I put the toys and sandy aftermath towels and shit in this mesh bag. linkIf I know I am going to be on the beach a lot and I have a toddler I would also bring one of those cheap inflatable pools too.

I've added so much beach stuff to my Amazon wishlist lol. Can anyone recommend a good beach cart? I have this one on the list, but if someone has something better and cheaper let me know! Where do I find this magic?? Amazon. It’s called sand free or something. I don’t have one, but I’ve seen them in action. They sell them and the towels at my CVS too but I live in a tourist area so idk if the beach stock there is standard. For the beach wagon, go with big, wide wheels. It makes it much easier to get across sand.

elodin, I have a similar one and it works well. It was a gift so idk the price but I think it was comparable. I’ve seen them in Costco too.

QUESTION:
If I'm going to the beach with my 6m old, do I *need* a pop-up tent or umbrella? We don't go often.

Baby wipes or hand wipes to wipe off your hands after applying sunscreen on your kids/self. (Although I imagine you'll already be bringing those with a newborn.)

you'll need some sort of water shoe or beach shoe in case the sand is hot. I like Natives for DS, they are rubber and can get wet and i can just hose them off to get the sand off after the beach.

Most years Costco sells a great half-tent thing for $40. It is very easy to set up/take down, has windows on the side, and offers a lot of shade to relax. link

I have this bag and can attest it is the best. We go to the beach maybe once a year, but I'm starting to realize I have a lot of beach stuff.

We take the Green Toys trucks with us. DS looooves using his trucks to help build sandcastles at the beach. We use them as our bath toys too. My favorite thing about them is that you can pop them apart and run them through the dishwasher.

Anyone have a beach wagon that works well? We’ve been using DD’s actual wagon till we bought a beach specific one. It doesn’t move well. There are a ton on amazon with so so reviews.

This Quest Outdoor Wagon was recommended by a mom on my BMB. It has pretty good reviews and was one of the cheaper ones I saw. I just ordered it, so I haven't used it yet myself.

Yes, I used to always bring a small inflatable pool and fill it for the kids to play in when they were babies and toddlers.

How big is this? Assuming it's the same size as the one I bought a couple of years ago, probably....3.5'-4' tall? And at least 5' wide at the base.

We live about 2 miles from the beach and usually walk with the stroller or ride bikes there. Our beaches aren't very wide, so a stroller is NBD.
I'm such a minimalist. *change of clothes, wipes, sunscreen, towels, toys (though not always, because they're happy with sticks and water) and SNACKS.*
When they were little I dragged along an umbrella or pop up tent, but I left the tent last summer when I could not for the fucking life of me bend it back into a circle while both kids screamed at me and a thunderstorm rolled in. We live that sun hat life now that they're 2.5 and 4.5. When you live so close, it doesn't have to be an all day affair. We usually go for about an hour, maybe two, and then roll home, so carting ALL THE THINGS isn't at all necessary.

I'm now really curious where OP is moving as I also live in a vacation beach town with a large corp that frequently brings people moving to it.
Anyway, I live a few blocks from the beach. If I can't fit it in my backpack and the stroller carriage, it ain't coming with. So, basically towels, sunscreen, small snacks, beverages, and simple beach toys.
Parking is a pain in the ass, and I'm frequently solo-parenting so traveling light is essential.
My kids are 15months, 4yrs, and 15yrs (though often away at her dad's). So the younger two really can only handle 3hrs max at the beach.

The state is *** DH will be working half days so my game plan is to bring the kids out and then have him pick us up on his way home so I don't have to deal with the toddler death march.

We are already back from out trip, but good to know! My ils bought a beach umbrella and even so, it was sort of overcast most of the time we were there which ended up being a blessing.
