Drama at Little League tonight...
Apparently our opponent's coach has quite the reputation, and she lived up to it tonight. Things culminated with her charging across the field from the outfield and entering our team's dugout to scream at the kids. At this point one of the parents got up from the stands and was like, "Ma'am, these are our kids, you need to get out of our dugout." My H said he overheard a couple people saying they were going to complain about her to the board.
I guess she missed the signs posted around the park (clearly aimed at parents) saying things like, "It's just a game, remember to have fun" and "They're not giving out college scholarships today" !
Meanwhile two houses down from us, an ambulance and firetruck showed up and took one of our elderly neighbors to the hospital tonight. He looked awake/alert as they were loading him into the ambulance, so I'm hopeful he's going to be alright.

She sounds unhinged, flamingo. Col's team only has one coach and the others have had 2 or 3, and they've all been great about guiding Col's team along. I can't even imagine any of them getting worked up at all, nevermind enough to scream at a bunch of little kids!

flamingo when I was in high school I umpire little league baseball and softball. There was a coach they crossed the lines with the kids and I kicked them out of he game. He looked like he was going to hit me. The other umpire agreed with me and we notified the league. He was told if it happened again he would end up being banned. So it's not crazy parents you have to worry about.

One of our coaches was familiar with her b/c he's coached in years past. I can't believe she's still around. The incident that precipitated her entering our dugout was apparently one of our kids was standing on the bench holding a bat. One of our coaches was just outside the dugout and told him to sit down/put the bat away, which he did. Then this woman comes charging in yelling about "I won't have this kind of nonsense!" My H said it was just nuts.

They don't even send umpires to our age group's games, b/c no one keeps score and they are usually so cordial...everyone helping everyone, one team's coach reminding the other team's players when/where to run, etc. Maybe they need to start sending umps just to this woman's games.

I felt like most games I had to say something to someone reminding them that there were no scouting agents at the game. One dad was angry. What was even funnier the kid didn't even want to play.

We went to an open house of a new rec centre they are building in my neighbourhood; it looks amazing and cannot wait. Three levels, 2 NHL sized ice rinks, 2 pools, child minding, indoor playground, fitness centre, outdoor fields, outdoor space for evening movies for the community and space for food trucks for events.
I’ve voiced my concerns about a the need for a Mothers Room throughout this whole process and yet again tonight I saw it wasn’t in the plans, so I found a couple people, chatted and I think sold it to them. The guy was funny ‘So if I google mothers room something should come up’ I lol’d and referenced the MLB putting them in stadiums.

Speaking of mothers rooms. So my original plan for work was to use Boss B's office to pump. She is now being moved to another building and will share an office with another manager. Her current office is going to a vendor. Now the nearest official mothers room is a jaunt across the property and up a flight of stairs (no elevator). Should I ask where I should pump now or should I wait... I really don't want to walk across the property in Aug/Sept when it's 100 degrees out but I will. I am also bummed because I planned on bringing my laptop to pump so I could multi task but none of the official mothers rooms have wifi or data ports.

chrisy01 I would wait; check out the possibilities for rooms a couple weeks before you go back.

I'm sorry about your grandma, guster. Is there any end in sight with your H's schedule? Does he stay busy during summer break? Thanks! Yes, everything will slow down by early June -- Josie graduates so no more insane rides back to ny for preschool, MH's classes stop June 11th, and most of the new house repairs will be finished. MH doesn't work over the summer so we'll both be able to feel that release we need.

guster and mwhip I meant to comment yesterday but the day got away from me. Renos and moving are so stressful. If often catches up with me right when I'm deep into it, and I'm already over it by then. Guster, I'm sorry about your grandma, glad the end of sone of the craziness is in sight. Mwhip, hang in there, you are going to have some beautiful new spaces in your home soon. Please share photos when you are done!

Thanks dapostrophe, I know it's going to be great when this week is over. It's hard when you're in the middle of the mess, to see the end.

What a maniac, flamingo. That woman needs to be far away from young children.
