Age: 14 months, 3 weeks (My big turns 5 next Friday and C turns 15 months next Thursday - let me cling to the weeks LOL) Milestones: More talking and he's finally used to wearing shoes all day. Challenges: He keeps biting and chewing on everything. He's gnawed the finish off his crib in places and he keeps biting my coffee table. Poor kid is teething something awful. Since last week he's cut another tooth. That's 3 in about 2 weeks. Funny/cute stories: Similar to enchanted's Little Miss, C cries every time J cries. She stubbed her toe and was upset about it and he lost his mind LOL He also fake-cries now and keeps one eye slightly open to watch you. He wants to know that you know he's crying. How are you? Pretty well. Work is back to normal, so that's good. Anything else? We have to transition C to another center and we haven't booked anything yet. I need him moved by early September, so I gotta get a move on. It's just such a PITA. QOTW: I remember holding him in the NICU when he was 6 days old and he smiled at me. The biggest, toothless grin. He smiled a lot that day and hasn't really stopped - he's a really happy baby. It was the best.

oldbaylover1024, when DS1 was that size, we'd call him the sympathy crier. Any child in a five-mile radius was upset, DS1 was there patting their backs and crying along.

Age: 3
Milestones: Nothing new this week.
Challenges: Potty training. You're all *shocked*, right?
Funny/cute stories: I had a cascara cold brew at Sbux today, and he wanted to try it. I let him take a little sip and asked him if he liked it. He said, "uhh... I like you like it?" Such a little diplomat. We also had to call H at work earlier this week because DS2 dreamed H stole his car seat. When DS2 woke up, he told me the dream and then said "I SO ANGRY NOW. We call him."
How are you? I whined in the school-aged thread, but it's not a great week. I'm okay though.
Anything else? Not today!
QOTW: He is SUCH a daddy's boy. When he was about eight months old, H returned from a short deployment, and I thought DS2 would be really upset, but nope. He was so thrilled. He kept yelling "daddad!" and patting H on the cheek for the entire first day, like he couldn't believe H was really back. H could barely put him down. My favorite picture of the two of them is from that day.

L is awake and needs someone to sit with her, although she doesn't require interaction. It's 2am. Gah.
Age: 2 3/4
Milestones: She's suddenly started showing do much more affection. She's flinging her arms around people's necks and kissing. It's lovely.
Challenges: Right now, sleep. Also H is away for the next three nights. I'm genuinely pleased that he's getting a much deserved break, and not looking forward to three solo bedtimes and mornings!
Funny/cute stories: When I said "I love you," at lunchtime, she responded, "I love you too." She had the same exchange with Daddy at bedtime. We both melted.
How are you? It's the beginning of crazy loss anniversary and birthday time. May 12th is the day we lost Gracie, and last year we had a surprise BFP for the twins. May 16th is the day I nearly died. 19th is H's fortieth. Then in June, my birthday is the 13th, L's is the fifteenth, and we lost the twins on the 26th. I love birthdays and I wish they weren't so surrounded by loss now.
Anything else?
QOTW: What is your favorite memory of your little one? The first time she smiled at me. I had such a difficult pregnancy and horrendous recovery. I was still dazed and barely functioning. Early infancy, when you only get negative feedback, is so hard. And then she smiled at me and I realised that I just had to keep putting one foot in front of the other and we would get there.

Age: 1 1/2 years old Milestones: almost a new word every day. She can repeat so many animal sounds Challenges: Sleep she will be up for about 2 hours or so from 12-2 Funny/cute stories: She now likes to turn in circle and giggles when she gets dizzy from it How are you? tired but good Anything else? not really QOTW: What is your favorite memory of your little one? This is so hard I don't know why. I think the first time I held her in the NICU it was a day and half after she was born. We did skin to skin, she was alive and so beautiful. That moment after all of the IF and losses felt so incredibly healing. Read more: howeverithappened.proboards.com/thread/15125/infant-toddler-preschooler-check-5#ixzz5EUZk8qJf

peaseblossom55 - Yes. That first skin-to-skin in the NICU was very profound for me, too. We held him for the first time when he was 4 days old and I just remember breathing with him and smelling him... I related to your QOTW response a lot {{hugs}}

Especially compared to now it's amazing she was ever that tiny.

Age: 8+ mo
Milestones: two more teeth! Cruising everywhere! STTN Last night- 11h straight!!!!
Challenges: lately it’s teething related / a cold made for a couple awful Nights of sleep.
Funny/cute stories: hah. So he basically self weaned from BFing about two weeks ago 😭 but one of my last attempts was as follows: He wakes up in the morning and he’s always ready to eat and it’s been the only time the last week he’ll BF bc he’s still groggy. So I offer him my boob and he swats it away. 😏 ok. Let him play for a bit and offer again. He gets into position to eat and I’m thinking SCORE! Put the nipple in position and he just grabs it with his grubby little hands and twists. Ouch! No! Eat! He takes it in his mouth and looks up at me. Direct eye contact. And then CHOMP! I yelped and he USED to be scared when I yelled and he bit but this time he just looks at me and smiles and then starts laughing. Little shit. Then I handed him the bottle and he took 6oz 😒
How are you? Okay. Tired. Sad that he self weaned but I can’t force him so it’s just me and my pump all day. He STTN for the first time like 11h straight last night. It was like wuuuuut?! I slept and it was absurd.
Anything else? It’s finally warmer here so spending time outside w him on the playground or going for walks by the lake has been really nice.
QOTW: What is your favorite memory of your little one? Oh gosh i honestly don’t know.
