PennyCandy I am glad you DS is OK. DD did that last year. I was behind her and saw her tumble. So scary.

Baby didn’t participate for her 3D scan we had today so no pics. I get to try again at my appt in 2 weeks but the anterior placenta is making getting pics hard. DD is still feverish and icky so relaxing at home the rest of the day. Bummer. I was going to do one but I think I'm skipping it because of anterior placenta. Ya that anterior placenta makes ultrasound photos tough!

Totally normal when you start limiting your carbs. I’ve lost a few lbs too. I was just going to say this. I would just track what your eating and maybe add another snack or two. I'm struggling on the snack front. I know I'm supposed to eat 3 meals, and one snack in between to keep my sugar stable, right? Besides raw veggies, I don't even know. I've been tracking my food just because I have to make sure I'm getting enough food. These food intolerances plus GD is kicking me down hard right now. And now I'm thinking garlic and/or onions is responsible for my continuing stomach issues, so I'm going to try to cut those out too. Sigh. This kid has so much sucking up to do once she's here.

Apples, popcorn, sunflower seeds, a half sandwich (assuming there is something bread-like that you can eat)? Sorry, that must suck having so many dietary limitations on top of gd. Make sure you eat something before bed too - that’s the most important snack to keep your blood sugar from getting too low.

I've got apples I've been eating with almond butter, walnuts, and dried beef sticks. Will pick up sunflower seeds. Can't eat corn based stuff. I saw a recipe for a bread with almond flour and flaxseed meal I might attempt, but I'm scared of bread substitutes haha. Thanks for the suggestions!

I think this baby put on some major weight this week. Her kicks and punches feel like she's performing aerobics in there and when I look down my stomach looks like it's going crazy!

It's awesome that my colace decided to work. But if it could have waited until morning that would have been nice too. Having a poop party at almost 11pm when I'd rather be sleeping is not fun.

Can't have grains (including corn), dairy, legumes, nightshades, cauliflower, celery, blackberries, sugar substitutes (including stevia). Possibly garlic and onion, but I'm really hoping not. Zucchini and blueberries are also on the suspect list. And I don't eat sweet potatoes, olives, or cucumbers/melons for taste reasons. Lol. I'm basically living off meat, leafy things, and air at this point. I'm so sick of water it's not even funny. I might willingly stab someone for a sweet tea right now.

I’ve been downing strawberry or cherry sparkling water, I think la croix use the ‘essence of fruits’ by super heating the fruit in the water...or something, but doesn’t list sugar or ‘natural flavors’ in the ingredients! Might help get the water in without going crazy. Good luck!

I was laying in bed and it felt like the baby turned his whole body over. Sideways or frontways, but it was the craziest feeling.

Remind me- is gluten an intolerance? If so, these cookies were amazing for me when I had GD. Pair with a protein (like string cheese). They gave them to me in the hospital when I was 33 weeks and I fell in love. Homefree Treats You Can Trust Gluten Free Mini Double Chocolate Chip Cookie, Single Serve bag, 0.95 Ounce (Pack of 10) www.amazon.com/dp/B00N4K7T0W/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_62U9Ab895ZT9QEdit- just saw you can’t do any grain. This won’t work. 😢

Woke up choking on stomach acid and coughed so hard I peed myself. It took pepcid, Omeprazole, and Reglan to keep it controlled with DS. I was hoping to avoid all of that this time.

Oh gosh, that can't be easy to try to manage, I'm sorry. Were they able to give you a meal plan that controls your GD but also maintains your calorie intake?

I have been downing unsweetened tea, but I’m not really a sweets person; also love hint water: non sparkling, no sugar or substitutes, just natural fruit flavoring. I had a recipe for chocolate chip cookies made with almond butter and honey that I made the last couple of pregnancies after I was GD. I’ll see if I can dig it up for you (assuming you can eat chocolate or some tasty substitute).

Pretty simple and quite tasty. Note that they are not LOW carb, but much better carbs for keeping your blood sugar from spiking. I also made small cookies so I could have a couple at a time for a snack. www.allrecipes.com/recipe/241434/paleo-chocolate-chip-cookies/

pickles, is there a flavor of La Croix you like? I tried one or two once, and all the memes were true. It tasted like fruit scented hairspray hahaha. westiemom, thanks for the rec anyways! cornflakegirl, my appt isn't for another week, ugh. So I'm just muddling along trying to do the best I can for now, and hoping I'm doing it right. I know I've had a few spikes over the last few days, so I'm trying to be as careful as I can, but without testing, I'm not really sure what else to do right now. I'm worried they're going to be like, just suck up the side effects from your intolerances and eat it anyways lol. tarheelmom, I'm only a sweets person when I'm pregnant haha. It's all I wanted with DD, and this pregnancy. But sweet tea is life. Aren't you from NC?????? Those cookies look good though. Simple Mills makes a chocolate chip cookie out of nut and seed flour that's also amazing, but pricey, so I'm going to try these.

