Another one with conflicting Mothers Day emotions here. My first pregnancy was a miscarriage diagnosed a couple days before Mothers day. My H has asked a few times what our plans are for Mothers day. He's trying to plan a trip to visit our moms. I'm over here like...that's cool and all, but I'm a mom too. He hasn't done anything ever, so I'm not expecting anything. I'm not happy about it, but gift giving is not his love language. I'm sorry. Hugs

So yesterday naps were crap but night time was better. Why can't we get both?

My mother's day request was a blender for green smoothies bc I'm really trying to lose weight and to not have to go to my in-laws' apartment. I feel like such a bad person saying that, but their apartment is like the collection of breakable trinkets all at child height, and the kids get cranky bc there's nothing to do there. So then I'm trying to get the three year old to stop loudly asking, "can we go home yet?"
Ds1 has the worst seasonal allergies. His beautiful smooth skin on his face is all red and bumpy and he has bumps in his elbows and behind his knees. I hate how the poor thing is itching and miserable. The pediatrician has him on Claritin during the day and Benadryl at night, daycare washes his hands and face when he comes in from playing, and I keep changing his sheets and bought an anti allergy pillow and bathe him every night. None of it is really helping. Oh, and I have like the one kid who Benadryl doesn't make sleepy!!
Sorry. I'm not as grumpy as I sound!

thinkchocolate05 I'm sorry about ds1 that sounds miserable. Having a child that deals with itchy red skin all the time I know it sucks. Also, benadryl never made me tired either lol.

kristyw sorry. My DH was like this after our first was born. I basically had to sit him down and say no, it’s my day too. I may have sounded selfish, but I was really upset. thinkchocolate05 aww poor little guy! Hopefully the medicine helps!

We leave for Punta Cana tomorrow and of course I am having mild panic attacks! I know I have everything, but I keep checking. I keep second guessing if I packed enough stuff for the baby and the toddler. Plus our car service is coming at 2am so I’m sure the boys will be lovely.

We seem to just be stuck with 2 wakeups now and I’m over it. Of course I realize it could be much worse but I can’t wait to actually have a full nights sleep again. SOMEDAY right? 🤣

He did two wake ups with feeding and 2 for just a paci. The paci ones were at 530/6 and he ate 5oz with each wake up. WTAF DUDE?! Why is he eating so much overnight again?! He needs to stop. I’m so bloody tired. These next couple weeks are going to be awful- my MIL is here today - Sunday so he’ll sleep in the closet in his pack n play 😂 so that will fuck everything up. Next week we are going to visit my bff for 5 days. And the week after my parents come for a week so back in the closet he goes. And dh is being a a loser lately. We have the monitor on HIS nightstand and he is still sleeping through the damn wake ups. Like how am I waking up and hearing him scream cry and you don’t even react?! And I know he’s not faking it bc every morning he’s like just wake me up! Or just wait til I wake up from the crying 😒 like I’m not your mother I’m not going to nag you to get up and feed your kid whose standing in his crib crying. Sorry for the complaining.

addymac, ugh I'm sorry for the impending doom of messing with his schedule and YH being an asshat. Mine sleeps through it all too, even the toddler MOTN shananigans so I feel your pain. @starzia, I snorted with the MIL comment!

J had quite the day. Dh had to be somewhere at 330 so he dropped him off at my school at 3. Dismissal is 3 to 330. The elementary school kids went niys over him! He handled it pretty well.
Then we had our mommy and me photo session at 5. I hope we got some good shots. I loved our outfits!
Also, I think J needs a haircut! Do I do it myself or how do I find someone that cuts baby hair???

Yay for a good day! Hah! My MIL keeps saying N needs a haircut. By his ears he has little wings bc the hair is so long it flails. I had thought about it but said “eh!” But now that she has mentioned it three times since she arrived yesterday... 🙄 I know some people will just cut it themselves (I’m debating) but lots take him to a child friendly salon and then they have them sit on your lap or in a cool chair that’s a car or something fun. 🤷🏻♀️

So N slept in his pnp in our closet last night. Set up his noise machine and the camera cuz even tho he’s closer I panic at not being able to see him. He woke up briefly at like 1/1:30. Dh said he’d take care of it so I passed back out. Then I woke up at 6 and everyone was asleep and N woke up at 6:15. Dh said that at 1 he cried for a few min but then fell back asleep without eating! He loves that damn closet!! So he slept 10-6 basically. Now he’s been napping since 8:40.
I’m going to keep my son in the actual closet forever.

IMO Don’t cut the baby hair! Let it be wild for as long as possible! Once you start cutting it you have to do it a lot... and getting a kid to sit still for scissors/clippers is not fun. (Unless your kid is super chill)

In good news, DD seems to be mostly fine with this cold (just a little runny nose now). She’s back to her one wake up to eat overnight.
DS, however, ughhhhhh. He’ll sleep through the night as a teenager I hope. At one point last night, I gave up and had him climb in the bed beside me. That worked for a bit until he fell out! I felt so bad.

I put R’s foot prints in my Mother’s Day journal this morning before work. I also tried her hand prints, but that didn’t really work.
T wanted to put her foot prints in. I was like, “girl yours are getting too big.” I showed her the past four years and I told her she could write her name this year. I said “daddy can write a note for you.” She said, “I’ll put I love you daddy.”

addymac, yay for sleep! And I agree pennylane, I don’t plan on cutting As hair for a couple years if I can get away with it.

Well, The sttn streak has ended. A woke up around 3:45am last night and I didn’t know what to do! lol I didn’t want to nurse him, because o worry he’d start getting up for that again. I did go in and pay his bum, but that made it a lot worse. He fell back asleep about 10 mins later tho.

Did the princess tea party at the carousel museum with T today. It’s was a good time with the two of us. R has been fussy, but I think it’s her top two teeth coming in that’s bothering her.

Happy mother’s day, ladies! You are all rocking it!
Question: what type of formula do you feed a 8/9mo?? I’m going to visit my friend this week and I’m not pumping enough so I need to stock up on some formula since I won’t be taking any frozen milk with me.

Happy Mothers Day! DH signed the card with Js handprint which was cool. addymac we use Similac sensitive because J had some reflux early on and it was gentle on his stomach.
