So we moved them outside, though they still haven’t figured out to go in the coop at night. We go out and close them in at night which is interesting when you forget a flashlight and it’s already dark. 😂😂 We haven’t planted our garden yet (way behind, I know) but they love running around and scratching through the dirt and weeds. We still need to finish trimming the coop and put a permanent roof on it (eventually it will be off the ground and the metal will fit the top better) and get a real door. Right now we screw a scrap of wood over the opening to keep them safe. We did just recently bring home another load of cow manure and they love picking and scratching through it as well. How’s everyone else’s chicks doing?

Hey ladies! So cute. They’ll figure out where to go at night soon enough.
No chicks for us this year, just our grown chickens. I’m still letting them roam the yard during the day and fencing them out of new planting areas in the garden, but soon I’ll have to keep them in the moving crate during most of the day. I caught one eating a totally green strawberry, so, they can’t be trusted 😂

We got them the weekend before Easter so I would say 6-7 weeks old. I’m not real sure how old they were when we got them.

Our meat birds are 3 weeks old now and they're HUGE. We are going to put the cornish crosses (white ones) out in the chicken tractor this weekend.

And our layers, also 3 weeks but much much smaller. They're so jumpy, even though we're in there talking to them and holding them once or twice a day.

We have one that will get out to come visit when she sees us in the yard. She’s really friendly and practically begs for you to pick her up and pet her. I can go to the gate and call her over to pick her up.