I just assumed you had already met with them since you found out before me and my appointment is this Wednesday. Hopefully they give you lots of options to choose from. I know I'm having a difficult time just limiting my carbs and sweets, I can't imagine how hard it must be for you. How can you tell that you have had spikes without testing?

kaeguri, I’ve lived in NC since college, so more than half my life. But I grew up in upstate NY and never developed a taste for sweet tea. I do often get given the wrong kind at restaurants, but luckily my area has a lot of northern transplants, so unsweetened is always an option.

kaeguri I’ve moved on to the brand Bubbly, the strawberry and cherry are really flavorful and not as synthetic tasting but have ‘natural flavors’. I liked the grapefruit La Croix, and the pomegranate/lime(?) flavor.

catspajamas2 omg that's so sweet <3 Those smooshy lips! cornflakegirl, my mind gets really foggy/hazy, my limbs suddenly feel like they're made of lead and it's like this wall of fatigue just slams into me. Also, my vision gets slightly blurry and weird. Although it could be anxiety still. I don't know anymore lol. But I notice that happens if I go too long without eating, or I'm not eating enough. tarheelmom, back home in SC, when I worked at a restaurant, we'd always have unsweet tea just in case, but most nights, we barely would serve 1 or 2 glasses, while we'd go through 5-6 things of sweet tea lol. Zaxby's has the best sweet tea. I think it's the blue straw. Makes everything taste better. We need a Zaxby's out here now.

What carbs were you eating before that you cut out (not for sensitivity reasons)? Could you add some of those back, just space them out? I’m eating 150 carbs per day and have been getting some blood sugar readings close to 90 around 2hrs after eating. I start getting light headed if I don’t eat something at least every 3hrs. Zaxby’s sounds good, but there’s nothing on their menu I can eat right now. Luckily Chick-fil-a is next door and their chicken is much lower carb. No fries or sandwiches (or sweet tea!) allowed though . Bojangles is the worst about giving sweet tea all the time every time. It’s my DHs favorite (he grew up here), I guess it’s so good that I’m the only person who doesn’t order it, lol.

And I used to make these coconut and/or almond flour muffins with honey and veggies, used to eat at least one or two a day. I used to snack a lot more on fruit throughout the day mainly, things like dried mango and apricots and grapefruit. Past 2 days I struggled to get even 40g carbs in. Gah. I just need to meet with the specialist so they can tell me what on earth I'm supposed to be doing. Yeah it's probably a good thing there's no Zax here. Or Bojangles. God, earlier on in the year, all I wanted was boberry biscuit and their fries. And Groucho's. I don't know if there's a Groucho's near you (I think there's one in Raleigh?), but if there is, I don't like you lol. We haven't gone to chickfila in a bit, bc I have no self control when it comes to their waffle fries, and if H gets some, I will eat them. And he always gets a milkshake too. So we just don't go anymore hahaha.

Stick to <30 carbs in a sitting and you’ll be fine. Google is your friend, nothing is really off limits, you just may have to limit how much you have. At chick-fil-a I can get a 12 piece nuggets (14g carbs) and fruit cup (12g carbs). A plain sandwich, regular fry and large sweet tea are EACH over 40g carbs. You don’t want to know what a milkshake has 😱. I have never heard of Groucho’s but there is one about 40 minutes away. I’ll have to check it out after I can eat all the things again.

Well, I’m exhausted. Not because of anything physical but because my 3.5 year old is not listening to a thing DH or I say. We are at a loss. It’s to the point of tears and feeling like we aren’t cut out to be good parents. I’m gonna try to do more positive reinforcements tomorrow like sticker charts or something.
Sorry for the vent, it’s been a super stressful day.

PSA for anyone with back pain. I’ve been using a foam roller at my HIIT class, and felt some major relief so I went out and got one for home. It really helps release the pressure in the sacrum and pelvis. There’s a ton of YouTube videos on how to do it. I hope it helps everyone else like it helped me!

Happy Mother's Day, ladies!! Next year will be my first 'offical' Mother's Day, but I woke up to a card and little cookie cake from MH. Happy tears at 4am lol. I was touched. And now I know he doesn't read my posts on here because I posted yesterday that I was taking several days off treats. 😂 He's eating half of it for sure! I hope all of you have a special day! ❤
