I’m still in maternity yoga pants and nursing tanks. Nothing fits and I don’t even know how to begin to put an outfit together for this Mom bod I’m rocking.

Its too hot for leggings 😑 or else I’d be right there with you. The worst part is I just want to have a few glasses of wine while soaking in the tub all alone. And I currently can’t do any of that. DUMB BREASTFEEDING AND DUMB NEEDY BABIES AND DUMB SLOW RECOVERIES.

Thanks for the suggestion on the target shorts Leaf 🌱. I might have to go there and try some on. I’ve been wearing my maternity jeans still since I currently have a flabby belly from my csection and I can’t comfortably button my old pants. I really need new pants, but didn’t want to spend a lot of money on them. I’m not nursing, and haven’t done it...but can you put a nursing tank top underneath another shirt that may be less nursing friendly?

I have not found nursing bras I love. My regular bras in the size I bought for pregnancy are awesome and I've been converting them. Well I converted one; and just slip the strap off my shoulder with the others. They are pretty good considering that my boobs are a whole cup size different. 😳

I bought nursing bras from Target because that is what I used with D1 but they are not the most comfortable with the wire and I need the wire during the day for support. But they were cheap for me to try out. I have a Bravada sleeping nursing bra that I like but haven't bought one of their regular nursing bras.
I bought a size up of jeans to get me through and I'm wearing a tank top with t shirt over for coverage while I nurse. I fit in my pre-pregnancy pants but I don't like the way they look yet so I'm avoiding them for a while longer. The in between period is so hard.

Can someone explain to me what you wear over a nursing tank top? I EP'd with kid 1 and just wore my normal wireless bras and regular shirts that I would strip or pull up to pump, never in public.
I am able to BF this time around and have no idea how to dress myself. Zip up athleisure wear jackets don't always cut it for every occasion

Cooler weather- a light knit sweater (I tend to run hot) or a loose long sleeve top. I preferred the nursing camis that had supportive bra bits inside and just wore in place of a bra. I have a few ok nursing bras, not underwire though but pretty supportive. I tended to wear those more to work in the warmer months. Like this: www.brasnthings.com/body-bliss-maternity-wirefree-bra-dark-greyIt’s an Australian store though.

Add me to the what the fuck do I wear now club.
I’m about 10 kilos over my Pre pregnancy weight and I hate it. I think that’s around 20 pounds? Nothing fits. I feel self conscious and bla.
I’m living in yoga pants, black jersey joggers, ponte leggings and loose tops and cardigans.
The weight came off so much quicker with DS1. About this time with him I bought some jeans and pants a size up from normal and wore those. I assumed I’d just wear them again this time but no, they don’t do up yet.

I had to wear maternity jeans out last night and I cried. I was able to button my big girl pants, but it was not pretty. I have boarded some gift cards from Christmas and I need to really get out and buy some stuff.

My nephew is 3 weeks older than J and is napping for hours in his crib and only wakes once a night for 15 mins between 7-7, I’m not jealous..nope not at all. I was only up 4x between 10-7, and J only takes short naps on me.

Zip up athleisure wear jackets don't always cut it for every occasion I pretty much do the same thing as nevertoomanyshoes- nursing value with a loose tank or shirt over the top. Some people are more comfortable pulling their shirt down to nurse but I refer to pull the top shirt up and then unsnap the nursing cami and bra and pull them down. I drape the top shirt to cover as much boob as possible and I like that my back/stomach are still covered by the cami. I honestly think it’s less obvious/cumbersome than using a real nursing cover now that DD2 and I both are getting better at establishing a quick latch. If we still need a bit of privacy I just tuck her swaddle blanket into my bra straps and drape it around us.

I’m pretty much living in nursing tanks. I tried just nursing bras and a regular shirt but then I have to pull up the shirt to nurse and that exposes my stomach. Do not like. So I guess tanks are it for the time being. I’m trying to switch it up by either wearing something over the tanks or wearing shirts that button and/or sweaters. It’s still cool here - mid 60s - so that works for now. Not sure what to do once it gets really hot.
Pants are okay. I’m able to fit in a few pairs of my pre pregnancy jeans so that works for now until the rest fit. And yoga pants. So much those.
My main issue is what to wear to keep my back from killing me. My boobs are so huge right now that I’m in pain by the afternoon every day. I’ve been doubling up with nursing bras and tanks and that helps somewhat but isn’t very comfortable.

My husband is going to France for 8 days at the beginning of September. He wants to take DS (who turns 2 in July) with him... But I really don't think it's a good idea. It makes me nervous and I think MH is underestimating how much work it will be. The 9 hour flight alone will be hard. And L will still need an afternoon nap every day, and he's still in a crib at home and he'd have to sleep in a bed there, and they'll be dealing with jet lag... And I'll miss him and be worried the whole time!
I think it would be lovely for MH's family to see L. His parents have only seen him twice in his life. But I don't think I can agree to this. Is there anyone here who would think this is a good idea? Am I being too uptight?

mintyblueair that’s hard. I see where you’re coming from and I’d have a hard time being away from DS1 that long but it would be nice for him to spend time with YH’s family. Any chance you could all go?

sunshinedaisies pay careful attention to your posture while nursing. I got a back buddy pillow (Amazon has some of the colors for much much cheaper) and it helps a lot.

Any chance you could all go? We could all go... I have a phobia of flying that got so much worse when we took L there when he was 7 weeks. I was so convinced we were all going to die. I know that sounds so stupid and I need to get over it but it's a real fear for me now 😣 Other than that the only thing is that it's expensive. But we could definitely do it. I think that's actually a good idea and will give his family a chance to N, too. I just have to talk myself into it... I'll run it past MH and see what he thinks!

Would you be open to maybe taking a Xanax or something? If you go on a red eye, you might be able to just sleep and let YH manage the (hopefully sleeping) kids.

Dr. at the children’s hospital says the eyeball isn’t contagious. Now I have to visit my MIL today. I’m tired just thinking about it.

Too bad they couldn’t have waited to tell you guys that until tomorrow though. Could you just skip going and send your husband and the kids?

We’re trying to get our pool up and running...which we’ve been trying to do all week. We have learned some very valuable and costly lessons about not closing the pool down. Now we got everything working, we just need to work on getting it not green.

Yes, I'd definitely look into getting Xanax or something like it! And the flight is overnight, so I hope both kiddos would sleep for most of it. I talked about it with my husband and he was like, don't you remember how exhausted and miserable you were when we went with L? Lol. I get very easily overwhelmed when I'm tired so he's probably thinking I would ruin the trip.
