I need to tell someone other than DH. I POAS this morning. I don't know why, I was so sure I was not pregnant. It was positive. So was the second one. I am trying to hold it together. I am so excited/scared I can barely get any work done this morning. Backstory, if you don't remember me: I started on the boards right around the time of the first migration, after almost a year of trying for our first. We had just started seeing an RE and had some initial tests done. I got pregnant my first cycle following my HSG and starting hypothyroid treatment. I had low progesterone levels and supplemented for the first trimester. My son was born in October 2015. This time around we had been trying almost 6 months and I am older (36) but we hadn't started with the RE just yet (mostly because insurance doesn't cover anything IF related). Also, apparently my offspring have a flair for the dramatic. Found out about first pregnancy on my 34th birthday. He showed up 10 days early on the 16th anniversary of my husband and I becoming a couple. Today is my 10th wedding anniversary. EDD is February 18 - I think s/he will probably hold off until Feb 21, my birthday Also, I think the pee stick may have overshadowed the Apple Watch I got my husband for our anniversary!

Welcome back, lady!
Will your old RE see you, by chance? Or are you going to have to journey through first tri like a regular pregnant?

Thanks, ketchup! I don't know. I am reluctant to contact my RE because I think anything he does will be out of pocket, so we may try to go the regular route. If I can handle it. I want to see how my OB handles the progesterone thing. She ordered the test for me today, and I got it done, but I don't know if she'll be as cautious with the outcome as I want to be, so if she doesn't think I need supplements and I do, I will call the RE. I don't know what a regular pregnancy is like, but my first u/s is scheduled for 8 weeks with my OB, which seems early to me. With #1, my first u/s was 7 weeks. Is this normal? I have a friend at work whose first u/s was her 20 week a/s.

I wonder if they'd bill it as OB/GYN (I know that is what my RE's office did once I got KU), but nevertheless I totally get your hesitation to reach out. I was more concerned about PAIF brain overwhelming you without the reassurance of the eleventy extra appointments in the beginning. Really glad to hear your OB is on top of the p4 stuff. I had an issue with progesterone with TT, and again with this LO, neither of which would have been caught had it not been for early b/w. Definitely ride her ass about having two draws to look at your numbers, and push for supps if they decrease (which is sounds like you already plan on doing). I've never done it like a regular pregnant, so I had u/s each week from 5-9, but that was with the RE. My OB doesn't see patients until after 10wks (idk how the fertiles do it), but I've definitely heard of some ladies having their appts at 8wks and they get their dating scans then, so sounds normal to me. Your work friend is the one out of the norm, fo' sho. I ... cannot imagine waiting 20wks. Nope, sir.

DrHooch, congrats! I'm glad you're staying on top of your OB on the progesterone issue. I had to supp all of first trimester. Also, yes that is normal. I was a regular pregnant once way back when and I had my first u/s at 7 weeks which they mainly do for dating/confirmation. Waiting until 20 weeks is insanity.

Congrats! I'm a normal pregnant this time around and would have had to wait until 8-10 weeks to have my first ultrasound had it not been for a bleeding/spotting scare. Even then I had the one around 6-7ish weeks to make sure everything looked ok and then didn't have another until my NST around 12 weeks.

Congratulations!
This time around I'm a regular pregnant person. I ended up getting them to set up an US for me early, around 5 weeks, because I thought I was farther along than I actually was. I also had one at 7 weeks because there was not HB at the first one. Way too early. Sounds like your timeline is right to me.

So, I tried with my OB. I badgered them into doing a progesterone. It came back Friday afternoon looking (I think) good. I called in to confirm and they couldn't understand why I wanted to talk to someone. They promised to have a nurse call me back by the end of the day but I heard nothing. Later Friday I got a secure message from the OB that my progesterone looked "nice and high." Well that's all well and good, but it was my understanding that the levels are less important than how it changes.
I called the RE this morning. They got me in for progesterone, thyroid, and HCG this morning, another test scheduled for Wednesday. I feel so much better. I so hope they do an u/s before 8 weeks!
