips. Cue meltdown because he wanted to get the qtips. I put my qtips back. It helped the situation, but he still gave me the stink eye.

I’ve questioned myself a lot lately and what the heck i’m doing differently or wrong. It’s frustrating. I feel like we’ve tried so many different angles and and back and forth between trying to figure it out or just riding out the, hopefully short, phase.

sands42 Thank you! How's all the house stuff coming? It's finally moving along. Still supposed to close on the 15th. MH left today so we have to use a power of attorney so I can sign for him... we had to get a new one because our first only had one witness signature and they wouldn't accept it. So, I'm terrified they are going to say something is wrong with the new one. Then I don't know what we would do! I'm a worrier though so hopefully I'm over thinking it.
